As The Week Turned with Kristi

Let's get crazy! (Soaps.com)
Before we really get into it, I’ll explain what this column is all about: Kristi’s opinions. That pretty much sums it up. Kristi (that’s me) will share her opinions every week on what’s happening in Oakdale – and sometimes what isn’t happening! If you agree with her, great. If not, that’s great, too. Agree or disagree, hit the comments area and we’ll talk a little more about the goings on. That said, let’s get to it!

So, I don’t think I’m in the minority here when I say Jack needs to shut up where Carly is concerned. Yes, she slept with his cousin but it isn’t like they’re together anymore. Or have been together in forever – at least in Soap Time. I totally feel for Lily but Jack is just making me crazy. And don’t get me started on Holden.
You know what I’d really like, and I know it’s impossible because Jon Prescott (Mike) is leaving, but I’d like to explore the chemistry between Lily and a few new guys. Maybe Lily/Jack or Lily/Mike. . .or bring in a completely new guy. She needs a break, a man who will build her up instead of tearing her down. Yeah, that’s me, off the Lily/Holden bandwagon. At least this week!
I’m probably going to upset a few people but I really like the Parker/Liberty storyline right now. No, I don’t think either of them is emotionally mature enough to handle a sexual relationship … but what teenager is? And there are a lot of them out there having sex. So kudos to the writers for tackling this subject. The parents’ reactions were completely natural, the kids’ reactions to the parents were totally realistic. The drama is high for everyone involved in this particular storyline – and isn’t that what we want on Daytime Television?
Along the same lines, if the romance between Luke and Noah doesn't 1) move forward or 2) end altogether soon I'm going to start screaming. I don't think I can take another nine months of hand-holding and talking about possibly, maybe, someday soon, taking their relationship to the next level. As my daddy says. . .Oh, I can't write that here. I'll paraphrase: "Drink or get outta the bar!"
Am I the only one who really hopes a few of the crazy people really do go crazy? I'm loving Alison, Meg and Emily acting like loons and I nearly destroyed yet another computer when I spewed Pepsi all over the place watching Chris strip from itchiness. That was entertainment! Only in soaps. Man, there are a few people out there I'd like to humiliate so if anyone knows what kind of drug makes people strip from itchiness, drop me a line…
Faith, Faith, Faith … you're 12 years old, honey, and it's time you knew the truth: your parents have the hormones of a couple of sixteen year olds. But if you wait around a few months, Lily just might steal Holden back from Aunt Carly. Keep the faith, kiddo!
By the by, Margo needs to get a grip. No, I wouldn't want my 21 year old son to be sleeping with my 40 year old arch-enemy. But I wouldn't list the men we've shared in the past over lunch at The Lakeview, either. . .Besides, Casey + Emily = Hottness!!!
Speaking of Margo, did she really have cause to arrest Chris based on Aaron's annoying interruptions of Chris' explanation of the goings-on at the pond? I don't think so! But, it did make for an eventful afternoon! Can't wait to hear what Bob and Tom have to say when they find out!
Am I the only one who is going to miss Winkie the Camp Counselor? Debra Jo Rupp, come back soon - and often!
Does anyone else think they're killing Brad? I know he's the goofy one. I know he doesn't always think things through. But seriously, hiring a bodyguard to make sure Liberty doesn't leave the house? How about just trying to talk to your kid? How about actually listening to what they aren't saying? How about not assaulting your 15 year old nephew? Yeesh!
Looking ahead to next week, is anyone else hoping and praying that Margo is the next one drugged? Hey, it could liven up their next family dinner party - even more than her already bad mood!
