Hey there, soap fans, welcome to’s 35th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards live blog for As The World Turns! This is the night many of us have been waiting for for months! I’ll be here, blogging about the stars on the red carpet, who won from our shows and anything else that seems like fun, so sit back, grab a cup of coffee and have a good time!

Early congrats go out to:

Maura West (Carly), Kelly Menighan Hensley (Emily), Jennifer Landon (Gwen), Jesse Lee Soffer (Will), Trent Dawson (Henry) and Van Hansis (Luke) for their nominations!

A little of what you can expect this evening at the 35th Daytime Emmy Awards is glitz, glamor and hopefully to see Oakdale regulars take some Emmys home!

8:00 PM EST:

ATWT fans have been very vocal about their excitement this year because six actors were nominated for awards for their performances during 2007. The show was also nominated for several two Creative Emmy Awards, and won two of them. You can read about that here.

The first award to be given out is the Outstanding Supporting Actress award — for which Kelly Menighan Hensley (Emily) is nominated. Unfortunately she didn’t win – but we love ya Kelly!! The clip that Emily sent was from the scene just after she was attacked by the john while she was working for Cheri Love. I don’t know why she didn’t win – that was a great scene!

8:19 PM EST

Tyra Banks just won the Outstanding Talk Show – Informative Emmy. I love Tyra, but when did her show become “informative”?

Okay, producers, lets get back to the awards we wanna know about – like Outstanding Younger Actor (Go, VAN!!).

8:30 PM EST

Ask and ye shall receive, I guess! The award for Outstanding Younger Actor was just given – Tom Pelphrey won. Both Jesse Lee Soffer (ex-Will) and Van Hansis (Luke) were nominated. We saw them for a second in the crowd and both of them look outstanding in dark suits.

And now the Outstanding Younger Actress Award is being announced. There is a LOT of tough competition this year – but Jennifer Landon (ex-Gwen) wins it! Jennifer is wearing a gorgeous shell-pink spaghetti strap gown and a simple upsweep hairdo with a few strands framing her face. This is the third year in a row that Jennifer has won in this category! Congrats, girl!! We miss you on the show!

8:40 PM EST

Van Hansis (Luke) and Jake Silbermann (Noah) are on stage to announch the Emmy for Talk Show Hosts. The guys are wearing black suits, Van has an orange Oxford shirt and Jake has a purple shirt. boy, they look cute! The ladies from The View, Regis & Kelly and Ellen Degeneres are among the nominees. Ellen won! That is awesome – she has one of the funniest daytime talk shows out there. Congrats, Ellen!

8:55 PM EST

They just gave us a heads-up, Tyra Banks is going to present the award for Outstanding Lead Actress – the category that Maura West (Carly) is nominated in. The camera panned to Maura, who looks breathtaking in an emerald green gown. Good luck!!
