Romantic Hit or Miss: As The World Turns’ Carly and Holden
From the comments in the daily updates and on our message boards, it seems that the "Carden" storyline has two very definite camps: those against the relationship and those for it.
Those camps will be even more divided by weeks end because ***Spoiler Alert*** this week, Carly and Holden share their first kiss! After leaving Faith, Natalie and Sage at summer camp, Carly and Holden have a few mishaps which lead to a kiss!
Is this a good thing for the show? Or are the writer's making a huge mistake in apparently breaking up the supercouples of Lily/Holden and Carly/Jack? Here is what a few fans have to say.
"Holden is really the dumb one. If he thinks Lily lies a lot, wait till he gets ahold of one of Carly's whoppers!" said Plot-Twister. "He thought she was dying just like everyone else. So, if he wants to be with a big fat liar head, let him. Eventually, she and Jack will be back together."
Not-so-young-but-res said, "I don't like what's happening between her and Holden. I want to see Carly take the high road and stop anything from happening with her and Holden. I want her to remember all the times Lily has been there for her and helped her. I want Carly to be a true friend and tell Holden that she wont go there with him cause she love Lily and him like family."
"Carly don't lose your only friend by having a fling with her husband," said Soulmates. "Haven't you learn any thing from your past mistakes? I don't want to see her go down this road again."
On the other hand, some fans are excited to see Carly - and Holden - moving in a new direction and away from all of the emotional baggage that comes with their past loves Jack and Lily.
"I am actually just happy [Carly's] not with Jack. He has been a jerk to her lately and I am happy she has finally put him in his place. I know what it's like to be in a relationship with a guy who is controlling and thinks that he should be the only one that matters. I'm glad she got out of it," said Gymnast14.
JLyn said, "I know I'm alone, but I love these two together! Holden and Carly to me are HOT! Cowboy meets bad girl...I love it!"

They were barely friends, then best of friends and now it appears that things will go even farther with Oakdale’s Carly and Holden. The once near-enemies have been spending a lot of alone time lately. Time that neither Lily nor Jack seems to be aware of. It all began when Jack was ignoring Carly’s efforts to reunite with him.
With Lily concerned with winning Holden’s heart, Carly had no one to turn until Holden offered to listen. That turned into several spill-your-guts moments with the two of them. Carly cried about Jack, Holden cried about Lily. They seemed to forge a true friendship, which fans of the show loved, but now it seems that friendship is growing to something more. That has a lot of fans venting their own emotions!
