As The World Turns Nominated for a Writer’s Guild Award
As The World Turns writers are being recognized for their hard work and dedication to their craft with a nomination in the Daytime Serial category of the 2008 Writer’s Guild Television and Radio Awards.
Along with ATWT, several other soaps are on the nomination block, competing for an award.
The shows are judged on an episode that originally aired between December 1, 2006 and November 30, 2007.
ATWT writers took a few chances this past year, primarily with the Luke/Noah love story. For the first time on daytime television a gay relationship has been played out from the beginning. The writers promise that the "Nuke" storyline will be played out in real time, meaning the fans will see all of the firsts, all of the hard times and get a good dose of romantic emotion. So far fans are loving the change and clamoring for "more Nuke" on an almost-daily basis.
In 2007 As The World Turns won the Daytime Serial category of the WGA Awards. Could they win again this year? We'll have to wait and see.
The awards ceremony will be held on February 9, 2008 at the Bonaventure Hotel in Los Angeles and the Hudson Theatre at the Broadway Millennium Hotel in New York. The ceremonies will be held simultaneously.
Soaps.com congratulates the writers of ATWT for their hard work this past year. Good luck!!
