Michael Kisur has won Emmy's for his songs! (MichaelKisur.com)
Hearing a great song on the radio is not the same as hearing a great song on our favorite soap. Seeing that song in context with our favorite Pine Valley character gives us an immediate feeling – of love, fear, angst or despair.
Finding those songs can be especially tough, after all we usually only hear a couple of lines before the show cuts to a commercial. We’ve tracked down a few recent hits that hit the Pine Valley airwaves – and we even know where you can buy them!
We’ll start in November of 2006.
Several fans have asked us about the song heard on November 29th, 2006. That song is called "All I Had To Say" and is sung by hard rock band Losing Abby. It is on their album "Thesis" which can be purchased at the Losing Abby website.
Moving into 2007, there have been several songs that the Pine Valley faithful have wondered about.
Michael Kisur is a favorite recording artist for the AMC writers and producers. So far in 2007 three of his songs have been used in various montage scenes. Both "Low" and "Carry On" were used in April and "Undefeated" was used in June. All of those songs can be purchased on Michael Kisur's website here. Michael will even let you choose all the songs for your CD!
February was an especially busy song month in Pine Valley (no surprise since Valentine's Day falls right in the middle of the month).
On February 5th, All American Rejects sang "It Ends Tonight", that song is available in most retail outlets on their "Move Along" CD. Moving closer to Valentine's day, we heard Avril Lavigne's "Keep Holding On" from her "Best Damn Thing" album and Chad LaMarsh's "Just Remember". Visit Chad LaMarsh's website for more information on purchasing that song. And finally on February 16th Josh Groban's "You Raise Me Up" was sung by Zoe/Zarf.
In May fans were treated to "Closer" by Travis. It is on his "The Boy With No Name" CD which is in stores now.
Seeing our favorite Pine Valley residents in a montage of shots with music playing in the background touches all of our hearts. What songs have been your favorites?
