Two Veteran Actresses Get Cut From Contract
All My Children fans are a bit dismayed finding out that two veteran actresses have been released from their contracts. Rumors swelling that they’ve been let go to make room for new younger starts. When All My Children’s revamped opening credits were shown in early June, fans were relieved to see that some recently hired stars made the lineup, but sadly two faces were missing.
Jill Larson, who plays Opal and Tonya Pinkins who plays Livia are out. According to released statements by the show, the actresses are now on recurring status but may continue to make future appearances.
Joining the crew in 1989, Jill Larson has been portraying Opal Gardner since then. Jill was awarded two Daytime Emmy nominations in the Supporting Actress Field. Fans were holding out hope to see more screen time for Jill as the show ponders a move of age and recasting Opal’s son Petey.
Tonya Pinkins, a Tony Award winning actress rejoined All My Children in 2003 following an eight year hiatus, has seen very little on air time of her character Livia. During this time, she’s played double duty performing on stage in the Broadway play, “Caroline or Change” where she received a Tony nomination for her role.
