It’s a very rare happening that any television show reaches even 1,000 episodes anymore, fans, but All My Children has passed by 1,000 and headed straight for the top – by taping it’s 10,000th episode just a few days ago!

Wow! That is a lot of television and Susan Lucci (Erica Kane) and Ray MacDonnell (Joe Martin) have been there since the very beginning! AMC first hit the television screen in 1970 with Agnes Nixon at the helm, promising to deliver stories that fans wanted to see. Family drama and real life topical and social issues.

The show was the first to take on the Viet Nam War in the 1970s and at the turn of the century, was the first to have an openly lesbian front-burner character in the form of Bianca Montgomery; Binx also share the first same-sex kiss when she and girlfriend Lena kissed later that year.

Now the show has passed another milestone – it’s 10,000th episode!

The show is going to take a look back at the past 38 years during this very special episode and creator Agnes Nixon will make a special appearance – as one of the founders of Pine Valley! As town residents gather to mourn those lost in the tornadoes, Agnes’ character will appear as a ghost.

The special episode will also have Erica taking a trip down memory lane; remembering some of her best times in Pine Valley. Also back will be Lee Merriweather (Ruth Martin)
AMC’s 10,000th episode will air on November 12, 2008.

Congratulations to the cast, crew, writers and producers from Soaps.com!
