Live Blogging 35th Annual Daytime Emmy’s for All My Children!!
9:10 PM EST
Cameron just introduced us to the accountants who tally all the votes for the show - and they asked him for more water and bread! I guess their waiter is avoiding them. How funny!
9:20 PM EST
The show just announced that the award for Outstanding Lead Actor is coming up in just a second. As you all know, David Canary (Adam) is nominated for the award - he's our only acting nominee, can you believe it? So let's all hit the record button - and hope David wins!
9:28 PM EST
Jimmy Kimmel just presented the Lifetime Achievement Award to Regis Philbin; in case you missed it, there was a whole segment with Kelly Ripa (ex-Hayley) talking about the past 7 years with Regis on the show. I can't believe it's been that long! Seems like just last year she was on AMC and the sit-com "Hope & Faith"!
9:45 PM EST
Susan Lucci is presenting the award for Outstanding Lead Actor. She is wearing a beautiful blue, strapless gown, with her hair down around her face. She just joked about the honor of "just being nominated"! David Canary, Adam, is nominated in the category, but Anthony Geary (Luke, General Hospital just won the award.
The clip for David Canary was the scene when Adam confronted JR about Charlotte's true identity. I can't believe he didn't win! The emotion in that scene was palpable - just as much now as when I saw that scene originally last Spring.
9:50 PM EST
Only one award to go - Outstanding Drama Series! Barbara Walters is presenting that award in just a minute - stay tuned!
9:55 PM EST
The award for Outstanding Daily Drama was just announced - and <a href="http://www.soaps.com/generalhospital"General Hospital wins it this year! I guess that Metro Court storyline was a huge, huge deal last year, eh? I think they deserve the award - their actors are amazing and the storylines are really interesting ... but I'm still bummed that AMC's only nominee didn't win. Better luck next year, I guess!
Congratulations to all the nominees and winners - Soaps.com knows you work exceptionally hard all year long. You all deserve the spotlight!!
And that's it from Los Angeles ... I thought the show was really great. Very interesting, especially the little skits that Cameron and Sherri did (did you guys catch them kissing?!?). It kept the action moving.
What did you guys think of the awards this year? Leave us a comment or start a thread in the boards!
Until next year, "That's All Folks!"

Hey there, soap fans, welcome to Soaps.com’s 35th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards live blog for All My Children! I’ll be here, blogging about the stars on the red carpet, who won from our show and anything else that seems like fun, so sit back, grab a cup of coffee and have a good time!
A little of what you can expect this evening at the 35th Daytime Emmy Awards is glitz, glamor and hopefully to see David Canary take home the Lead Actor Emmy!
8:00 PM EST:
Fans have been very vocal this year about the lack of nominations for the show. Our lone acting nomination is for David Canary in the Lead Actor Category. The show also received a few Creative Emmy Awards Nominations and won one of them. You can read about that here.
The show opened with a fun clip Of Cameron Mathison (Ryan) and Sherri Sheppard (from The View) looking for each other before the show. They are co-hosting tonight. Sherri interrupted several “scenes” of AMC and Cameron just busted in on Whoopi Goldberg in the bathroom. What a hoot! Oh, Sherri just showed “Erica” how to get out of jail!
And here’s a cool little snippet – all of the tables have digital video cameras on them, so the stars can take “behind the scenes” clips. How cool is that? After the show, the videos will be uploaded to SOAPnet, and we can see what the stars see!
8:21 PM EST
Cameron just introduced One Life To Live, the show is up for Outstanding Drama Series.
8:35 PM EST
Sherri sheppard and Cameron Mathison (Ryan) just reminded us about the video clips and teased Barbara Walters about her video taking ability. You know, Cameron has done a lot of hosting gigs and I have to say, he is really good at it! It’s nice to see him a little more relaxed than his character (Ryan) has been in Pine Valley, lately!
8:48 PM EST
Darnell Williams (Jesse), Debbi Morgan (Angie) and Cornelius Smith, JR (Frankie) are announced the Outstanding Directing Team for a Daily Drama. One Life To Live won – no surprise, they have had some amazing storylines this past year, including the high school prom story last spring. A quick note, Debbi looks absolutely fabulous in a sapphire blue, backless gown!
