All My Children’s Susan Lucci On Brian Frons
Now that the “All My Children” cast has taped their final episode at ABC, Susan Lucci (Erica) is letting her feelings be known about head of ABC Daytime Brian Frons. According to the New York Post, an epilogue has been added to the paperback edition of Susan Lucci’s memoir All My Life. In it, the actress puts the blame for the soap’s network cancellation on Frons, citing his hiring Chuck Pratt as head writer in 2008, moving the show from New York to L.A. and pushing out series’ creator Agnes Nixon.
Per the article, Lucci writes in her epilogue, “An iconic show was losing out to greed…If Brian Frons could show his bosses that he could save the network 40 percent…he could keep his job even if the rest of us lost ours….I watched Brian Frons’ decisions destroy the production of our show and the lives of people on both sides of the country.”
