Saying goodbye.

Today is the last day of taping for the ABC portion of “All My Children.” Even though the Daytime drama will eventually migrate online, it’s still unknown which actors will be following suit. It’s an end of an era either way you look at it for the 41-year-old soap opera. Some of the cast took to Twitter and Facebook to share their feelings in the days leading up to and on their final ABC tape day.

Vincent Irizarry (David): In the morn I’ll go to work on “AMC” for the last time under ABC. It’s been a wonderful, even seemingly magical ride all these years. As with all my fellow “AMC” actors, I don’t yet know where we’re going, but I certainly know where I’ve been. What a privilege to have traveled this journey with many of you throughout these years, and equally so to have played such a rewarding character as Dr. David Hayward. The depth of my gratitude is beyond measure, therefore, I thank you all ad infinitum. Keep the faith.

Cameron Mathison (Ryan): In my “AMC” dressing room on the second last day of shooting. So strange. Love this place. No doubt lots of emotions the next few days.

Denise Vasi (Randi): Bittersweet feelings as I start my last day in Pine Valley! Big girls don’t cry…or at least they try not to.

Stephanie Gatschet (Madison): “The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance.” – Alan Watts

J.R. Martinez (Brot): The roller coaster begins. Last night I was at the top with the “DWTS” announcement & today I’m riding down with the ending of “AMC.” (Read about J.R.’s new gig at J.R. Martinez To Dancing With The Stars.)
