On the Mound.

J.R. Martinez (Brot, AMC) will throw out the ceremonial first pitch today when the Tampa Bay Rays host the New York Yankees at Tropicana Field in Florida. Not only will he be there to show off his pitching arm, but he will also help celebrate Dream Machine Day at the stadium.

Tropicana Field is the first Major League Baseball stadium to use the PepsiCo Dream Machine kiosks, which are computerized recycling receptacles that include a personal reward system. Operated by Greenopolis, consumers earn points for every bottle or can they recycle and can redeem those points for discounts on entertainment, dining and travel.

The program doesn’t just reward users though, as the more people use the Dream Machines, the more PepsiCo will support the Entrepreneurship Bootcamp for Veterans with Disabilities. The bootcamp is a national program that provides free, experiential training in entrepreneurship and small business management to military veterans with post-9/11 disabilities.

Martinez graduated from the bootcamp at Florida State University. To learn more about the actor’s recent experience please visit J.R. Martinez’s Real Life Eye Surgery.
