Rebecca was born in Berkeley, California, USA. Her parents are of Dutch ancestry (Jaap Romijn and Elizabeth Kuizenga).

While studying singing at the University of California, Santa Cruz, she became involved with fashion modeling and moved to Paris, France for more than two years, to model. She has modeled for the swimsuit issue of Sports Illustrated and for Victoria's Secret. Once a year you can see her in the Times Square Victoria's Secret Fashion Show.

She also was the host of MTV's House of Style from 1998 to 2000.

Rebecca has had the fortune of being one of People Magazine's 50 Most Beautiful People in 1997 and again in 1999. She was also GQ's Woman Of The Year in 1997.

Rebecca has been in a handful of television shows and films. Her most well known role to date is Mystique, in X-Men! She has received 2 awards for acting, and 4 nominations!
