Born Linda Ann Gray in Santa Monica, California, Gray grew up in Culver City with her father, Leslie, a watchmaker, and her mother Marjorie. She put on neighborhood plays as a child despite her shyness and later attended Notre Dame Academy there.
Her legs became infamous when they were used on the cover poster of the movie "The Graduate." She went on to perform in the play in a London version in 2001.
She owns a production company, LG Productions, and was fired from the eighth season of "Dallas" for asking to direct some episodes until co-star Larry Hagman threatened to leave in protest.
She has served as a goodwill ambassador for the UN and has two children.
