Although born in California, Jesse Metcalfe was raised in Connecticut, where he attended the private Williams School. He studied acting and film at the prestigious Tisch School of the Arts at New York University, although he did not graduate.

Metcalfe first appeared on NBC's "Passions," but gained fame as John Rowland on the Primetime soap, "Desperate Housewives." On the big screen he starred in the teen-comedy "John Tucker Must Die" and worked opposite Michael Douglas in "Beyond A Reasonable Doubt."

Metcalfe collects art and plays both the guitar and piano.
