Ashley appeals to Neil and Katherine, Jack makes Nick an offer, and Michael goes off on Ryder!
Lauren and Michael meet Phyllis and Nick on the patio at Crimson Lights. Nick gives Michael checks for Gloria and Jeffrey. They all agree that Nick was smart not to drag it out.
Inside the coffee house, Gloria and Jeffrey hover around Kevin. Gloria tells her son that as soon as Nick Newman hands over those big checks, the aprons coming off for good! Michael and the others go inside and Gloria and Jeff receive their checks. Nick leaves for work, and Gloria and Jeff take Michael aside and say that the amount of the checks is nothing compared to what they lost! Michael hisses at them that they were lucky to get anything!
At the Club, Adam and Sharon discuss whether or not they should be seen together. Sharon says she doesn't care what people think, and asks him to meet her there later for dinner. Ashley appears, and Sharon asks her how the baby is - Adam looks uncomfortable. Ashley says the baby is coming over with the nanny and invites Sharon to stay to see her. Adam prompts her that she has an appointment. Sharon wants to reschedule, but Adam talks her out of it, and she leaves. Adam then tells Ash he'd better get over to Newman - Nick probably has some wastebaskets for him to empty.
Katherine sits in her living room thinking about Jill claiming to be involved with Paul. Jill walks in, and Kay confronts her about it, asking if she was trying to hide what she's really up to. Jill changes the subject to Chancellor, and the fact that word leaked out about them going public. Katherine admits the sharks are circling!
Jack meets up with Neil at Jabot and remarks that he wants in on the ground floor of any new stock deals. They head to the boardroom to chat. Neil tells Jack he wouldn't be the type of investor they are looking for, and that's something he'll have to learn to live with. Jack tells Neil he realizes they don't want him to have any real say in the company that was created by his own family - and that he won't learn to live with it!
Jill comes into the coffee house and gets her check from Michael. She says the money will come in handy, and Gloria and Jeffrey start fishing for information about what she plans to do with her share. Jill takes off, and Gloria and Jeff continue to appeal to Michael about the low amount of money offered to them. Michael asks why they couldn't just once be happy with what they've got? Jeff says it's the principle. Michael tells them to get a good financial adviser and stay out of trouble. Kevin and Ryder appear at the table, and when Kevin learns that Glo is quitting, he tells Ryder he'll have more responsibility around there! Ryder grabs the coffee pot and heads out to the patio, where Phyllis and Lauren were just discussing if he could be behind the rat in the giftbox. Ryder asks how the wedding was, and the women exchange looks! Michael joins Phyllis and Lauren on the patio as Ryder goes about his business and Gloria heads out the door. Phyllis and Lauren ask Michael to find out where Ryder was at the time of the wedding. Phyllis leaves, and Lauren and Michael quiz Kevin on Ryder's whereabouts, causing Kevin to become angry.
Adam is in Nick's office at Newman. They bicker over the menial tasks Nick gives him to do. Adam remarks that Victor wanted him to expand his responsibilities - not increase his busy work. Nick blows off his concerns and tells him to have a good day.
Katherine and her lawyer meet with Neil at Jabot. They discuss how careful they'll have to be with the stock going public. Neil says he's excited. Ashley arrives and says she knows about the stock offering and wants to be a ground-floor investor. Neil and Katherine tell her they can't open the doors to her and Jack - it's a public offering. Ash says she's not partnering with Jack, and wants this meeting kept secret! She elaborates that she will never let herself be controlled by a man again - she appeals to Neil to understand - he was once in Victor's shadow. Kay tells her she'll support any woman who stands on her own - she'll be in touch.
Paul is visiting with Heather at his place. He comments on how he hated telling her the truth about Adam - she says it's fine. Paul hints that he's moving on from Nikki. Heather makes a few guesses, before she realizes it's Nina he's interested in. Paul grins and says it's way too early to say anything.
Jill comes to Paul's door, where he greets her and says his daughter is there - would Jill like to announce their engagement? Heather leaves, and Paul asks Jill what she was thinking telling Kay that they're involved? He's not happy about it, but Jill says it's a perfect cover! Jill points out that 'dating' her would also give him access to the house. They discuss how believable it is for them to be involved - Paul notes that no matter what he says to that he can't win! Jill suggests they go have their first fake date at the Club.
Sharon returns to the Club where she runs into Jack. He suggests that they meet - he may have something for her work-wise. When they try to set a time to meet, however, it doesn't work out.
Heather runs into Adam at the Club. She comments that he's cleaned up his look, but says he really hasn't paid for his crimes even though he may have others fooled - she calls him a liar and stalks off. Sharon joins him, and he muses that he hopes Heather doesn't give her a hard time about hanging out with him. Sharon isn't bothered by it. Adam comments that Nick won't let him do more than sharpen pencils due to his past, and says Sharon is one of his true friends now. Sharon wonders why he rushed her away from seeing Ashley's baby then? He claims he was protecting her - it might have been difficult. Sharon thanks him for looking out for her, and they have a flirtatious moment.
Jack meets with Nick at Newman and tells him about the Chancellor stock offering. He wants to go into business together on it, saying they're being cagey, but should be open to doing business with Newman. Nick wonders why Jack would want to help Newman - he theorizes that they already shot Jack down. Jack admits that Neil did turn him down. Jack tells Nick he wants to get his family back - Jabot has always been their rallying cry. Nick says he'll look into it and let him know. Jack says it's a good deal, then leaves. Phyllis arrives and gives her opinion - even Victor wouldn't have been able to do this. Nick nods, saying Jack would never have went to him in the first place!
Gloria and Jeffrey meet back up at Crimson Lights with a ton of shopping. They tell Kevin that they think Jill knows something that is going on at Chancellor - since Kay gave him his job back there, he could find out! Kevin says he won't do it. Kevin spots Michael and Lauren grilling Ryder on the patio and goes over to their table. Ryder tells them he knows where the wedding was held, but won't tell them who he was with the night before. Michael leaps up and grabs Ryder by the lapels, hollering at him to confess! Michael is pulled off and calms down. He tells Lauren that he may or may not have done it - but either way he's a bad seed!
Neil and Katherine sit down at a table in the Club and discuss how exited they are about the buzz surrounding the stock. Ashley passes Jack's table and refuses to join him, saying it's been a busy and productive day. Jill and Paul arrive and ask if they can join Katherine and Neil!
