The Young and the Restless - DAILY UPDATES

At the coffee house, Kevin tells Jana that Daniel is back in jail - a tip led to a painting hidden in the wall. Kevin worries that Jana will be next!

Amber is with Daniel in the jail cell. He notes that someone went to a lot of trouble to set him up. Amber hisses that when she finds out who it is - he's dead! Michael arrives and says that Daniel will have to stay inside until his trial in the fall. Amber says she'll prove him innocent way before then!

Nick and Phyllis arrive at home with Summer, who is still having trouble with speech. She calls Nick 'mommy'. Nick thanks Phyllis for letting him come home - he knows she wasn't sure about it. She wants the best for Summer. Nick declares that they're a family, and will stay a family. Suddenly, Summer says, "Dada." Nikki and Paul arrive. Nikki is stunned to hear that Summer is unable to speak properly. Nick asks what they found out about Mary Jane in Europe. They say that everything she ever claimed was a complete fabrication. Paul says he needs to talk to Victor - they need to work together on this! After he leaves, Phyllis gets a call from Amber telling her that Daniel was arrested again. Nikki and Nick tell Phyllis to go.

Downstairs at the Ranch, Ashley informs Victor that she's not going to let anyone chase her out of her home - least of all Estella! She wonders how that woman keeps getting past security. Victor says that he's decided to send Adam away. Ashley is stunned, saying that's not necessary, but he assures her it will be a good place for him. Ash begs him to reconsider.

Heather is in Adam's room with him. She asks why he's resisting leaving to go to the halfway house - what is so important that he has to stay at the Ranch? She points out that Victor will still have to get permission from the D.A. Adam wants her to try to influence him to turn his father down, but she says he's not very happy with him at the moment. As she leaves, Ashley comes in. He asks if she came to say goodbye. She says Victor just told her, and she's sorry. Ashley then asks him if he'll be the baby's godfather. Adam is moved, saying this is very unexpected, and very kind of her. Ashley says she hopes Victor changes his mind about sending him away.

Back at the jail, Amber tells Daniel that his mother is on the way. Daniel expresses his frustration to Michael - an anonymous caller tips off the police exactly where to find that painting - he's obviously being set up and can't do anything to defend himself! Amber blurts that she will help him. He asks her how she'll do that - she knows as much about who is setting him up as he does!

Paul is with Victor at home. He tells Victor that they are now looking for two people - Mary Jane Benson and whoever she really is! Paul notes that whoever set up her false identity was very well-connected. Victor says that he'll put his team on it - Paul shouldn't bother himself with it anymore. Paul insists on being involved. Victor agrees, and also suggests a press conference. Upstairs, Adam has listened in to all of this!

In Crimson Lights, Michael is about to discuss Daniel with Jana and Kevin, when Heather comes in. Kevin rushes over with coffee and tells her that he is totally fine with everything she did - the padded cell and all that. Michael steps closer and says that Kevin is a good guy, but not a normal one. Michael cuts to the chase and tells Heather that Daniel is being set up, but she says unfortunately, she can't help him, she's sorry.

Phyllis meets with Daniel in his cell. They discuss Summer and her speech. Daniel urges her to go home, but she says she's not leaving - he's her child too. Daniel smiles, and says he can take care of himself, and tells her again to go. They discuss Nick coming home, and then Phyllis asks if he has any idea who is doing this. Daniel admits he knows no one who hates him enough to do this!

Amber pounds on the door of Deacon's room, hollering as he opens it that he's a moron! Deacon grins, saying, "Ah, the dulcet tones of my little angel." Amber threatens to put him in jail and says if she were him, she'd start running. Deacon, unconcerned, sits down at his laptop and thanks her for the heads up. She hesitates, and he tells her that the police will laugh in her face. She counters that he's not smart enough to pull this off. Deacon then says that he has rock solid evidence that could get Daniel released! She points out that it would incriminate Deacon, but he says not necessarily - then plays a tape of the murder victim laughing about how easy it was to set up Daniel Romalotti. Amber asks how he got it, but Deacon says the question is, how can she get it?! As Amber is railing about how stupid this is, her phone rings - it's Daniel. Deacon gets her off the phone, then informs her this is a limited time offer - tomorrow that tape will be erased. He adds that after one night with him - she may just want to leave Daniel where he is!

Paul and Ashley chat about Mary Jane as they wait at the Ranch for the press conference to begin. Paul states that sociopaths can be very charming! Heather arrives and Paul lets her in. Victor asks why she's there - Paul thought he'd want to issue a joint statement with the D.A.'s office. Victor declines, then starts speaking - he offers a one million dollar reward for Mary Jane!

Adam shows up in the potting shed and tells Mary Jane what is going on. She rushes out as he promises to take care of kitty. Adam looks down at his ankle monitor, which is beeping!

At the tack house, Nick and Nikki watch the press conference, and Nick tells his mother that he's staying with Phyllis and Summer - Sharon understands. Nikki offers to move in, saying she just needs to grab some clothes, and Nick says that reminds him - he saw Adam walking around with a bunch of women's clothes the other day. Nikki wonders whether he would have been stealing the clothes for Heather. Nick jokes that maybe they were for him. Nikki then stuns her son by telling him that she caught Adam with Rafe! Nick thinks Victor should know, saying that this probably isn't Adam's only secret!

Detective Gil shows up at the Ranch to tell Victor that Adam Wilson has left the premises. Ashley, Paul, and Heather are there and look up in surprise as Adam comes in huffing and puffing, saying he was chasing a woman with long, dark hair. Gil radios in on this development, and Ashley thanks him for trying to nab the intruder. Soon, security comes in with Sabrina's dress - they realize that it was likely Mary Jane all along. Ashley hails Adam as a hero, and Victor tells Heather to withdraw his petition to move Adam. He then thanks Adam for protecting his family!

When Special Agent Grimes comes into the coffee house to see Jana, Kevin asks if he has a warrant, and when he doesn't, tells him to get out, quit harassing innocent people and find the real killer! Jana says she won't answer any questions. The man leaves.

Mary Jane, in an alley, cries, saying there's no one left - even kitty's gone! Suddenly she remembers Jack - he loves her!
