Tyra overhears Neil and Karen, Eden overhears Michael and Lauren, and Nikki hears that Paul is helping a con artist!
Jana and Kevin are visiting a very grumpy Gloria. Jana tries to reassure her, saying she's got fabulous karma, but Glo's not buying it! Talk turns to Katherine, and Gloria asks Kevin why he thinks she's not a fake. He says he's convinced - leave it at that. He admits he bailed her out and asked Michael to help her prove her identity. Gloria asks if he's out of his mind - she'll lose Jabot!
Nikki rushes to welcome Paul home with a kiss. Michael arrives and Nikki grins, saying they're busted! Paul mentions they are keeping their status quiet for now. Suddenly, Lauren calls Michael's cell and tells him they have received another tax bill in Eden's name! Michael hangs up and tells Nikki and Paul that his parent who deserves to be in prison is creating an ongoing headache! Paul reports to Michael on what he has learned about the tainted face cream victim's family so far. Nikki pipes up and tells Michael she has respect for him, but she can't stomach Gloria getting away with what she's done! Michael says a year ago he would have agreed - but she didn't mean to hurt anyone. He says she's in jail because she trusts the wrong men. Nikki disagrees, saying that Gloria needs to take responsibility for what she did - she put a substance into a face cream that would burn skin! Michael rants about what Lowell did to Gloria, telling Nikki to excuse him if he wants to give his mother the benefit of the doubt. Nikki maintains that Gloria did something wrong!
Neil and Karen are taking pictures of Ana in a pretty dress. She is ready for the father/daughter dance which Neil is taking her to, but not before stopping by Indigo so Tyra can see her. When Ana leaves the room, Karen tells him he is amazing with Ana - he returns the compliment.
Murphy is surprised to see Katherine dressed to leave the trailer to go to work at the diner. She says she feels she has no alternative - is she supposed to wander the streets of Genoa City in case someone recognizes her? She also admits to becoming fond of her new life.
Tyra is thrilled to see Ana arrive with Neil, Karen, Lily and Devon at Indigo. Neil tells Tyra that Rafe called and said there will be no recriminations if Tyra and Ana 'run into' one another in a public place. As Neil and Ana practice dancing, Tyra thanks Karen for Ana's dress. Karen says they love making her happy. Karen runs out to get her camera from the car, and Neil asks Tyra to help him demonstrate how to dance. Tyra and Neil dance well together, and as Karen comes back in, he dips Tyra! Karen gets Neil alone for a moment and says everything has been so right with the three of them - like a real family. She tells Neil that she thinks the best thing for Ana, and for them, is to adopt her! Neil hesitates. Across the room, Tyra wonders aloud to Devon and Lily whether she should just leave Ana here and go back to Seattle - she seems so happy. Devon assures her that she is her rightful mother - she can't talk like that! When Tyra walks away, Lily tells Devon that the jury is still out on who should be raising Ana!
Lauren meets with Eden at Crimson Lights. She is worried about the Ashram, saying that if they get rid of it, she'll have nowhere to go back to! Lauren assures her that her home will always be with them. Michael turns up and tells Lauren that he will pay the tax bill. He then rants that he wishes Lowell had never turned up - he didn't bring one good thing into their lives! Eden overhears and is shocked. Michael turns, realizes what he said, and calls her name as she rushes away. When he doesn't catch up to her, he leaves a phone message saying they love her and he didn't mean what he said. He leaves to go to the jail and soon Eden turns up again. Kevin and Jana come in as Lauren is greeting Eden with relief. Kevin tells Eden that he used to feel he was a big pain to Michael too, but you really can't ask for a better brother! Eden sits down with them, and eventually asks Lauren if she thinks River will ever turn up again.
Katherine arrives at the diner, where Pearl is glad to see her, and wondering why she missed so many shifts. Pearl then comes out with a belated Christmas gift - it's a Joe's Diner bowling shirt! Katherine is stunned hear they've been signed up for the winter league - and she's the captain! Murphy giggles! Pearl tells her she's a great bowler, and Katherine suddenly feels like she is living a lie. She confides her feelings to Murphy, who reassures her that everything will fall into place in time. She says she is content to be Marge for now.
Nikki tells Paul about the woman who claims to be Katherine visiting her. She says it was horrible to believe for a moment that Katherine was alive, and then to realize it was all a hoax! Paul admits that he is helping Michael handle her case. Nikki is stunned. She asks how he can help that con artist?! Paul is taken aback at her vehemence, but insists that this is his job - he can't just work on cases defending nice people! She asks him to refuse - just this once. Paul reconsiders and tells Nikki that he'll tell Michael he's unavailable. He makes the call to Michael as Nikki tells him that he's a wonderful man!
Back at Indigo, Karen and Neil once again discuss adopting Ana. Tyra overhears this time and asks Ana to excuse them. She asks what they are trying to do - cut her out of Ana's life?! Tyra wonders why they aren't doing more to advocate for her. Karen tells her if they push too much on her behalf, the authorities will put Ana in another foster home. Neil reassures Tyra that they will take care of Ana only until she can reclaim her. Karen looks like he slapped her! Across the room, Ana tells Lily and Devon she heard Neil and Karen talking about adopting her. Devon says she'll always have Tyra. When Ana leaves the table, Lily confronts Devon about lobbying for Tyra - it's best for Ana if Dad and Karen adopt her! Karen, meanwhile, asks Neil if he thinks Tyra can provide a better home than them. Neil says he knows where she's coming from, but it's too soon to discuss adoption. Back at Lily and Devon's table, Lily points out that Devon's life was saved by adoption! Devon says that Tyra loves Ana - it's the stability she needs. They cease arguing as Neil says it's time to leave for the dance. Karen walks over to Tyra and tells her that she and Neil are in the best position to offer Ana a good home, and she hopes when it comes time for decision making - she hopes that Tyra will put Ana's interests ahead of her own!
Michael sits down with Gloria. He starts to discuss the case, but Gloria confronts him about helping Katherine. She begins to rant about the Jabot stock, but Michael cuts her off, saying that topic is off limits! Gloria says it's all his father's fault that she's in prison - she despises him! Michael says that he does too. They agree that River is good at staying underground. Michael whispers that wherever Lowell is he hopes he stays there - he never wants to see his lying face again! Meanwhile, River is shown in a church overseas performing wedding ceremonies. The reverend of the church says it is wonderful to have such a distinguished guest - he can stay as long as he likes!
