    My Alibi!

    Wednesday, January 23 2008
As Jack and Gloria butt heads over the Abbott Mansion, an eye witness comes forward that provides Victor Newman with an alibi for the night of Ji Min's death!

Lily is in the kitchen wrestling with her morning toast when Karen ventures in. Lily asks what she's doing there so early, then realizes that Karen spent the night. Neil comes out and rushes off to work. Karen asks Lily why she didn't say good bye to her father. Lily confides they're having problems. Karen apologizes that they didn't let her know about the overnight. Lily says it doesn't bother her. Karen congratulates Lily on being a finalist in the Jabot contest, and assures her that she's not trying to replace her mother. Lily says she knows that. Later, Lily relives her recent arguments with Neil in her mind. Karen comes out of the other room and offers for Lily to join her at the spa, but Lily declines. Once Karen leaves, Lily calls Cane and invites him over. When Cane arrives, Lily tells him her father is a hypocrite - telling her to move slowly while he's going so fast with Karen. They begin to kiss when Karen knocks and comes in to get her forgotten notepad. They are all startled! Cane laughs that every time he kisses Lily someone comes in. He excuses himself, and Karen assures her that she won't say anything to Neil.

The District Attorney meets with Heather at the Club and explains that they need to put Victor Newman behind bars. Across the room, Maggie and Paul note their presence, with Paul saying that he's heard the D.A. is a hard guy to work for. Maggie reminds him he's her boss too. Talk turns to Heather and Maggie confides in Paul that his daughter has been suffering from nightmares. Paul muses that he should probably not push her right now - it might make things worse for her. After Heather gets up from her meeting, she joins Paul and Maggie for breakfast. They discuss the Newman case, and Heather explains it has to be bomb-proof. Paul makes the mistake of suggesting that she tell the D.A. to prosecute the case himself due to her emotional issues. Heather retorts that he doesn't know her well enough to judge her capabilities! Paul apologizes and explains that he just hates seeing her under so much pressure. After she leaves the table her phone rings. It's a young man claiming to have information about the Newman case! She agrees to meet him.

Jack enters the Club and runs into Gloria, who informs him that she is now living there - and has married Jeffrey Bardwell. Jack quips that he'll send him a condolence card. They agree that they're looking forward to settling John's estate and being rid of one another. Glo tells him that she is happy he has decided to recognize John's wishes. He warns there's not much cash as a lot of the estate is tied up in stocks and real estate. Gloria notes that that means the Abbott Mansion. She offers to buy Jack's interest in the house. He tells her she'll live there again over his dead body!

Michael is in Victor's office and presses Newman to understand that they have no proof to back up his innocence - the evidence all points directly to him. Victor is appalled with Michael, reminding him that he's being paid to get him out of this. "What the hell is wrong with you?" Victor demands he stop the rhetoric and come up with a concrete plan. Michael suggests they deal by trying to make a self-defense plea. Victor is outraged - he's an innocent man for God's sake! Michael stresses that he isn't understanding what position he's in. Victor accuses him of being uncommitted to the case - and fires him! Michael turns and leaves. Later, when he arrives home and fills Lauren in - she expresses surprise that he suggested Victor strike a plea deal. Michael blames Gloria's drama for taking his focus away from Victor's case. Lauren tells him that she believes he's having trouble with the case because he doesn't want to face the truth - Victor really is guilty! Lauren claims that she has seen Victor in action - he's capable of anything. Michael tells her he was fearing a jury of people like her that would convict him because he's perceived of being ruthless, that's why he wanted to plead self-defense. Lauren muses, "He might really go to jail!"

Gloria meets Kevin at Crimson Lights. They discuss Jeffrey's mysterious phone calls, which she claims are always business related, and talk turns to their plot against him. Kevin says he's come up with a plan - thanks to Alfred Hitchcock! Kevin alludes to tea laced with poison. They talk about the Abbott Mansion and Kevin warns her Jack will never let her live in that house again. But the idea grows on him as he tells his mother that old house is the perfect place for a murder plot! Later, Lily comes in and Kevin tells her he is researching Hitchcock plots. On the other side of the room, Heather is meeting with the young man who called her. He tells her he is a valet at Amelio's Restaurant and he saw Victor Newman get dropped off at eight o'clock that night - the same time he always comes there. Heather sighs as the guy leaves. At the counter, Heather tells a nosy Kevin that the man was just a crank. Lauren and Michael come in as Heather leaves. The young man that Heather met with comes back in and asks if anyone has jumper cables. Kevin, gesturing toward the guy, informs them that Heather just finished 'huddling' with him, and claimed he was a lead that didn't pan out. Michael jumps up. "Hey buddy! I have jumper cables!" Across the room, Cane and Lily canoodle in the corner as Lily informs him that Karen is on her side - she's not going to tell Neil about finding them together earlier!

Jack sits at the Club bar when Nick ventures in. They discuss Sharon, and Nick tells Jack he's glad their trip was good and warns him not to screw it up this time! They compare notes and discover that both Phyllis and Sharon are still out of town working, so they decide to get together with the kids for some family bonding! Later, Gloria makes her way back into the Club and heads upstairs. Suddenly she stops as she spots Bardwell at the bar. She calls him out for ditching his new bride right after the wedding. Jeffrey laughs and asks if she's jealous. She tells her it just puts her in a terrible position. He says the only thing she needs to worry about is double-crossing him!... Back at Crimson Lights, Kevin and Lauren are pouring over Jeffrey's phone records - there are over forty calls to the same number. At that moment Michael comes back in with the young man and thanks Kevin for being so nosy - this guy may have saved Victor! As Michael dashes off, Kevin and Lauren speculate as to whether Jeffrey might have another wife!

Neil comes into Victor's office and is apprised of Michael's firing. Neil continues to be astounded by Victor's actions, but Victor doesn't want to hear his opinion. He orders Neil to find him another lawyer. When Neil tells him that whether he wants to hear it or not - he hasn't done the right thing, Victor asks him to stop second-guessing him and get him a dream team of lawyers. Neil agrees and informs Victor on his way out that the judge will rule in the lawsuit tomorrow. Later, as Neil is lining up a hot shot lawyer when Michael blows in. Victor tells Neil to hold on when Michael says he has an eye witness that puts him at Amelio's Restaurant at the same time Heather's witness puts him in the locker room stuffing his bag with bloody towels! A cocky Michael suggests Victor may want to reconsider that firing thing.

Oh, not so bright one Heather. Just because your 'source' didn't tell you want you wanted him to say you blow him off! Maybe she should have taken her Dad's advice and told the DA to try the case against The Great Victor Newman. She will be eaten alive. So young, so immature, so inexperienced. Maybe the DA is smart, let her go down when the case is lost. Gloria and Jeffery. What a pair. ......and him telling HER he wants to move into the mansion by spring thaw. Over Jack's dead body. That is the family home. Not just another piece of property. Legally, no judge will award Gloria the house over Jack, and his siblings....they were raised in the house. But this is a soap opera and the laws don't apply.
One last thing, Lily is an idiot for inviting Cane to her DAD'S house to make out. Get a job Lily, move out. People can go to school and work at the same time.

    1. ? "Karen Keeps A Secret From Neil, For Lily And Cane!"

Lily not knowing that Karen had spent the night at her father's home, Karen congradulates Lily, on becoming a finalist in the Faces Of Jabot Contest!
Assuring Lily, that she isn't trying to replace her mother, Lily says to Karen that she knows that.
Karen leaves the apartment and Lily calls Cane to invite him over.
Once he arrives, Lily calls her father a hypocrite to Cane, thus telling her to move slowly: while he's going so fast with Karen.
They begin kissing on the soafa at Neil's, when Karen catches Cane n Lily on the soafa.
    She startles them.!
She says to them, that she forgot her note pad.
Cane leaves, and Karen agrees not to even tell Neil about her having caught Lily with him.

Note: Didn't Neil, warn Cane about being with his daughter in his home?
Also didn't Lily, tell her father that she needed to get her own place?
Why in the heck, is she at her father's place again getting caught on the sofa again kissing Cane for a 3rd time in a row?
Then when she went over to Kay n Jill's home, she got caught there too with him on their sofa kissing a forth time and at the coffee house by Amber.
Clearly Lily, here isn't really a mature woman that she claims to be n niether is Cane at this point as 30-1 year old man.
I'd have to say that Lily is de-maturing Cane, right down to her immature level n showing no respect for her father's or Jill n Kay's home either.
At least when Cane was with Amber and Heather, his maturity level matched theirs and stayed there!
He doesn't even act like he's a blood-born Chancellor at all.

    Candace,
What's wrong with Cane's brain? [lol]
He's acting just as immature as Lily is now.[lol]
How's Cane being with Lily going to even to help her be mature, when she's already de-maturing Cane down to her level?
    It's crazy, i tell ya![lol]
Where are the writer's going with their story lines? [lol]
I've watched this show for 33 years now, since 1975!
I've never seen anything like this on the show ever.[lol]

Veronda, maybe he isn't a Chancellor after all.

the show has been improve lately ,but to day is gonna be too many unpleasant things happen, first is that disgusting old Glodigger attitude to Jack,IMO writer should end her obnoxious behaviour soon, its been over year and she has not been exposed, stomping JAck in the ground all the time thats very bad s/l
even that stupid Gloria being exposed ,she still be able to be part of the show, but not with her money that she never deserve to begin with, not that 50 millions and absolutely not Dumb John will,BTW she is not funny whatsoever,IMO if she is funny then who does not..?actually her s/l is the worst of Y&R history, mainly coz of they drag it so long, become very unappealing; Lauren, she is as disgusting as her mother in law,I love Sheila Carter/Kimberlin 1000 times better than her,Lauren should the one who get killed not sheila,Lauren is useless anyway,Sheila is much more interesting character, very much exciting and she is not wicked at all,she just had mental problem, she more tolerable, that super Hypocrite Lauren IMO.
Sheila should just kill her in the past,Lauren is boring too.
the only pleasure is watching Lily and Cane, they are the best couple now after Nick and sharon in the past.

The young guy giving Heather info about Victor that turns into an alibi for him, where Michael is concerned, sure looks like the guy that we will know as Victor Jr with a moustache...just like his dad, "the moustache" as he is affectionately known (especially by Jack)...I will watch the show later today, but the photo sure looks like him...

Posted by Island Gurl at Wednesday, January 23 2008 05:13 AM

Yeah,I never been fan of Lauren either, she was just a witch in the past, she always harrasing Tracy, she is very hypocrite all right,I never feel sorry for her either when sheila terrorize her,she deserve it and more, beside that nightmare,I think she fake that one too,I dont believe her whatsoever, she was slick in the past, maybe she faking that to get attention.
and that old witch Gloria,is gonna one annoying story to day except Lily and Cane ,those 2 will be the only thing enjoyable.
I feel real bad for Victor,he is getting more frustated,he should overcome this,I know he will.

Posted by Candace at Wednesday, January 23 2008 05:15 AM

Veronda: Although I try hard to stay positive, I have to agree about the Cane and Lily story line - it's bizarre. Shouldn't he be with a career woman who is on his level? And wouldn't it be nice to see Lily, who dove into marriage too fast, enjoy a more innocent romance with a guy who's on her level? It's forced, and it shows. Also, Cane's sneering at Amber's pain is not working for me, although pay back's a you-know-what, somehow it is making me feel bad for Amber. Marina, however, is on my last nerve! LOL! That voice!

On a positive note, I'm really enjoying the intrigue building around the Jeffrey character, and I can't wait to see what will happen when Victor Jr. shows up in town!

    Have a great day everyone!
