Victoria undergoes testing and the doctor gives the family upsetting news. Brad is shocked to run into Phyllis! Gloria and Jeffrey seem to be headed for a battle of wits. Abby presents the 'sleeping' Victoria with a drawing of a dreamcatcher.

Nick is on the phone at work checking on Victoria. Phyllis walks into the office, on 'official business from the Senator'. Nick is looking downcast, and tells his wife that his sister may have developed pre-eclampsia. Phyllis says she knows what that is, she read about it when she was pregnant! Nick shares that Victoria's condition is stable, but they just don't know if the baby will make it. She marches over and shuts the office door, returns to his side and embraces him.
J.T. sits by Victoria's bedside chatting to her about baby names. He jokes, "What about Webb Newman? He laughs, then turns serious, pleading for her to hang in there. Nikki opens the door and tells him Dr. Webb wants to talk to them. Outside the room, Victor questions the doctor about the new equipment he has donated. He pressures the doctor to come up with some answers soon. J.T. asks Dr. Webb for confirmation that if the baby had to be delivered soon he may not survive. The doctor is silent and J.T. nods.

Brad, at work, is thrilled to see Abby come running into the office! Colleen says they have had some serious 'sister time' since she picked her up at the airport. Abby brings up Victoria's name and Brad is visibly discomfited about how to tell his daughter what has happened.

Kevin and Gloria are at Crimson Lights when Glo answers the phone to Jeffrey. He confirms their breakfast date, and after they hang up he turns off a digital voice recorder and puts it in his pocket. Kevin urges her to stay away from Jeffrey - he might be on to her! With a sly look she assures Kevin that Jeffrey won't beat her at her own game!
Victor offers to donate to Dr. Webb any more equipment he may need. He demands that the doctor be honest with him and never shield him from the truth. The doctor assures him that he will. Victor urges him to keep Victoria stable so that the baby can develop normally.

A shaken and exhausted Nikki sits with David and tells him she can't get her mind around the fact that Victor is responsible for all this. She admits though, that Victor is doing everything he can for her. As Victor approaches, David tells him that his daughter is in his prayers. Victor thanks him and moves away again. David asks Nikki if it's difficult to be around him right now. Nikki whispers that, on the contrary, there is no one she'd rather have in Victoria's corner right now than Victor.
At Newman, Brad attempts to explain to Abby about Victoria, and what it means to be in a coma. He is taken aback when Abby wants to go to the hospital to see her.
Gloria joins Jeffrey and asks what he's been up to lately. They make small talk about a property he's considering buying. He mentions that it 's near the DA office, which reminds him of his brother and the need to find out what he was trying to tell him with the package. Gloria makes her move, thanking him for the cream he gave her, telling him she uses it all the time. When he expresses surprise at that, she asks, "Why wouldn't I?" He says he would think it might bring her unpleasant reminders. She counters that it reminds her of William, and that is a good thing!

Brad enters Nick's office and asks him his opinion, as a father, on whether or not to let Abby visit Victoria in the hospital. Before Nick can answer, Brad is shocked to see Phyllis appear - she tells him she's on work release, so he better get used to it!
Brad is in disbelief about Phyllis's presence, but the one thing they agree on is that the most important thing right now is Victoria and the baby. Brad makes a hasty exit and Nick tells his wife she handled that well. He lovingly tells her that her presence is helping him right now.
Nikki refuses to eat when David offers. Nikki muses that the fighting, accusations and divorce - all of it falls away when your child is fighting for her life. Nothing else matters...
Abby and Colleen are having lunch and Adrian's name comes up. Abby teases her big sister about having a boyfriend. They sit and discuss the mall and school. Abby asks Colleen again about seeing Victoria. Colleen asks her to be patient - Dad's checking whether she can or not.
J.T., back at Victoria's bedside, speaks to the baby on her behalf, pleading for him to grow. Victor and Dr. Webb enter the room and tell him that they are bringing the new equipment into the room now, and since it is very delicate, J.T. will not be able to stay there during the test. He says, "She's going to make it..." and tucks the blanket under her chin before he leaves.
Nick arrives at the hospital and his parents fill him in on Victoria undergoing the test with the new equipment. Nick hands Victor a folder he needs him to look at right away. They decide that since the test will take an hour and a half, they will go to eat. On the other side of the room, David urges Nikki to go with her family, he has to get back to the office anyway. David remains upbeat and optimistic for Nikki's sake. Nick offers for J.T. to join them, but he declines and Nick tells him he's a good guy. J.T. confides that he can't eat or sleep, he just wants to be there and help her. Brad arrives and asks about Victoria. He shares with everyone gathered that Abby has arrived in town and really wants to see Victoria. They Newmans sigh that they can't think beyond the test...

Jeffrey and Gloria discuss his brother. He says that William never let anyone get away with lying to him! Suddenly his phone rings and he excuses himself to take the call. Gloria settles the bill and in a flash, locates the digital voice recorder in Jeffrey's pocket. Just then, he returns because he forgot his pen. Gloria freezes, looking slightly guilty...
Gloria quickly hands Jeffrey her pen so he won't go in his pocket. He takes it and moves away again. She texts madly on her cellphone as he returns to the table chatting about his real estate deal. She makes a remark that property owners usually stick around.
Kevin arrives at the hospital and asks J.T. where everyone is. J.T. explains that Victoria is undergoing a test right now. When Kevin offers support, J.T. informs him that they might have to do a c-section and they don't know if the baby would survive. He shares that in his mind the baby's already born, he is visibly torn up as he tells Kevin about the deals he's been making with God. Kevin reassures J.T. and says he needs to take a call at the desk...

At the restaurant, Nick is speaking to Phyllis on the phone. She is trying to be optimistic about the chances for preemies. She agonizes about wishing she could be with him. He tells her that her love is what is getting him through this. Nick returns to the dinner table and says, "Phyllis says hello." Nikki says she's glad they can be together right now - she's your wife... Talk turns to Victoria and the baby, and Victor states that he feels they're in excellent hands. Nick mentions that Noah was a preemie too, and reminds them how worried they all were then. Victor says one day Victoria and her son will be at the ranch and he'll teach him to ride.
When the nurse comes out of Victoria's room, J.T. jumps up and asks how it's going. The nurse shakes his head, "Sorry, I can't tell you anything." J.T. deflates.

Gloria tells Kevin, that if it's true Jeffrey suspects her, the way to be sure is for her to test the cream he gave her - on herself! Kevin disagrees vehemently, "A woman was burned by that! What are you doing?!" He is positively frantic as Gloria opens the jar and smears the cream across her wrist with a Q-tip!
Gloria says the cream is tingling a little, and Kevin repeatedly asks, "How about now?" She becomes a little impatient, "Kevin, give it a minute!"
Brad comes into the waiting area with Abby. The desk nurse says the doctor is still with Victoria but offers some writing supplies to keep Abby busy while they wait. Brad asks her if she wants to change her mind about seeing Victoria. She doesn't. He tells her she was born in that very hospital. She likes knowing that. Brad tries to be reassuring about the baby being safe and comfy in Victoria's tummy.
Colleen goes over to J.T. and asks if there's anything she can do. He explains about the test they're doing and expresses his feeling that Dr. Webb is the best, but he's worried about how long it's taking. As Nikki, Victor and Nick return from their meal, the doctor emerges from Victoria's room. Unfortunately there will be more waiting as he first wants to upload the information he's gathered to another specialist before he renders an opinion. There are anxious sighs all around...
A triumphant Gloria tells Kevin there's no reaction! She says it proves Jeffrey is toying with her. Kevin adds, "And taping you!" Gloria ignores him, figuring out loud that this means Jeffrey must have the toxic cream for evidence. She glowers, "I'm going to get that cream no matter what I have to do!"

Abby stands at Victoria's bedside and talks to her, telling her how much she loves her, and offers her a drawing she made of a dreamcatcher to stop her and the baby from having any bad dreams.

Outside the room, Dr. Webb breaks the news that he does not feel that the fetus is currently capable of living outside the womb - he needs at least two weeks... When pressed for further reassurances, he tells the group that he can offer no guarantees. J.T. tells him to do whatever it takes! Victor orders the doctor to stay at the hospital 24 hours a day and to make sure his daughter and the baby survive this. Dr. Webb agrees. The group, including Phyllis via cell phone, digest the sobering news in silence.
