After Phyllis is found guilty, Noah takes it out on Sharon, and Jack becomes suspicious of Sharon...

In court, Phyllis stands as the jury says, “We the jury find Phyllis Newman guilty on the charge of extortion.” After Michael pulls the jury, they all state whether or not it was their verdict as Phyllis watches on in distress. Once the jury is dismissed, although Michael asks the judge for bail, Heather asks that Phyllis be reprimanded to jail for fear that Phyllis and Daniel will run away from both of their charges together!

Throughout Genoa City, residents watch the news and hear that Phyllis Newman has been found guilty.

While the judge is in his chambers making a decision, Jack expresses to Sharon, “I never thought she’d be found guilty…” Nick watches on as Daniel holds Phyllis close in an attempt to comfort his mother. Ultimately, the judge comes back and grants Phyllis bail if she turns in her passport and checks in daily with the court. Once court is over, Jack approaches Phyllis and says, “I can’t believe they found you guilty,” and Phyllis replies, “I bet your wife can. She helped them.” With only Summer on her mind, when Phyllis expresses needing to be with her, Nick stands up and says, “I’ll take you home.” Before leaving, Michael explains to Phyllis, “I’m going to do everything I can to get this verdict overturned.”

Just as Sharon and Jack are leaving, Nick stops them with worry that Noah will hear about the verdict before they can tell him and says, “I want to be there when you tell him.” As Sharon agrees to call Nick the minute they arrive home, Nick gives Jack a sideward glance, causing Jack to look intently back and forth from Nick to Sharon.

As everyone is trying to figure out the best way to get Phyllis out of the courthouse without being hounded by the press, Sharon suggests going out the back door, which causes Phyllis to act out screaming, “I bet you can’t wait to go home and gloat!” As the two women get caught up in a screaming match, Jack tries to pull Sharon away but she has none of it and speaks her peace claiming, “You’re getting everything you deserve!” Finally, Nick says, “Sharon, that’s enough,” then takes Phyllis home.

At the apartment, after hearing Phyllis’s guilty verdict, Devon tells Neil and Lily how much he hopes Phyllis pays for what she did with hopes of seeing her behind bars for Dru! Leaning over Devon’s shoulder, Neil and Lily listen on as Devon reads the breaking news stating Phyllis’s crimes and connection to Dru’s fall. However, reading that Phyllis is now out on bail causes vengeance to tear through Devon! Neil then states that he wants his family to start a new year… today… making it the official Winters New Year. After Lily digs up some old New Year’s Eve party favors, the family reminisces about Dru and her beliefs. “Hey mom,” Devon looks up. “Hear the news? Phyllis was convicted. Happy New Year.” Neil makes Devon aware of what a great gift he was to Dru and their family.

In the break room, when Brad asks Nikki if she’s happy with herself because of Phyllis’s verdict, Nikki claims they did the right thing and says Phyllis deserves everything she got! After Brad leaves, Victor arrives and asks Nikki, “Does your family deserve to get hurt because of your spite?” Although Nikki blames Victor for not backing her on the board vote, Victor continues, “You may have put your grandchild’s mother in jail! You are responsible for that!”

At The Club, Daniel explains all the court happens to Gina as she tries to comfort her nephew. Over more talk of Phyllis, Gina reminds Daniel that he needs to fight for his trial too. Just then, Daniel spots Lily getting some takeout and approaches her… After a very brief conversation, to which Lily and Daniel both agree they’re glad the trial is over, Lily leaves…

Jack and Sharon reach Crimson Lights and Jack says, “Phyllis shouldn’t have come after you like that, but she doesn’t deserve to be locked up.” Livid, Sharon can’t believe, after all Phyllis has done, that Jack would defend her!

When Phyllis and Nick arrive at Newman to pick up Summer, Nikki gloats to Phyllis and says, “Spend all the time with her that you can.” Suddenly, Nick steps up and demands that Nikki show his wife some respect!

In the break room, after Nick leaves Phyllis with Summer, in order to pick up some work, Brad appears and reminds Phyllis that not even the great Michael Baldwin will be able to get her out of this one! However, Phyllis snaps and reminds Brad what he’s lost then says with a smile, “You’re going to lose everything you own.”

After Brad leaves, when Michael calls to check in with Phyllis he advises, “Be with your daughter…forget about the trial for tonight.” Just then, Victor joins Phyllis and Summer and says, “They shouldn’t have convicted you today. I blame my wife and Brad Carlton.” Although Phyllis cries, “I should’ve taken a plea bargain. I should’ve listened to you,” Victor smiles at Summer then replies, “You took a chance.” A chance Phyllis admits… she lost.

When Jack and Sharon pick up Noah at Newman, he already knows about the verdict and snaps on Sharon! Blaming Sharon’s testimony as the reason why Phyllis may go to jail, Noah screams, “I hate you. I want my dad. I don’t want to live with you anymore.” Although Jack says, by law, Sharon had to testify, Noah replies, “You’re lying.” However, through careful words, Jack explains Phyllis’s case then says, “Your mom is not to blame. Your mom didn’t want to hurt Phyllis.” When Noah asks Sharon if that’s true, Sharon replies, “Absolutely.” After Noah leaves, Sharon thanks Jack, who replies, “For what? Lying to Noah?” Sharon questions whether Jack blames Sharon as well!

At the coffeehouse, Michael holds Fen close then tells Lauren, “The thought of being without Fen for years… Phyllis needs to be with Summer and I’m going to make that happen.” Although Lauren reminds Michael that Phyllis is guilty, Michael refuses to give up on her but promises to forget the case for one night.

When Daniel arrives at the tack house for dinner, they all agree to no trial talk. While Nick and Daniel make family plans, Phyllis messes up dinner. Although Nick offers to make something else, Phyllis sighs, “Time… There’s no time.” After Daniel takes Summer upstairs, Phyllis confesses to Nick that she never thought she would see Summer again – except from a jail cell. “Why do I do this?” Phyllis begs in tears. “My baby girl… my son… who’s going to help my son if I’m not here.” As Phyllis rants on, Nick holds her close and promises, “I support you. I’m going to look out for you and your son. I plan to be around to help you both any way I can.” Phyllis kisses Nick with thanks…

At the courthouse, just as Heather is leaving, Brad stops her and tells the DA that Phyllis was about to leave town – with no intentions of coming back!
