Jack tells Traci big news, Kyle wants to surprise Summer, and Dylan tells Chelsea all.
At home, Chelsea gets a call from Chloe who wonders why she's not at work. Chelsea says it's not a good time. She hangs up and turns back to Dylan who is about to talk about Afghanistan. He says Sharon knows some, but nobody really knows all of it - not even him. He explains how he got to know Sharon and Faith, and Faith reminded him of a little girl in Afghanistan, Aura, whose family saved his life - but it cost them theirs. "They're all dead because of me." He talks about his unit being ambushed and Sully dying while following his orders. "It should have been me." Chelsea said he survived for a reason. He says he later saved Aura; he thought that was the reason he'd lived, but when they found a safe zone, she'd died. Chelsea likens it to her baby dying even though she and Adam didn't have a scratch on them. "It didn't seem fair." She muses that maybe they went through it all to end up there, with their baby.
At the Abbott house, Jack leaves another urgent message for Kyle. Traci enters and finds Jack fondling a bottle of scotch. He blurts that he's Summer's father, not Nick. He adds that Phyllis knew for the past few weeks and didn't say anything. Traci rants that Nick was playing God and realizes Kyle will have to be told he's been dating his sister. Jack grumbles that Phyllis thought he would relapse. Traci says she'll never get to see Colleen get married or have children, but it's not too late for him.
Kyle tries to talk to a tense Billy at Boulevard. He asks to use the restaurant after-hours to make things up to Summer. Billy advises him to make a grand gesture and gives him the keys.
At the penthouse, Summer thanks Phyllis for bringing her there - she's not ready to see Jack. Nick arrives. Summer hollers that he can't fix this and tells him to stop calling her his daughter. Phyllis says Summer loves Nick and is still his daughter regardless of the test. Summer says she and Jack will never know what their lives would have been like. Once alone, Phyllis assures Nick it's impossible for Summer to wipe out all the years and feelings. She says he doesn't have to stop loving her, just take a step back. He goes. Later, Summer gets a text from Kyle.
Chloe is trying to decipher Chelsea's handwriting at work when Billy arrives. He apologizes for being late and hungover at breakfast. He knows Delia deserves better. Chloe suggests he not wallow in guilt. He doesn't want her to put a positive spin on it. She says it will happen again unless he goes to meetings. He tells her Vikki saw him get his winnings. Chloe offers her support. She holds his face and tells him he's a good father, a good man. She kisses him and then apologizes. He appreciates her trying to make him feel better. Billy leaves to find a meeting.
At the tackhouse, Sharon tells Faith she'll cook. Faith asks if Daddy can marry her instead of Avery so they can be together all the time. Sharon says they were married and now they're friends instead. Faith wants them to live together. Nick arrives and Faith goes to wash. Sharon asks about Summer. Nick says she's home, but hates him. Sharon can't imagine it; he's her father. "No I'm not." He explains what he did. Sharon says she understands. Nick says no one else does. They hug. After, Nick goes out. Faith asks again about being a family. Sharon says, "Leave that to me."
Phyllis arrives in the Abbott house in time to hear Jack complaining to Traci about her. Phyllis says she was afraid he would relapse. Traci says Phyllis is right - he was staring at the scotch when she came in. Jack admits he wanted a drink - because of the agony of Phyllis not telling him. Phyllis assures him she loves him. Traci says Phyllis is coming from the right place and leaves. Phyllis tells Jack it wasn't just him she was concerned about - it was Summer's reaction. Jack tears up when she calls Summer 'our' daughter. Phyllis says they all have to live with what happened - she just wants Summer and Jack to be safe. The doorbell rings - it's Nick.
Summer arrives at Boulevard and Kyle greets her with flowers. He says he's crazy about her. She cries. He blurts about kissing Phyllis. Summer reacts, but then tells him they can never date; he's her brother. "It's a long story." Kyle takes off.
