Summer hears about Cassie, Michael calls it quits, and Cane plans a party.
At home, Michael listens as Lauren tells Fen they are staying together because they want to work things out. Fen doesn't buy it. He wants to know what happened, and why they can't stand to be in the same room. Fen storms off because they won't be straight with him. Michael tells Lauren there's no longer a reason to stay together. Lauren urges him to try to get past what happened. She tries to kiss him. He stops her. She says Carmine meant nothing to her. Michael can't forgive her; he's having divorce papers drawn up.
At Boulevard, Phyllis tells Carmine that Lauren and Michael are her best friends and plan to stay together. He asks if that's Lauren talking or her. Phyllis asks, "Are you telling me this affair isn't over?" Carmine won't discuss his relationship with her. Phyllis smirks, "That was sex." She tells him it's over. He says, "Be sure and tell Lauren that."
At home, Cane decorates for the surprise party. Neil and Leslie wonder if she'll be surprised. Cane guarantees it; she thinks he's in Chicago. Devon arrives. He mentions Lily was still at the office with Tyler. Neil explains that they convinced Tyler to stay. Devon announces he'll be taking over for Lily. Neil and Roxy take Devon aside. He explains that he decided to stay because he doesn't like the way Tyler looked at Lily. Roxy's upset that his decision had nothing to do with her.
Lily decides to join Tyler for a drink at Boulevard. She's disturbed that Cane hasn't called her. Oliver joins them. Lily compliments him on his photos. He's surprised to hear that Lily's no longer on the line. They pour wine and Lily awkwardly tries to explain why she's leaving the team. She stumbles on her way to the restroom and giggles. She misses a call from Cane.
At Crimson Lights, Chloe and Kevin debate about selling the place. Chloe says it's ceased to be relevant. Kevin says there's another way. She hits him upside of the head. He asks, "What if I guarantee you I won't get caught?" Chloe's incensed. He claims to have been kidding. Chloe takes a call. Fen arrives. He sits down and texts Carmine. When Carmine arrives, Fen complains that his parents' troubles make no sense to him. No one will tell him the whole story. Lauren appears. Fen sees the look between her and Carmine. Carmine exits quickly. Lauren talks to Fen and then goes. Fen thinks.
Nick makes a call about the paternity test from the tackhouse. Sharon arrives. Summer comes in and warns Nick not to ask if she's dating Kyle. She asks why Sharon's there; she's not her mom. Sharon says she was the mother of another teenage girl; Cassie. Phyllis arrives. Nick tells Summer they've never told her the whole story behind Cassie's death. They tell her about all the people who were affected. Phyllis shares an email from Daniel describing the pain and regret he still feels. It reveals that Cassie had a crush on him. Nick says they're trying to show that actions have consequences; a ripple effect. Sharon reflects on what one impulsive act can destroy. Phyllis and Nick ask Summer to listen to what they're telling her; what Cassie's telling her. She apologizes. Sharon watches as the three embrace. Later, Phyllis and Nick discuss how the pain he was in after Cassie died led to Summer's birth. Sharon listens as he says he wouldn't change that for anything.
Still at home, Cane wonders why Lily's not answering her phone. Neil asks Leslie where Tyler is. Devon and Roxy are still bickering. Devon reassures her; where she is, is where he wants to be. Later, Cane tells everyone, "She's here!" They hide. The door opens and a drunk Lily and Tyler enter arm-in-arm as everyone yells, "Surprise!"
At Michael's place, Kevin helps his brother pack. They talk about how blindsided Michael was by the whole Carmine thing. Later, Lauren returns and asks Michael to wait a month to file. Michael leaves.
At Crimson Lights, Chloe gets a call from Delia's friend's mother about a missing doll. She finds it in Delia's backpack and reads her the riot act. Nearby, Fen spots Summer arriving. They clear the air. Summer mentions her parents being honest with her today.
At Boulevard, Carmine looks at a photo of Lauren sleeping.
