At Billy and Victoria's house, Kyle listens as Vikki tries to convince Billy to take part in an intervention to help Jack. Billy agrees to try. Phyllis arrives and they tell her they need her too. Vikki advises them to say how hurt they are instead of coming down on Jack. They decide to contact someone else for help.

Avery sees Nick's poster for the opening of The Underground at her place and is excited. Nick takes a call from Victor, who demands he come to the Club. Nick tells Avery it's the last time.

At the Abbott mansion, Kyle's friend sells Jack some pills. Jack says it's a one-time only thing. The young man smirks.

At the Club, Victor spots Jack and they spar verbally. Jack tells him he won't be able to count on Adam to get Newman back. Victor says he's doing a good job losing it on his own and comments on what John would think of him being a drug addict. Nick appears and Jack leaves. Nick tells Victor he'll be leading his own life now, not coming whenever he blows his whistle. Victor says he's concerned about the welfare of his grandchildren. Nick suggests he back off Sharon, and complains he likes to see people fail.

Jack arrives at home to find Kyle, Billy, Neil, and Phyllis waiting. Jack tells them if this is an intervention they're wasting their time. He tries to leave. Billy asks why he's running. Phyllis calls Jack out on the lies he's told. Neil and Billy tell him they both got help. Kyle describes how he feels, having already lost Diane. Neil pleads with Jack, "Come to a meeting." Jack hollers that he's done now - he's clean! Neil shares his own dark experiences while drinking - one of his drinking buddies robbed his apartment and attacked Lily. Jack insists he's not like that; he's not sick! Billy says he is. Jack rolls his eyes and attacks Billy, who reminds Jack how he helped him stop gambling. Billy says he needs that strong Jack. Jack orders them out and says they're all fired! Once alone, Jack takes pills and calls Adam to get over to the house.

At the tackhouse, Noah tells Alex the last time he saw Adriana was when he found her with another guy. Alex continues to grill him on whether he's talked to her lately. Sharon arrives. Alex greets 'Mrs. Newman'. Sharon asks who he is, but Noah says he's leaving. After, Sharon grills Noah, who admits Alex is a cop asking questions about a girl he knew in New York. Sharon says Alex probably see what she does - that he still cares about Adriana and would help her. Nick arrives and Sharon tells him she may become the Face of Jabot again. Nick worries it's too much. Sharon thinks she's ready. After, Nick tells Noah he doesn't want Sharon to have a setback.

Victoria runs into Avery in Crimson Lights. Avery says she's having a good time with Nick. Victoria hopes she's not with him just to stick it to Phyllis. Avery says she didn't go looking for this, and talks about how happy Nick makes her. Victoria thinks Avery's falling in love. Nick arrives and Vikki leaves. Nick tells Avery he has a surprise for her on New Year's.

Sharon meets Cane at the Club for her interview - he's filling in for Neil. They discuss her becoming the Face of Jabot again. Sharon assures him that her unsuccessful run at Newman is behind her. Cane says he'll see what he can do. After, Sharon runs into Victor and makes nice, but Victor isn't interested. She tells him she knows about his deal with Adam. Victor says Adam won't be able to protect her from arson charges - he's only interested in protecting himself.

At home, Vikki tells Billy she loves him for what he did, and deep down, Jack does too.

Kyle, Phyllis, and Neil convene at the Club to discuss Jack. Neil says Jack hasn't bottomed out yet.

At the penthouse, Victor's investigator tells him he's been unable to connect Adam to the fires. Victor has a new focus for him for now.

Genoa City Spoilers for Next Week on The Young and the Restless:

Tyler talks to Lily about Cane.

Katherine tells Tucker if he really wants to kiss and make up, he won't mind if Victor joins them for dinner.

Jack tells Adam, "You hadn't chosen a side yet, but you just did, didn't you?"

Wonder if Friend of Jill Steve Burton will arrive in Genoa City as the drug kingpin who is going to help Victor keep Jack hooked on painkillers. Of course, things COULD get worse - as soon as General Hospital ends up being axed for good. THEN a whole lot of "Friends of Jill" will be eager to move to Genoa City. If Steve Burton arrives as a drug king pin, how long will it be before Maurice Bernard turns up in town as the Big Boss, for whom The Super Drug King Pin does the Enforcing! Good-bye Young and Restless. Hello - Friends of Jill Refugee Center!

This is really one of the best shows I have watched in a very LONG time. And even Victurd out did his self on being an azz. But Jack topped him today. Great acting by all.

I'm shocked that Vikki wants to help with an intervention for Jack. Wow, what will her daddy think.

Jack, how many one time buys are you going to have? Lord I hope this intervention thing works, but I don't think it will. As I read a little further, I see it was a waste of time.

Is Victor crazy? I mean really, he is concerned about the welfare of his grandchildren so much that wants to put their mother in jail.

Intervention was great; could it just POSSIBLY BE that the writers are leaning in the direction I've been preaching...have Dr.Emily return to straighten out Jack (literally that is). I hope everyone continues to support or bug him; perhaps drag him to those meetings too?

Oh, so Jabot going into a senior anti-aging line huh? That's good. I hope Sharon does well, but I'd rather have seen Abby fill that spot. Anxious for her return. Could Adriana be involved with some of the same folks Carmine would know? Just wondering if there's a storyline that will involve him as well? He and Abby were so cute together...and loved it that them being together upset ole Victor the Dictator.

Nick doing his own thing? Great. Spoilers say Victoria finds it impossible to distance herself from her Dad and will once again try to help get N.E. Sure hope Billy won't dance to that tune again; Abbots need to be a strong force again. Why does Jack summon Adam? Jack has few friends and I hope the writers build a good relationship between these two.

Yeh, nothing connects Adam/Sharon to the fires. I'm saying one else has paid for their crimes, so why should Sharon?!

Is Nick's club opening on New Years Eve? Wow, he must have paid extremely well for everything to get done that quickly.

Loved Jill/Tucker/Kathrine yesterday. I cannot believe the writers (spoiler/rumor) are planning on Tucker dying! Actually as much as we love Kathrine Chancellor, it should be her passing (really retiring) and NOT Tucker who could carry on her legacy...with Jill by his side. If Tucker dies, would he leave his fortune to Devon, Kathrine, Jill, or perhaps a surprise...Ashley?

Why no storyline for Paul recently? We see him "in the background"....bring him forward especially with this Kevin/Chloe/ Noah/Adriana storyline developing. When is Christine coming back? Wondering if she'll run for D.A. job AGAINST Michael when that election comes up? Since he was appointed "temp" till then.

It's gonna get even more interesting around G.C. when Avery's MIA lover returns (rumored).

Kathrine, you are so wrong inviting Victor to your personal one-on-one dinner with your son Tucker! I don't see how this can turn out well! Tucker wanted it personal, to finally work things out and admit the love is there between you two.
This has nothing to do with Victor. I'm very disappointed in Kathrine's behavior regarding making up with Tucker.

Good show. Wow. Peter Bergman really hit it out of the ballpark today, like he always does. And Blake Hood as Kyle is really starting to gel. He is channeling the pain of losing his Mom pretty well, and it is believable.

I am looking forward to this Steven guy coming from GH. Hopefully he will be involved with organized crime. It seems to have worked on GH for years, and I am feeling that Y&R could really use that type of story-line.

And, of course, seeing Victor squirm, semi-suffer, and pay for some of his sins of the past, is making me like Joshua Griffith just a little bit more.

Victor is angry with Sharon, so all of a sudden he is concerned about his grandchild. Too bad he wasn't concerned about her a year ago when he twisted a judge's arm and made him grant custody of Faith to that unstable woman. Vic is only concerned when it suits him. Poor little Hope has been jerked back and forth between parens so long it's a shame.

I'm disgusted with Sharon, but i would love to see her get some thorough treatment, and start her life over. I don't think she needs a job right now. I think she needs to get mental help first, then find a job. The first step in her treatment plan should be to stay as far away from Adam as she can. Adam is an enabler, and means her no good.

It's hard for me to feel sorry for Jack. He has always been a greedy character who puts himself first. Of course, that also describes Victor. Jack got Jabot back, but that wasn't enough. Because Nikki kicked him to the curb he had to take Newman from Vic. Now he has everything that he always wanted, but he is messed up physically, and he's all alone. His choices about women and business have always been motivated by competition and revenge. He was hurt when Nikki left him to go looking for Vic, but he knew when he married her that she stil loved Vic, but he had to take her from him. That really worked out well for you, didn't it Jack.

I hope Steve Burton comes to Y&R as a totally different kind of character. People tend to get type-cast in daytime. I would love to see him as a powerful attorney or as a doctor who will help Jack heal. I don't want him to be connected to the mob again.

I never liked Tucker so i don't care if his character dies or not. He has brought nothing to the show but trouble, and his mannerisms bother me. I know that mannerisms shouldn't matter, but Adam also has that habit of grimacing and biting his bottom lip that bothers me.

I want Adam and Chelsea to reconcile, but after yesrerday, Chelsea is not going to be the consolation prize. I just don't want him getting back with Sharon. When Sharon sees Adam for all that he has done to her and her family, then and only then will I be convinced that she is getting the proper mental help. Only a mentlly unstable woman would want to have anything to do with a man who stole her baby. As long as she is drawn to Adam, I will be convinced that she is still unstable.

I agree with DA_KID on the Steve Burton character thingy ... Steve Burton did NOT start out on GH as a mobster .. .he was a Quartermaine who had a brain injury at the hands of his brother and never remembered who he was .... then, eventually, his memory came back but he was truly enshrined in the mob by then and regretted it ... and it only worked on GH for a while because they used the mobster angle too much and the rating took a nose dive ...

Y&R does not need mobsters ... this isn't that kind of show
