Adam and Victor have an encounter, Sharon is under suspicion, and Chelsea and Chloe bond.
Victor encounters Adam at the Club and confronts him about working for Jack. They spar. Adam congratulates Victor on getting engaged to Nikki for the 148th time. Victor cracks, "How's your marriage, son? Keeping your pregnant wife occupied?" Adam's eyes fill with tears and he informs Victor that's cruel - they lost the baby when Summer ran them off the road. Stunned, Victor says he hadn't heard. Adam muses that the universe took an eye for an eye. Victor tells Adam he wouldn't wish it on anyone - he has his sympathies. Nikki appears as Adam goes. Victor reprimands Nikki about not telling him about the accident and miscarriage. She apologizes and says she has the fire report. Adam listens from around the corner as Victor learns it was arson. Nikki wonders where Sharon was that night. Later, Nikki speculates that Sharon had access and bitter resentment - this was personal. Victor decides to hire an investigator.
Adam arrives home to find Chelsea saying she's not smart enough to take his position at Tag 'n' Grab. Adam says it's not true - he just couldn't handle Kevin being surly and rude with her. He promises to be wildly supportive when she finds something she's passionate about. They kiss.
At Crimson Lights, Avery flashes to serving Nick cupcakes while Chloe serves her. Chloe trades the beverage for legal advice - she made a deal with the devil, but doesn't want out - she wants to stay in. She fills Avery in, adding that she proposed Chelsea take Adam's position. Avery confirms there's nothing to prevent him from taking out his money. Chloe muses, "We're at the mercy of Adam Newman." After, Chelsea enters and tells Chloe she can't take the position. Chloe understands and feels responsible for forcing Kevin to accept Adam's investment. While chatting they learn they both love fashion. Chelsea says she used to make reconstructed fashions. Chloe asks to see pictures.
At the tackhouse, Nick and Noah speculate on Sharon having a smoky sweater and if she could have set the fire. Nick says the investigator's report will be out today. They talk about Avery. Nick says she has integrity. Nikki arrives and Noah goes to check on Faith. Nikki asks Nick about Sharon. He says she's out of town. Nikki says the fire was deliberately set. They agree Sharon's a likely suspect. Nikki sees nothing left of the Sharon he once loved. Nick asks her not to say anything to Noah. Nikki says Sharon is a danger to everyone around her - she should have been locked up. Later, Noah gets an 'I miss you' text on his phone. He phones the person and leaves a message that he misses them too.
At the ranch, the inspector confirms Victor's suspicions, saying an liquid accelerant was used and it could have been done out of hate. Later, Nick and Nikki come to dig around. They all discuss Sharon. Nick cracks that all the women with crazy sides have Victor in common. Nick leaves. The inspector finds a bracelet. Victor says he may be partly responsible for what happened here - he gave that bracelet to Sharon. Nikki vows that she'll pay.
In the cottage, Sharon seems mesmerized by the flame of her match. When it goes out she goes back beneath her blanket. She is dreaming about the ranch fire when Adam appears with a doctor. Sharon's upset. The doctor goes, telling Adam he was right - she needs help. Adam tells Sharon that the fire's been ruled arson and her name came up. He wants to establish an alibi, but warns her to stay in the cottage until then.
Chelsea shows Chloe her design photos at home. Chloe says she's really good and could do this for a living. Chelsea thinks she could work in the cottage on the property. The decide to go check it out.
Nick finds Avery at Crimson Lights. She asks if he's okay. Nick tells her he's having a very bad day. She suggests they meet for dinner later at her place.
Alone in the cottage, Sharon paces and rocks. Chelsea and Chloe arrive outside.
At Jimmy's bar, Adam tells a man to torch some buildings and make it look like arson started with tequila. The man thinks he's setting someone up. Adam says it's the opposite.
Genoa City Spoilers for Tomorrow on The Young and the Restless:
Chelsea says to Chloe, "Do you feel that? Like someone's been here?"
Genevieve tells Tucker she needs his help. He tells her the bank's closed.
Jack tells Adam he will be acting as CEO during his brief absence. Phyllis says, "You're joking, right?"
