Summer turns to Avery, Phyllis realizes it's over, and Sharon panics.
Phyllis arrives in Jack's office where he urges her to accept his job offer - it's a life vest and she's drowning in her personal life. Later, Jack downs pain pills. John appears and says it's payback time - he's crossed the line and his body knows it, even if he doesn't want to admit it. They argue intensely, with John urging Jack to see a doctor and Jack hollering that he's not afraid of anything. John disappears.
In the cottage, Sharon frantically moves furniture around and begins to freak out. "Adam, where's the phone!"
Adam arrives at home, where Chelsea confronts him about lying - she knows he wasn't with Jack because she called the office. Adam lies that he met Jack at Gloworm. Chelsea reminds him they fell in love because they couldn't shock the other and didn't keep secrets. She asks if he blames her for losing their son, or if there's someone else. He says no, but Chelsea insists there is something going on and storms out. Sharon appears and flips on Adam for lying to Chelsea. She says the hiding is driving her crazy - she has to confess to Victor. Adam insists she let things blow over and trust him. Sharon says she's a wall between him and Chelsea - she won't make things worse. Later, Chelsea returns, saying she just wants to be with Adam. They kiss and Adam leaves to get dinner.
At the tackhouse, Phyllis tells Nick that Jack offered her a job. She offers to work on the inside for Nick so he can get Newman back. Nick says he doesn't want Newman back - she needs to move on with her life. They bicker. Phyllis admits she was selfish and stubborn in her decisions, but thought Nick would stand beside her. He says they used up their chances. Phyllis says she'll give him a divorce. Nick assures her that she and Summer will find their way back. Phyllis tearfully says she thought it would be as a family. She leaves. Summer comes downstairs. Nick talks to her about their family rearranging. He says it's okay for her to admit she loves her mother. Summer tells him not to ask her to forgive her when he can't.
At the Club, Ronan tells Avery she can stop hating on him - Phyllis broke it off. He notes that things are heating up between her and Nick. Ronan says he broke Nick and Phyllis up and Avery's reaping the rewards. Avery snipes at him, but he shrugs that he admits he wants Phyllis - he doesn't want Nick to take her back anymore than Avery does. Later, Ronan runs into Phyllis. She says she got a job offer and came to terms with the death of her marriage. He asks her to dinner. She says no but suggests he keep trying. Phyllis leaves Summer a tearful message that she loves her.
Summer goes to Avery's house in tears. Avery hugs her, and then Summer tells her she wants to file for emancipation. Avery says she can't represent her, but will help her. She then makes her bake. After, Avery tells her that emancipation means she has to support herself - is she ready for all of that? Summer agrees she's not. Avery says she's a good girl who's hurting - she doesn't want her to make a decision that will hurt her more. Summer wishes her mom was like Avery. Later, Nick stops by and Avery fills him in. Nick's nervous to eat her cupcakes. She tells him to bite it.
Sharon appears at Newman looking for Victor. She asks Jack what's going on. He tells her she drove Newman into the ground and he was there to pick up the pieces. She also learns that he fired Vikki and Nick. Sharon is leaving as Adam arrives. He takes her out.
Jack meets Phyllis at the Club and asks about the text she sent. He asks if she's coming to work at Newman. She realizes he's in pain and asks what's going on.
Back in the cottage, Sharon rants about everyone hating her and the loss of the Newman legacy being her fault. Adam calms her down. He says, "You have me." He holds her and she begs him not to let go.
At home, Chelsea is dressed up, lighting candles, and awaiting Adam's return.

Phyllis says to Jack, "It looks like someone is putting a stake through your spine. Why are you not being straight with me?"
Victor tells Nick he took the easy route in deciding not to fight for his family's company.
Billy tells Victoria he's going to resign from Newman.
