Ronan says his goodbyes, Chelsea has a change of heart, and Ricky writes his story.
At Vikki's house, Chelsea listens to her talk to Reed by phone. Chelsea says it must be hard losing your kid. Vikki says she didn't lose anything. Billy appears and Chelsea tells him Vikki doesn't want to join them at the ultrasound. Billy pulls Vikki aside to ask her to hang in there.
In the padded cell, Paul tells Patty she's not going home - they can't let her hurt anyone again. Patty laughs that she'd never hurt Jack. She's cuffed to be taken to the prison hospital. Paul promises to visit. They both cry as she goes.
Ronan writes 'self-defense' under Nikki's photo on the suspect board in his office. Walsh appears and says he's charging her today. Ronan argues it's not justice - he doesn't want to leave knowing things aren't the way they should be.
At Crimson Lights, Nikki tells Nick and Phyllis she could be arrested anytime. Ricky is nearby. Nick tells Nikki that he claims to have been with Patty and wants to write a story. Nikki confronts Ricky, telling him an article would hurt a lot of people. Ricky says it never stopped Phyllis or Nick before. Nick says they need to get the charges dropped before Ricky writes anything. Ronan appears and says it doesn't look good. Phyllis and Ronan talk about him leaving town. She encourages him to work things out with Nina. He says she's not the problem. Phyllis muses that he likes building walls. He says goodbye and he'll miss her. Paul enters and Ricky asks if he'll ever trust him. Paul says he doesn't know. Ricky returns to his laptop and starts writing about Patty.
At their appointment, Vikki, Billy, and Chelsea see the baby and hear the heartbeat - it's a boy. Chelsea tells the doctor that she's not their surrogate and that Vikki can't give Billy a baby. Vikki stalks out with Billy behind her. He promises Chelsea won't give her any more crap. Chelsea listens as they kiss and make up. Billy tells Chelsea they'll talk at home.
In the hospital, Jack snaps at his physiotherapist. Emily arrives and they talk about his anger. She confirms it wasn't her who asked him not to marry Genevieve. Phyllis and Nick arrive. Phyllis tells Emily to go - Jack doesn't need to see that face. Jack says goodbye to Emily and Jack tells Phyllis she's overprotective. Phyllis says she wants to scream at everyone who put him there. Nick tells Jack about Ricky wanting to write a story. Jack is glad Phyllis said no - Patty doesn't need that. Phyllis can't believe he's concerned about Patty. Phyllis takes a call and learns that Ricky ran the story. They speculate on why he did it.
At the Chancellor Estate, Jill and Nina discuss Ronan leaving. Jill says she's learned you can't push sons - they have to come to you. Just then, Ronan arrives. Nina tells him it's hard not knowing where your child is at. She gets teary, and Paul arrives. Ronan says he has to go. Nina walks him out and they embrace and cry. Nina rejoins Paul, who talks about Patty. Paul gets a message that Ricky published his article. The doorbell rings - Nina receives a package from Ronan. It's a new copy of the book she wrote about him with a note inside saying he could never find the right words to tell her how grateful he is for finding him. It's signed, "I love you, Mom."
At home, Billy reads Chelsea the riot act about hurting Vikki with her bitchy little digs. Chelsea stuns them by saying she envies what they have and she thinks they should raise the baby. The doorbell rings - it's Jill. Vikki tells her Chelsea wants them to raise the baby. Jill is wary, but Chelsea insists she's sincere. Billy is about to call Michael when the doorbell rings repeatedly. Jill opens the door to Chelsea's mom!
Nick is with Nikki at Gloworm when Walsh enters with officers. Walsh tells Nikki all charges have been dropped - she can thank Malloy.
Eden joins Ricky on the patio. He shows her his article on True Crime Blogs. She wonders why he's not celebrating.
Locked into her cell, Patty calls for her kitty and cries.
At the station, Ronan dismantles the suspect board, and looks at his old copy of Nina's book in his box, before leaving.
