The Cat Came Back. Thursday, January 05 2012

Jack saves Genevieve, Victoria confronts Victor, and Nick goes to court with Sharon.

At Restless Style, Phyllis works with Harmony to get the issue to press. Ronan appears, congratulates her, and asks if she still wants to work with him in Diane's case. Phyllis agrees and tells him about Victor proposing to Sharon. Ronan wonders what that accomplishes for him.

At Jack's house, he and Kyle talk about how Dave the cat came back. They discuss Kyle's new school. Jack assures him he can come home if he doesn't like it. Kyle gives the thumbs up on Genevieve.

In the prison, Michael argues with Victor about his proposal to Sharon. Michael gets a letter, which Victor asks him to take to Judge Waterson immediately. When Michael returns, he assures Victor the judge has cleared his schedule to deal with his request.

On the patio of Crimson Lights, Billy tells Vikki they'll have the DNA results today. Vikki gets a message that the adoption agency wants them to meet the birth mother next week. Billy promises to get everything under control. Inside, Avery tells Sharon she broke up with Nick. She asks about Sharon's ring. Sharon admits it's from Victor, and explains she plans to turn him down. Sharon wanders outside, where Vikki confronts her. Sharon insists that getting married was all Victor's idea. Michael finds Sharon later, and tells her there's an emergency custody hearing for Faith.

At the Club, Deacon asks Nikki if she wants to go out tonight. She apologizes for disappearing on New Year's Eve. Nick arrives and Nikki rushes over to tell him about Chelsea. They end up discussing Sharon and Victor. Nikki thinks she has a good idea what's in Victor's mind. Over at the table, Deacon sees Nikki's prison visitor's pass in her purse. Later, Avery arrives and makes awkward conversation with Nick. He's served with custody papers. Avery says she'll represent him.

At Genevieve's house, a technician assures her that there's nothing wrong with her alarm system. She wonders why it was going on and off then. Genevieve heads upstairs, vowing to find out. Patty picks up a tool of some sort. When Genevieve comes downstairs she falls, but Jack comes in and saves her. Patty is frustrated.

Paul asks Ricky, at Gloworm, what his plans are now that Sharon's been exonerated. Harmony shows up and talks to Ricky about Restless Style. She gets him excited about a big breaking story.

Ronan meets Nikki at Gloworm, where she tells him about Deacon's shaky alibi. He gets a call and has to run. Nikki calls Paul to meet her at the Club. He wants to know why she married Deacon. Nikki won't discuss it, but tells him about Deacon's alibi issue. She gets a call from Nick and rushes off.

Ronan is at Gen's house - he tells her the carpet rod on the stairs could have broken over time. Jack wonders if someone could have done it deliberately, and hires Ronan to find out. Jack tells Gen to move in with him until they have answers.

Victoria visits Victor in prison and tells him he couldn't have sunk lower. She tells him Chelsea's in town, and accuses him of bringing her there. She assures him that the accusations she's making won't break up her and Billy. Victor yells that her anger should be directed at Billy Abbott! She gets a call about the custody case and says she has to go. Deacon comes in to see Victor about Nikki. Victor tells him to get her sober - he doesn't give a damn what she's up to.

At the court, Avery phones Ricky, who won't come to assist her. Michael arrives. Sharon and Nick argue in the corridor. Avery and Michael try to break it up. Nick suggests Sharon call her therapist. Sharon says she's sick of him using their daughter to control her. Court gets underway, with Michael representing Sharon, and Avery asking the judge to leave the arrangements as they are. Michael makes his case. The judge gives Sharon and Nick equal custody.

Harmony returns to Restless Style. Phyllis is pleased with her work. Billy congratulates Phyllis on getting the issue in on time and loves the story. Ricky arrives and tells Phyllis they had a deal - where's his job? Billy appears and tells him to get out. Ricky threatens to tell Billy she gave him the passwords and goes. Phyllis convinces Billy to hire Ricky, who returns as Harmony appears with the first copy of the new issue.

Ronan meets Paul at Crimson Lights. They compare notes on Deacon, and Ronan asks him to work on the Genevieve case too.

Genoa City Spoilers for Tomorrow on The Young and the Restless:

Genevieve asks Patty to move into Jack's house with her.

Chelsea informs Nikki and Vikki that the baby she's carrying gives her all sorts of rights.

Nick tells Sharon she sold herself to his dad to get control of Faith.
