Nikki's guardian angel takes her on a tour of her past and present on Christmas Eve.
Nikki wakes up behind the wheel of her car, which hit a tree on the side of the road. She murmurs Victoria's name and says she has to get there. She exits her car, and starts limping to the church. Once there, she finds it empty. She cries that she missed the wedding and sobs, "What is wrong with me? God help me, please."
A woman appears in the church. She says she was just talking with Colonel Austin and John Abbott and they agree something needs to be done. Nikki says that's not funny. The woman says she's her guardian angel. Nikki assumes she's drunk, and turns to go. The angel says she's forgotten how strong she used to be. They discuss Nikki's abusive childhood and family. Nikki thinks about her sister Casey, and her past as a stripper with Cash. Her angel says she's come a long way. Nikki mutters, "I'm what I always was - nothing."
The guardian angel tells Nikki to take her hand and tells her everything she'll see are things that could happen tonight because all the thoughts and feelings are real...They go to Victoria's house and watch her interacting happily with Billy and Delia. When Billy takes Delia upstairs, Vikki turns sad as she thinks about Nikki. They flash to when Vikki was little. Billy returns and Vikki tells him she's afraid for her mom. Nikki cries as Vikki prays for help for Nikki.
Back at the church, the guardian angel tells Nikki her kids love her, but Nikki says she's done something wrong for everything she did right - and she's an alcoholic. The angel says both of her children have turned out well.
Nikki and the angel go to the tackhouse, where Nick is reading to Faith. The angel says he didn't become such a devoted parent by accident. They flash to when Nick was a teenager. Sharon arrives, and Nikki muses it was good of him to ask her over. Nick tells Sharon he likes to be close to his mom at Christmas, and wanted that for Faith. Nick wishes Nikki could know he is there for her. They flash to Noah's premature birth. The angel tells Nikki she's always been the glue.
The angel next takes Nikki to Katherine's house, where Kay muses to Murphy that Nikki is probably in a bar with strangers - she should have known she could come to her. They flash to Nikki helping Katherine through hard times in the past. Katherine talks to God about helping Nikki not to give up on herself.
Back at the church, Nikki talks about Victor not being home on Christmas Eve, saying it's because of her.
At the jail, Nikki and the angel watch Victor in deep thought. They flash to Victor falling in love with Nikki and kissing her for the first time. The angel says he's remembering how much he loves her. She adds that Nikki's been the one constant in his life and he knows he can always count on her. It has been their past and will be their future. Victor prays to God to help Nikki move on.
They return to the church, and the angel tells Nikki she wouldn't have come if hers wasn't a life worth living - she's everything to the people who love her. The angel says she's not a murderer - her memories aren't giving her the whole story. The angel has to go, but first, tells Nikki to call her 'mom'. She disappears, and Nikki runs, sobbing, out into the snow calling for her.
Nikki returns to the church for her coat and Victoria, Nick, and Katherine greet her happily - she made it in time! Nikki tells them not to worry about her anymore - it's all going to be alright. Nikki pulls out the lace handkerchief the angel gave her and reveals a tiny cross. She cries.
Genoa City Spoilers for Next Week on The Young and the Restless:
The power goes out in the church and Victoria asks Nikki, "Do you think it's an omen?"
Chloe asks Daniel if he said anything to Kevin about her having second thoughts. He says he didn't.
Kevin and Angelina continue to drive. Angelo screams into Angie's phone, "Where the hell are you?"
