    Change Of Heart.

    Thursday, November 10 2011
Invitations are extended for a wedding and a christening, Avery apologizes, and Ronan confides his feelings.

Devon chats with Sofia and Neil at Gloworm. Neil tells Devon that Moses' christening is next week and mentions needing a godfather. Sofia snaps that Tucker agreed to be the godfather. Neil thinks it's no longer appropriate. Sofia says Tucker is her family and she won't take this away from him. Devon is fine with it, so Neil goes along.

At the Chancellor Estate, Katherine hands Jill some mail - it's her invitation to Moses' christening. Murphy comforts Katherine, who didn't receive an invitation. She shrugs that it's Neil's party - c'est la vie. She says she kept a secret and has to live with the consequences. Jill assures her they'll move past it.

At Crimson Lights, Paul confronts Ricky about taking the pictures of Heather. He claims he was focused on Sharon's trial. Paul says he'd buy that if he didn't go to Phyllis first. Paul asks if he did this to Heather to get back at him for not being in his life. Ricky says it was never about Heather, adding that he tried to stop Avery, but it was too late.

In Ronan's office, Christine attacks him for not explaining his disappearance. Chance and Nina leave. Christine tells Ronan she thought he was an S.O.B. at first, but he came back - that makes her think he's ready to deal with having a family.

On the patio at the coffee house, Nick and Phyllis discuss how complicated things are between them right now. They decide to be just friends and colleagues. Phyllis goes. Avery arrives and apologizes to Nick for allowing Phyllis to walk in on them - she says she couldn't resist; she was tired of being the good sister. She doesn't want him to think she was with him because of Phyllis. He believes her, and says he wasn't thinking about Phyllis when they were together either. They kiss.

Nina and Chance sit on a park bench. They are discussing Ronan when a boy scout and his mom come to decorate the park for Veteran's Day. Nina watches the boy and muses that she didn't get to raise Ronan, maybe that's why she can't give up.

Chance and Nina return to Ronan's office. Nina says she'll always be his mother, but won't bother him about a relationship anymore - if he wants one, he knows where to find her. Chance tells Ronan he doesn't deserve her, and they go. Christine follows. Once alone, Ronan has a meltdown. Phyllis walks in. He rushes past her.

At Crimson Lights, Christine and Chance assure Nina that they're proud of her. They notice Paul and Ricky. Chance leaves. Nina and Christine go over and introductions are made. Ricky tells Christine he's heard a lot about her.

In his apartment, Ronan rubs his brow. There's a knock - it's Phyllis. She says she heard Nina write him off and was concerned - she knows what it's like to have a messed up family. She explains what's going on with her, and confides that she left home as a teen and has no desire to renew those ties. Ronan says he owes his family his life and he doesn't know how to deal with that. She asks if he thinks he has nothing to give them in return. He's not sure - it's just how he feels - he's never told anyone before. Phyllis kisses him.

At home, Ashley and Tucker approve their wedding invitations. Tucker notes that he's not inviting his mother and his son probably won't come. They share a toast. Sofia and Neil arrive with Moses. Neil acts hostile toward Tucker, who defends himself. Ashley changes the subject to the wedding. Tucker asks Sofia to be his 'best woman'. She's honored. Once alone, Tucker tells Ashley he hopes Devon will have a change of heart and come to the wedding.

Still at Gloworm, Devon receives a hand-delivered invitation to Tucker and Ashley's wedding. He heads to the park and tosses it in the trash.

A hand-delivered invitation arrives at the Chancellor Estate for Chloe, who's out. Katherine says it's obviously for Tucker and Ashley's wedding, and she's not invited. Paul and Nina chime in that she's not the only one with a wayward son. Murphy encourages them not to give up. Kay suggests Paul invite Ricky to dinner. Paul calls Ricky, who declines, but later shows up at the door and watches from outside.

Sofia and Neil discuss Moses' routine at Crimson Lights - he lets her know how happy he is, and she agrees they'll stay for the holidays.

Avery and Nick enter her suite and pull off their clothes, kissing passionately.

Oh Lord. Phyllis and Nick decide to be just friends and colleagues, and then Nick and Avery are going at it again like two dogs in heat.

Christine what exactly is your purpose of coming back to Genoa City? Is it to nag Ronan about his relationship with his mother? If it is then please catch the next flight out of town. Ronan will have a relationship with Nina when he is good and ready and your nagging isn't required.

Phyllis quit your sob story with Ronan. We are all getting sick and tired of hearing about your messed up life and family.

I have to admit I loved Tucker asking Sofia to be his best woman at the wedding. No matter how ruthless Tucker can be, it's obvious he cares and has a soft spot for Sofia. Kind of like Sharon and Victor.

Devon, I really wish you would reconsider going to Tucker's wedding. He is your father and all he wants is for you to be a part of his special day.

And on that note we end the show with Nick and Avery doing the humble jumble.

    Have a great night everyone.

    Awe....Moses is so adorable.
    Long Sighhhhhhh

    Nina's at it again.

Then she chimes in and trashes Tucker at Katherine's commenting on wayward sons?

Ugh Nina go home. Juann, at Nina's name to the list of "what exactly is your purpose in coming back to GC?"

    I'm so sick of her.

And what's up with Ricky - AGAIN....lurking outside of Katherines.

Avery must be putting it down, Nick can't stay away.

Nick is enjoying serving it up....

Mrs. Walton, I mean Kay, turns out the lights and says:

Well Broom and Nick have decided to be just friends and not mother and son, oops I mean lovers. So she can't be mad at him for jumping Avery's bones again.

Chance I agree with you 100%. Nobody deserves Nina as a mother.

Dang, Hilda's boyfriends keep getting younger and younger. Fenmore better watch out.

Nick is at it again. That boy has a ton of energy. He must be taking papa Newman's viagra pills.

What the JM and SH (writer) are saying
Nick and Avery : "These two characters have had feelings for each other that have been slowly building," concedes Joshua Morrow. "Before this, I don't think they were ever like, 'Oh, my God, I want this person.' It just overtakes them. When it comes to the ladies, Nick can get pretty impulsive

"This story fits so neatly into the underlying theme of all our stories this week that poses questions about people's ulterior motives," explains Co-Headwriter Scott Hamner. "We're going to wonder what Avery really intends for her sister and her relationship with Nick. But we're also going to wonder what Phyllis has planned for Avery, Nick and even Ronan. It's going to be very interesting to see these characters operating on a number of different levels."

After listening to the recording of Nick, Phyllis insists to Ronan that it's a setup by someone trying to make her ex look guilty. "This shows how Phyllis, even when she is in bed with another man, still cares very much for Nick," Hamner points out. "Even though it's priviledged information, Phyllis decides to warn him."

Avery conveniently leaves and Phyllis blasts Nick for hooking up with the woman who hates her. "This is the worst-case scenario for Phyllis, someone Nick deeply loves," admits Morrow. "It was such a terrible decision, especially because he and Phyllis still care for each other. It's really poor judgment on Nick's part."

Before storming off, Phyllis grudgingly reveals that Ronan just received the phone recording of Nick threatening Diane. "At these two people's cores, they know they want to be together, but they just don't seem to know how to do it," Morrow opines. "Here, it looks like Nick could be in big trouble and she still cares for Nick in that moment. Considering what just happened with Avery, Phyllis is being very generous when she gives Nick the heads-up about Ronan."

Phyllis approaches Avery downstairs at the bar, where the lusty lawyer announces her plans to stay in Genoa City permanently. The sisters begin arguing about their past: Phyllis claims their father was guilty of stealing money from a medical facility; Avery insists he was innocent. "That bit of information tells so much about both these women and why they made their life choices," notes Hamner. "Avery's career has been all about helping people who've been wrongly accused and getting them out of jail because of her conviction that her father was wrongly accused. Phyllis believes their father was guilty and that obviously created problems in the family because the mother and Avery believed in him. That's why Phyllis has kept her past a secret and why she tends to be wary in relationships and has the tendency to feel sabotaged."

Meanwhile, Ronan questions Nick about the recording, but he refuses to answer without his attorney present. "Nick turns into this punk whenever he's around Ronan," says Morrow. "Nick finds Ronan annoying and wants nothing to do with him. Nick is always challenging him, while Ronan is always saying, 'Things aren't looking good for you.' Nick couldn't care less what Ronan thinks."

Nick then asks Ronan why he is sharing sensitive evidence with Phyllis. Ronan pointedly implies there could be something going on between him and Phyllis, which ticks Nick off. "He asks, 'Were you together?' and Ronan comes back with, 'Would it bother you if we were?' Morrow chuckles. "Nick has a look on his face like, 'This will be an issue between us!' So Ronan is trying to rattle Nick's cage and as everybody in the soap opera world knows, the way to do that is through Nick's women. All men are the same. Even when you're done with a woman, it still bugs you when another dude is sniffing around. That's just human nature, so it's that intense with Nick because he really does want Phyllis. Things have taken this weird turn with Avery, but Nick still digs Phyllis."

At least Scott H is full of Schitt if nothing else

@ MsChief...Nick is always very enthusiastic, when the door is open to opportunity. That Phyllis is some kind of nympho....poor Roana is doomed! He's going to lose his mind and his job messing with her!

Posted by brooksie at Wednesday, November 09 2011 08:53 PM

I now know why Ronan came back to GC...he is so stupid he belongs here with all the other idiots.

Nina, Chance and Cricket tried to get him to open up, but they got nowhere. Phyllis slinks in, cleavage on display, acting all sensitive and caring....sharing crap about her jacked up family....and BOOM, he opens up.

Now that she's got an opening, she throws some kisses on him and BAM, the rabbits are at it again. What kind of magical dust is she emitting?

I thought wedding plans should be exciting....what a snooze fest it was (half)listening to AshTuck. I have a feeling that Devon will show up at the wedding and so will Neil. Sophia will "inspire" him to go!

There is, definitely, something unsavory about Ricky. Paul should watch his back...he has his own agenda and it won't be good.

Boy, TGVN is slipping. He's just finding out that Billy isn't where he thought he sent him. It must be difficult running the lives of half the town. I can see how Billy may have slipped through the cracks. LOL @ your azz Victor.

I am loving that Cane is helping Billy. I just hope he doesn't fall prey to the dark side of Myanmar.
