Cane and Abby run into Daniel and Lily, Phyllis tells Michael about Avery, and Sam helps Victoria.
Lily stops by Daniel's place to reassure him about what they did last night. Daniel asks if she wants to take a step back. She says she's not running away from anything.
At home, Victoria talks to Nikki at rehab before answering her door - it's Sam picking up keys. He helps her open a box - the bike she ordered for Reed didn't come assembled. Sam puts it together and they chat. After, she has her video call with Reed and shows him his bike. Reed asks if Billy put it together, but then has trouble with his computer. Sam tells Victoria she's a good mother and they keep thanking each other.
Avery pays Sharon a visit and blurts that Phyllis is her sister. Sharon doesn't know if she can trust her now. Avery admits that Sharon's case came to her attention through Phyllis's blogs, but says she wasn't aware of their history with Nick or the animosity between them. Sharon thinks Avery wants closure with Phyllis, but agrees to keep her on if there's no more surprises. Sharon worries that Phyllis's testimony is important and might be tainted by all this. Avery says she'll handle it.
On the patio, Phyllis tells Michael that her sister is Sharon's lawyer, Avery Bailey Clark. He's stunned. Phyllis haltingly tells him that her upbringing with her parents was bad. They weren't physically abusive, but it was very bad. He asks about leaving her sister there. She cries that she had to get out and says Avery turned out okay - she's a lawyer. Michael muses, "She wants to save the world." Michael wonders if Phyllis has guilt like he carries around for leaving Kevin and not going back. Phyllis doesn't. Michael hopes she and Avery can repair their relationship. Phyllis says she doesn't plan to see her again, but then gets a text summoning her to give a deposition for Sharon's trial. Michael offers to go with her. She accepts. He jokes that he doesn't want her to get beat up by her little sister.
Ashley and Nick puzzle over whether or not it's Adam calling Nick and who sent the photo to Ashley. She thinks it's too easy and questions why he wouldn't just turn them in. Nick points out that Adam would place himself on the scene if he did that. Ashley suggests that Adam may have a different agenda. They go up and search Adam's room, and realize he's out of town. Nick makes a call and it checks out. Nick wonders if Sharon would have any insight on what Adam's up to.
Cane sits with pen to his divorce papers in Gloworm. He stops Abby to ask if she's talked to Daniel. She realizes he's wondering about Daniel and Lily. Abby tells him he's to blame for her and Daniel breaking up - they would have worked things out if Lily hadn't sucked Daniel in. Cane says he's sorry, but you can't always get what you want. Abby quips, "You should know." Lily and Daniel enter, talking, and then kiss. They notice Cane and Abby. Abby taunts Lily about how easily she's gotten over the love of her life. Daniel follows Abby out. Cane tells Lily he can't bring himself to sign the divorce papers - in his heart it's not right. They bicker. Lily insists she'll have her divorce and informs Cane that not only is it possible to move on, but she has. Daniel returns and Lily leaves with him.
Nick shows up at the prison and tells Sharon he needs a favor having to do with Adam. She asks what he did now. Nick regrets bothering her with this. They talk about her new trial. Sharon says Avery is more than her new lawyer. Keeping the sister news to herself, Sharon says Avery is her only hope.
At the deposition, Avery informs Phyllis that she needs to ask questions regarding Sharon's defense. She makes her go on record about them being sisters, and that they've had no contact since Avery was a child - to show her testimony won't be biased by their relationship. Phyllis is hostile as she answers Avery's queries about the memory cards. Michael warns her not to sacrifice Sharon just to get back at her sister.
Abby meets Ashley at the Club bar and tells her Daniel is officially with Lily - she misses having someone on her side. They agree it sucks not being able to control things.
Genoa City Spoilers for Tomorrow on The Young and the Restless:
Tucker tells Devon he's not in the business of keeping people employed out of charity. Devon's just asking for a shot.
Jack says to Genevieve, "Come work for me. Katherine just told me to start thinking outside of the box."
Katherine says to Jill, "I need a spy. That's you."
