Back in March, I was happy to bring you an exclusive interview with The Young and the Restless star Emily O'Brien (Jana). What some may not realize is that Emily took some extra time out to answer a few questions from you - the Soaps.com fans! So sit back and get ready to get up close and personal with the actress who brought Jana alive and into our homes!

SeattleJanaFan asks: What was the inspiration for the colored streaks in your hair that viewers loved?

    Emily:
It was Lynn's idea actually, she thought it would spice things up with a little more edge and personality.

Pdames4 asks: Is there any way The Powers That Be can redeem your character? Would you want that? I loved the character and would like to keep her around.

Emily: Well, as you know in soap land almost anybody can be brought back somehow, but for now I think things are just as they should be for Jana.

Phyllis&Nick asks: I would like to know how you got started acting?

Emily: While growing up in England I had an extremely creative side. I was writing plays, writing music, always eager to perform... my teachers quickly noticed this, and as time went by I noticed that I was always being cast as the leads in the school plays. By the time I was 8, my teachers would let me take time off class to rehearse plays that I had written myself, then some classmates and I would perform for the entire school. I was fortunate to have teachers such as them who believed in me. It grew from there...

StaceyT asks: I would like to know how it was working on the set of Y&R and how would you have liked your character to have acted or not acted?

Emily: It was always fun. We were always having a good time together that it would make the day pass so much quicker than normal.

EmpressOperaDiva asks: How was it working with Greg?

Emily: Where do I even start?! Greg and I definitely became close friends while working together. I can't tell you how many times we have cracked up together. Sometimes in the middle of a scene!! We had so many inside jokes and laughs, but at the same time he was a great person to confide in or spend time with. He was the best part of the day...

hunnybear0412 asks: Was it your goal to do soaps or was this just something you did to get your foot in the door for primetime or movies?

Emily: No actually it wasn't my goal, but I came to love the show and the cast and crew. I am actually working towards film and prime time, but eventually will jump back into theater occasionally.

Soaps.com wants to thank Emily - again - for taking the time out to talk with us today! We wish you the best in your career and hope to see Jana stalk back into Genoa City one day soon!

I'd certainly be happy to wrap up the campaign and say goodbye to all the campaign managers, etc. and bring the character of Jana back for awhile, she was always interesting. Amy let Emily know we appreciated her answering our questions.
