Vail Bloom issued a statement to Soaps.com regarding the recasting of her role, Heather Stevens, through her publicist, who said:

"Vail Bloom had a recurring role as late on Y&R and recently completed starring in the independent feature 'The Somnambulist', and with all the opportunities she is receiving felt she had to leave the show and should not decline any future offers she had been getting. She enjoyed her time portraying Heather on Y&R and thanks the show for the opportunity she was given."

I like Eden. I hope everybody gives her a warm welcome. I watched her on All My Children.

She is a great actress, looks nothing like either of her "soap" parents though. I wish her well.

While in the few episodes of All My Children that I watched I liked Eden, I am terribly sad to see Vail Bloom leave Y&R. I think Vail was great as Heather Stevens even though the writers did not give her enough screen time. The writers also, made her character very unlikeable. I wish Vail all the best.

Also forgot to say in my previous comment that I loved Vail and Billy together and thought that they were hot, hot, hot. I do not see the same chemistry happening with Billy and Eden. Guess this means that Billy and Victoria will have to work.

What a slap in the face to ABC. I guess we won't be seeing Eden on AMC any time soon. I'm glad Eden is going to be on Y&R. I hope Vail Bloom finds work very soon. I think Vail was starting to get good at the role of Heather.

I feel bad for Vail. I think she did the best with what she was given ...which wasn't all that great. Hopefully she lands somewhere where she can thrive. But I think this is a brilliant casting move by Y&R. There's such something about Eden that's so lovable and hopefully with better writing this character can really take off for her. Maybe she'll be the character smart enough to realize the Emily/Patty switch. I don't think this is a slap in the face to AMC though. AMC is a bit of a mess right now. What would Bianca do? Plus they'd also have to bring back her wifey, which they probably couldn't afford.

I like Eden, too. However, I think she should have been recast as the new Mac or Victoria. Both of those roles need to be recast. Personally, I liked Vail. I thought she did an excellent job.

I really like Vail Bloom. She did a great job with the character of Heather. It is unfortunate that the writers made her into such an unlikable person. Plus she looked like she could have been Paul and April's daughter. I like Eden Reigel and have no doubt she will play the part well. The only thing is, as others have written, she looks nothing like Paul or April. Is she going to dye her hair blonde? It is biologically improbable that two natural blonde's would have a dark haired child. I agree with the person who wrote that they should have cast Eden as a replacement Mac or Victoria.

Welcome Eden!~ But now I'm curious as to whether it was Vail's choice to leave, or was she given the pink slip for s/l purposes? Who knows. Considering what little she had to work with, I thought she did a great job neverthess. I wish Vail all the best!~
