    Beefcake boxing. (CBS)
Genoa City for the week of March 24 - 28:

"Y&R" was a bore this week. There was little to no tension, intrigue, or passion. There are so many characters with the potential to be doing any number of naughty, funny, controversial, dramatic, and/or interesting things and yet they're written to be bland - so bland. Watching Tyler, Victor, and Stitch do their manly-men boxing thing was possibly the high point, with the Victor/Jack exchange, Kelly's verbal smackdown on annoying Abby, and Victoria and Stitch doing shots earning honorable mentions. Thoughts:

    Misspent youth.
Well, it was very nice that Nikki and Dylan bonded further over him warning her about Willa and her sharing her past, and it was also wonderful that Victor agreed to accept Dylan as a part of Nikki's family (though it was a little awful how gushingly grateful she was for the concession). Avery and Dylan's video-recorded romance bit was cute, and Nikki and Paul sharing ice cream and a walk down memory lane was also good for a smile. Unfortunately all this 'let's hold hands and skip' stuff tends to lead to glassy-eyed, napping viewers. Come on back, Ian Ward.

    Undercover lover.
Courtney gave up her dangerous undercover work to ease nervous Noah's mind...and put herself in even more danger because now all the drug dealers will know she's a cop. Trying to care about any of this...

    Expensive PR move.
So, Devon bought Esmerelda a Lamborghini in order to get the fashion show mentioned in GC Buzz and now we're supposed to be in awe of his savvy genius like Jack Abbott seemed to be? No words.

    Separation agreement.
Victoria came back to town and the good news was that she brought cutie pie Reed with her. The bad news was that she promptly gave NuOldBilly a reason to go whining all over town - the separation papers. Victoria and Stitch in the bar downing shots made for a couple of good scenes, and given that them leaving together appeared to be the 'Friday cliffhanger', it left us wondering if maybe, just maybe, they might act on the attraction they share. Do you think they should? Let us know by voting in Soaps.com's Y&R Poll: Should Victoria and Stitch hook-up?

    Neil at TPIR. (CBS)
    Plinko.
Neil completely lost his composure in the audience when Hilary got the Plinko chip in the $10,000 slot. Hysterical!

    Trust.
Chloe's still fighting with Chelsea and it looks like she'll be fighting off Kevin, who will push to make their marriage of convenience 'real' again. Not fun stuff.

    Retrograde amnesia.
Of course Sharon has amnesia and they have no idea how long it will be until she recalls the rather selective memories that have gone missing. Argh.

    The white rose of surrender.
Jack and Kelly have chemistry, but knowing the actress will change in a couple of weeks kind of puts a damper on anything developing. As for Kelly shutting Abby up - more power to her.

    Boxing week.
Though boxing after dinner seemed kind of random, Stitch and Tyler looked good sparring and Victor's delivery of his 'knowledge' was amusing, which made the scenes enjoyable.

    Down at the station.
Is anyone else wondering why they don't do something with those hot detectives over at the police station? I love Paul, but if there was a choice between watching him eat salad and watching Harding or Chavez work some magic...yeah, no contest.

Maybe Victoria and Billy's separation was for the best. Maybe she'll hook up with Stitch and maybe Billy will get his crap together and man up.

I'm no fan of Kelly whatsoever, but I was all for her putting Abby in her place. I'm sorry, but Abby deserved that and then some. First of all, she doesn't know Kelly well enough to be judgmental of her, and second, last time I checked, it took two to tango, and Kelly didn't have the affair all by herself--Billy was at fault, too. So Abby needs to pick her face up off the floor and chill out.

Now, having said all of this, I have three words for Kelly concerning Jack: Let. It. Go. Kelly would do well to remember that she's not the victim here. She and Billy were the ones who had the affair, so she doesn't get to act like the injured party because Jack tried to bribe her into leaving town and staying away from his brother. She needs to lose the attitude and move the hell on!!

And don't even GET me started on Billy Boy!! Ugh!!

Does anyone else detest Sharon and her tired story lines or is just me?! And does anyone know the behind-the scenes reason that the actor playing the role of Adam Newman was discarded? I knew Adam would be dead for only a while, but a friend who watches the soap has told me, the previous actor was "dispatched". A different actor will return in the role. That actor was great in that role. Say it ain't so!

I agree Candice, boring, boring, boring. And where did they get that horrible blue dress Abby was wearing? Everything this week seemed so predictable Boring, boring, boring. Ho Hum.

Michael Muhney who played Adam, was supposedly responsible for 2 incidents of sexual harassment against Hunter King, who plays Summer Newman. I have no idea if the harassment really happened, but Michael Muhney was allegedly also having issues with Eric Braeden as well. So sad that Michael was not able to stay on as Adam, but the TPRB asked him to leave & he did.

Victoria and Stitch certainly have way more chemistry at this point than Victoria does with Nu Billy but I'm kinda torn on her hooking up with him so fast.

I'm sorry but the Price is Right stuff was the WORST thing this week. Y&R wants to keep pushing Hilary the redeemed on us and it just ain't working for me.

The show needs more light hearted, love in the afternoon moments back from years before.
That Price is Right moment must have been for some kind of acknowledgement for which show now? Why?
It was good that Kelly told off Abby. I am not team Kelly for any reason but Abby needed to mind her own business...like Jack with that insult of a bribe. I hope that Hillary and Neill don't.....I cant even say it.
It would be the payback for when Devon slept with his 'Aunt' who wasnt really his Aunt (make sure i specify that) when Neill was involved with her. Then there's the number one: Drucilla, Neill, Malcolm debacle years before that...they of course redeeming Hillary from the awful horrible person she was but it is still hard with everything she did to the Winters family.
But i must admit that it is hilarious to see almost everyone who was burned by her forgive her except Lilly who gets put in her place when she does go off on Hillary. Lilly is a bit self-righteous and could tone it down just a wee bit. LOL

Candace, can you tell me who is the actress in the slinky evening gown at the end of the credits each day on Y&R? Is it Phyllis, or just somebody else that's not on the show?

Posted by mswoman at Saturday, March 29 2014 12:04 PM

I must have missed the explanation, but where IS Chavez?

Posted by gracie45 at Sunday, March 30 2014 08:17 PM

@mswoman, I read in SOD that it is Michelle Stafford in the credits. I wonder if she gets royalties for it now.

Why is Devon giving Esmerelda a expensive car or was that for show & not her's to keep I hope not, that's all she's after his money, I hope he dumps her & get together with Hilary, Neil is moving to fast, he hasn't had time to heal from "stupid never getting married Leslie. I still don't trust Tyler, their is something about him that is not right his ways are so strange like himself,Vikki needs to move on, still don't know Stitch's secret of what he did & who he is! Is Kevin just that crazy to love someone who doesn't love him & may never love him, he can't make Chloe love him, so just move on Kevin,Jill too falling again for the crook Colin is. Need another Billy & Kelly, Jack has gone bunkers for Kelly trying to hard to make amends,Sharon & Nick two mishaps, now Sharon can't remember so what's new & she'll never get caught for her devious deeds, so friends I'll be not watching Y&R for awhile until things get settled & the truth comes out all over, if not I'll do like I did with BOLD & BEAUTY stop watching it all together, got sick of Brook getting away with men just like Sharon is, yeah Lily so high & mighty nose all turn up on people "who died & left her in charged?
