    Hey Doc... (CBS)
Genoa City for the week of March 10 - 14:

For those who don't like too much 'stupid' in their "Y&R," this week was a bit trying. Thoughts:

    She's alive.
The week kicked off with the Cassie clone mouthing off to Victor, who threatened to have her arrested for 'that thing that happened in Portland'. Hmm. So she carried on with her assignment, searching Sharon's house while she made love with Nick upstairs. After that, the 'stupid' began. Sharon encountered faux Cassie downstairs and argued with her, and although their voices were equally loud, Nick only heard Sharon. Dumb or just soapy? Soaps.com poster, Fiddlers Daughter, commented:

"Nick hears Sharon talking but, in true soap opera style, he can’t hear a word Cassie is saying and can’t possibly make it downstairs in time to see Cassie before she goes running out the door!"

It got worse. Victor just happened to show up at Crimson Lights of all places at the exact right moment to hear Sharon's former therapist discussing her secret. This was topped by Sharon grabbing the Cassie lookalike in the cemetery and jumping to the conclusion that Cassie never died. What? Not only did Sharon see her die, but would she really believe that if Cassie were alive she'd be stalking her and calling her awful names in the cemetery? Should we even talk about the implausibility of the Cassie clone popping up all over town and not being seen by anyone but Sharon? Make it stop.

    No free lunch.
Well, Jack's little plan to finesse Kelly into leaving Genoa City backfired. It was interesting how they set it up so that he invited her to lunch after learning there was no change with Phyllis. Hehe. In other news, Victoria's feelings were still all over the map, Stitch clearly is struggling with his feelings for Victoria, and though the Billy/Dylan friendship was a high point, the NuOldBilly recast continued to be an issue for many. Does he seem too young? Regarding the scene in the Athletic Club gym, Soaps.com poster, rukiddingme62, commented:

"NuBilly next to Dylan and Stitch looked like a Jr. Varsity Football player in Jr. High School compared to those two, who looked like Professional Football Players."

NuOldBilly's dialogue has been under scrutiny as well, which suggests that it might be best to stop giving him lines that try to infuse the character with the former Billy's innate swagger but just come off cringe-y. As for Stitch and Kelly's past, she called him a 'murderer' this week, which led many to wonder if he was responsible for the death of her son. Perhaps, but that doesn't explain why all of their first encounters involved Stitch treating Kelly as though she was contemptible. Let Soaps.com know your opinion on Billy by voting in our Y&R Poll: Is the Billy recast working?

    Grilling Colin. (CBS)
    Love doesn't conquer all.
Most viewers have had 'up to here' with Neil's dramatics regarding marriage, which don't even make sense. Honestly, let Leslie chat with Karen and Sofia and then get back to Neil on that topic. Yeesh. At least Neil had the wherewithal to warn Devon about Esmerelda. It's so unlike Devon to not see right through this girl, but perhaps he does and is just having his fun. It's surprising Lily hasn't pegged Esmerelda as a golddigger too. There's still time for that. Meanwhile, Colin continued to 'work' on Cane - seems he really is angling to get him back to Chancellor. The big question is, "Why?" Loved Lauren mixing it up with Colin and the Winters family too - good to see people out of their 'bubbles'.

    A strange bird.
Dylan and Paul continue to be preoccupied with Ian's 'secret'. Speculation is strong that Dylan will turn out to be Paul's son. Christine may be able to deal with Paul eating Nikki's Cobb salad, but could she handle them sharing a child together? What about Victor's reaction? He just began to lighten up about Dylan too.

    He went home.
So, the homeless man's version of events didn't exactly add up. Chelsea, happy to grasp at straws, wasn't giving up though. Victor's reaction to her determination makes one wonder if he doesn't already know more.

    Yuks and chuckles.
Loved seeing Jeffrey! His talk about being a better father and such was worrisome, however. His dysfunction is what makes his character so deliciously obnoxious. It would be disappointing to see him softened up like Anita's character was - why make interesting characters lose their edge and become boring?

    Mental wreck.
That noise you heard when Chloe agreed to marry Kevin again was viewers collectively banging their heads against walls. On a positive note, Gloria blurting out home truths at the Club was awesome!

Good rant Candace. I couldn't agree more about all the stupid things happening on this show. The highlight of the week for me was Gloria and Jeffrey!

The recast is not working at all. Billy Miller's Billy was a lot of things, but he never came across as whiny. He was often quite self-deprecating and that was a big part of his charm. This Billy sulks like an overgrown child. It is incredibly unappealing.

I think that "Billy" is to young or acts that way!!!He is OVER ACTING the part..trying to hard. I know it`s not easy to take over but simmer down some!!!!
Please STOP this Cassie..as if others can`t see her.How big is this place?? Aslo when this is FINALLY found out I hope Nick and Sharon stay together. Jack should be the pi--ed one ...All the Newman`s have there Summer back. Please quit making Victor so evil..No Paul is not Dylans son!!!!!

You hit another nail on the head or should I say in the coffin of some of these dead ends! ENOUGH of the Cassie ghost...unless she can find out the secret. Enough of the "too young" whining Billy...Tired of Kelly already, and the snippy Neil, and the cranky Lily. Only a couple of the characters this week "rang true" and made sense...not that soaps make a lot of sense, but usually they are at least interesting. This week not so much. I can only hope this was a "building" week and next week will be better. But when you only want to read the synopsis of the show and not watch it you know the show is not delivering to it's fans. Don't know about you but soaps to me used to provide kind of an "alternate universe" where the good guys got the bad guys and you got to see them get their "come-up-ance", and there was a bit of happy fantasy to make you smile-these days it is boring, dull, overacted and leaves you wondering why you watch.

Thanks for the rant and ITA all the stupid going on in GC. And why would pod Cassie even search the house with Nick in there? It just as well could have been him coming down the stairs instead of Sharon. I loved seen Jeffery and Gloria this week. Neil and NuBilly are both becoming fast forward characters with their constant whining and self righteous attitudes all the time.

Good rant, I for one would like to see some decent clothes on Lily. For Heaven shakes she's the manager of the GCAC she needs to start dressing like a professional young business woman, wife, and mother of 2 small children. In other words those skirts are way too short and blouses too low cut. If anyone where I work showed up looking like that HR would send them home and don't come back until your dressed appropriately.

Gloria and Jeffery what a hoot! I also want to see more of Ian! They are the kind of characters this boring show needs. At least they are entertaining.

When will Sharon be truthful, it's her turn, she has done other very manipulative things before, so don't give her the royal forgiving treatment, she has done so much wrong that she can never tell the truth, just get this secret out & let her get her's, why can Sharon ever take responsibility for her actions she needs to move on she did her dirt & still lying about it,maybe if she's truthful to herself she'll be a better person,(but this is Sharon), not truthful & she can't blame anyone but herself, she chose to go this path of destruction all to get Nick back, Naw! this is wrong she needs to get got, I wonder just how will it all go downnnnnn, just to make Sharon look good, but she needs to suffer for what she's doing, she is so afraid of being by herself, she can't even stand on her own, she needs someone always to take care of her, she has no spine as usual, woman up Sharon & face your own making demons, she's always hurting her own self, when will she learn Nick ain't the only man she can get, but the only man she can get by lying, & doing stupid things doing people wrong telling her daughter how to act toward Avery,Sharon is a piece of work she doesn't fool me the writers need to go on & handle this secret to happen.

Nick & Sharon have always gone back & forth to much already, let some one be happy w/o Sharon or Nick together,Sharon will never change, she needs to start fresh for once, she only wants to hold on to Nick because of Faith,Noah is grown let go Sharon, now Nick has a daughter he thinks is not his all because of Sharon & her devious ways, wonder will she tell the whole story from the beginning Phyllis & in the grave yard when Phyllis heard what she did,& followed her to the party & she fell & Sharon did nothing to help her, wonder will she tell that? Sharon always using her kids as an excuse for everything, UGH!! She can't stand on her own never could, so why keep putting poor Sharon threw this, let her out of her misery, maybe she'll be sane again.

Well Y & R could really hit it out of the park, one of the few soaps left and it has always been #1, but nope. Stupid stupid stupid storylines and characters.
Billy is way too young to play this part now. As much as I hate that Billy Miller is gone, it was his choice but boy they could have recast him a whole lot better. Then when the new Kelly comes to town, that is really going to ridiculous because she will pass for Billy's mom. Please make this right. OMG
Chloe deserves a Daytime Emmy. AS much as I am tired of the whining and the storyline lets face it, she is good. They need to get her help or we will have another Sharon on our hands. OMG
I actually like Nick and Sharon together, much like Nikki and Victor back and forth which is why Nikki probably hates her. I think with actual support and love Sharon could be a great person. Problem is she has never had it. Nikki always treated like trash (look who's talking) and what Victor did to her was unbelievable. She needs help and everyone just stomps on her.
Kelly is a real piece of work, tanting Stitch when she is no saint. IF he did kill her son, then why even sit at a table with him. Or learn forgiveness. She is acting like a child and a bit of a psycho.
I do not like Victoria, never have and probably never will. I would not mind if they broke up and she could go running back to Daddy.
Chelsea is actually starting to get on my nerves. I hope that storyline does not drag out long. Please for the love of God, do not drag it out. Give her something interesting or send her to Paris.
Come on Y & R step up the game or get out of it altogether.

This Cassie is mean & nasty! Sharon should know that if Cassie was a ghost, she would be the same as when she died--not some mean-spirited thing urging her to spill her guts. Besides Sharon can grab the girl! You cannot touch, feel or grab a ghost! Besides she is all wrapped up in a coat to battle the winter weather. Why would a ghost need a coat? Writers need to end this stupidity ASAP!

I believe that Colin is the culprit who pulled strings and tampered w/ the drugs at Bonaventure to cause problems for Newman-Chancellor! Can't stand that name & don't understand why Victor has Kay's company anyway when she wanted Cane as CEO. Now that was a stupid move for the writers to do. Maybe this is a way to make the situation right again so that Jill & Cane can run the company. All that is Chancellor should not be lost b/c Kay Chancellor died. JC gave so much to this show that her legacy should live on thru Chancellor Industries. Colin also knows something about the music box and I wish that it would be revealed soon.
