    What's up? (CBS)
A look at Genoa City for the week of March 3 - 7:

After the brief intrigue of Chloe running off to Paris with Connor and Ian Ward's arrest, "Y&R" was back to being 'middle-of-the-road' this week. Thoughts:

    A brief seance.
Cassie's lookalike must have taken a vacation this week - there was no follow-up on the photo-bombing scare. This gave Sharon time to get even closer to Nick, of course, so that when the DNA secret comes out it will be even more devastating to him. Sometimes it seems the truth will never be revealed! When it does, I wonder if Nick will remember all these conversations he and Sharon had about Summer's paternity when she had a chance to come clean. Bottom line: Hoping this storyline picks up the pace.

    Cleaning up messes.
There are a variety of opinions out there as to why, but some viewers still feel that NuOldBilly has seemed like a fish out of water in his own storyline at times. It was almost awkward to see him threaten Stitch. Moving forward, if the writing accommodates this different version of Billy, it will probably work out fine. As for the storyline, the conflict has been very believable, with Victoria all over the place with her feelings, and Billy desperate to get back on solid ground in his marriage. Unfortunately, meeting Kelly and not telling Victoria probably hasn't helped his situation!

    Pistol-packin' mama.
It's possible Noah is more afraid of his girlfriend these days than he is of his grandpa. Too funny!

    I'll always love you.
If the music box storyline wasn't connected to Katherine, and didn't include the top-notch banter of Jill, Colin, and Esther, and Jill and Colin's sexual chemistry, it might be tedious - especially if you're not feeling the World War II theme. Fortunately, it has all of those elements, so as long as the mystery itself stays interesting and moves at a strong pace, it's all good. Loved Jill calling Colin 'Kangaroo Boy'!

No point even thinking about that...
Lily's forceful new attitude has people talking, especially given that only weeks ago she was so happy after having dodged a cancer scare. It's one thing for a character to become a bit edgier, and her attitude toward Hilary can be understood, but lately it seems like her intensity may be signaling that more is going on. Angrily confronting Tyler and Abby because Leslie dumped Neil, for example, was a tad eyebrow-raising. She even snapped at Cane at the end of Friday's show. Do you think Lily's just a little edgier, or is something bigger going on with her? Vote in Soaps.com's Y&R Poll: Is something up with Lily? Vote!

    Kissing Kangaroo Boy. (CBS)
    Worthless maggot.
The Victor/Ian face-off in the police station was pleasingly intense. The take away was that Victor appeared to have mellowed toward Dylan, and that Dylan is concerned about this 'secret' Ian alluded to knowing. Many believe it will be revealed that Paul, not Ian, is Dylan's papa. If so, the explanation should be a doozy, considering if Nikki and Paul had any idea they'd slept together back then, we can safely assume they would have discussed the possibility of Dylan being Paul's by now. That means if they conceived Dylan together, it was without their knowledge. Icky. Drugged by Ian perhaps? Egad.

    Mental hospital?
Chloe's case needs to be dealt with so she can get help and then things need to move forward. This routine of Kevin clucking like a mother hen over her/about her is tired.

    Investigation.
The Bonaventure storyline is showing promise. It's clearly going to be more complicated than Jack's imagining that it will be an open and shut case implicating Victor. It looks like Cane, and maybe even Colin, who encouraged Cane in the direction of Chancellor, could become players. Hmm.

    He's out there.
Adam is alive, so it was probably a homeless guy looking for valuables in the car that died in the explosion. Anyway, Chelsea feels that Adam's not gone and turned to Victor to use his resources to find him. It was interesting that Victor didn't fully latch onto the idea of looking for Adam until Noah resigned.

    Leaping for love.
I suppose Dylan's 'Tom Cruise on Oprah's couch' re-enactment in the park was supposed to be cute, but I think he and Avery have enough natural chemistry that they don't need to resort to such cheesy tactics, complete with a standing ovation out of nowhere. You just have to laugh...

re: worthless maggot paragraph .. the first line about Nikki in the Cast List section says she had an affair and contacted an STD from Paul Williams in 1978 so they knew they had sex, but it doesn't say whether that was before or after she had the baby.

At first I thought everyone was being ridiculous about the old Billy leaving but after a couple of weeks I agree with them. If you noticed today, Victoria was the alpha in the relationship with Billy following behind her and obeying her every command. That is not the way it was with the old Billy. Time for a newer Billy.

Also, storyline with Lilly acting like she is acting is getting old.

Probably will turn out that Victor is Katherines brother and that is where all this musicbox crap is going.

Y&R writers: You have got to get better on the storyline. I haven't cared for anything you have done except the storyline where Billy and Adam is the wreck. By the way, the person that has taken Adam in since the wreck will probably be the Kitty woman. Bring Phyllis back please!!!!

I agree with getting on with the Summer paternity storyline. It's gone on far too long - still hoping that Sharon only thinks she changed the results and didn't actually do it.

I'm one of those people who think Paul is Dylan's father.

Victor has been so evil lately. It looks like everyone is turning away from him again and once it comes out that he is behind the Cassie lookalike, whoever hasn't turned against him will. Wonder how long it will last this time!

Lily is boring so hopefully the writers are going someplace interesting with her mood change.

Glad Adam is alive - hope it doesn't take months and months for him to be found!

Still not sure about NuOldBilly. I really really liked Billy Miller. It may take a little more time to get comfortable with the new Billy.

I'd say that Devon telling Lily to back off Hillary & Nick telling Chelesa she had no right to talk to Sharon the way she did was just wrong. Chelesa has every right to not want Sharon's friendship as Lily does Hillary's. Hillary is a little too arrognant & believes she deserves instant forgiveness just because she says, "I said I'm sorry." I wonder if Victor could be behind the hidding away of Adam. Now Kelly is flirting with Billy's brother. Watch out boys!

I loved the worthless maggot & kangaroo comments. Great lines.

The new old Billy is really, really bad. What are you people thinking!

Posted by ShiningStar82 at Friday, March 07 2014 05:54 PM

I don't know if there is anything going on with Lily other than this is her mother Dru coming out in her. I actually wasn't all that shocked she confronted Tyler and Abby about Leslie.
Could not agree more about Kevin and Chloe, this whole back and forth of Chloe finally realizing what she did was wrong and Kevin making excuses for it at every turn got old fast this week.

I'm still only watching part time so I really appreciate your updates because you cover all the interesting stuff and nuances that I miss.

Even though I adored Billy Miller, I thought I'd give NuOldBilly a chance because I also liked David Tom in the part years ago. But too, I heard somewhere that they planned to take Billy in a "new direction" which is usually what precedes a casting disaster. To be fair, it would have been hard for anyone to step in to the intensity of that storyline, but their "new direction" is just not working unless they really do plan to make Billy Abbot petulant and whiney.

Where is Little Johnny, Billy and Vicky are in and out of the house but no sign of the kid or even a nanny. They don't even mention him anymore. Vicky kicks Billy out and he slinks away without even going upstairs to say good bye to his son. NO kid sleeps that much.

I can't figure out that Kelly chick, nor am I particularly interested in doing so. Why did they cast the part with someone like Cady Maclean, they could have used her better as Phyllis. Its a concern. I can write their script here, Jack will get involved with nuKelly and NuPhyllis will wake up.

I too hope Paul is Dylan's father, and that Sharon only thought she changed the results when she was off her meds. Poor Jack has had far too many disappointments.

I forgot to mention "Yo! Stitch! Stop kissing my wife", that was unintentionally hilarious.

Lily is reacting partly because shes tired of folks walking over her and she is perplexed about her otherwise judgmental dad and brother's behavior. She is a strong woman and will get through this.

Unfortunately no matter what this character does or doesn't do, she will never satisfy some. And that's OK. Lily has a large fanbase because at such a young age, having lost (2) parents (finding out Neil is not bio dad),cancer, etc. she has not sought revenge, keeps smiling, loves (and is loved)and defends her husband and kids and respects herself. Love what this character represents! Kudos to Y&R for portraying diverse personalities!
