    Clearing the air. (CBS)
Restless Rant for the week of February 3 - 7:

While the featured storylines continued to entertain this week, some of "Y&R's" non-front burner stories still require an injection of creativity to spruce them up. Thoughts:

    Dead men don't tell tales.
The good news is that the Baldwins are free from this dreadful storyline. The bad news is that it didn't make much sense for the police to have been poised to put Fenmore away for a murder that the feds knew hadn't happened. Yeeps.

    Clean slate.
Not surprisingly, Hilary told Devon, with whom she shares actual chemistry, that she just wants to be friends, which essentially confirmed that she has her sights set on Jack. Bleh. This really makes no sense unless she is still working an agenda - like taking control of Jabot so she can fire Neil? Even then, it would seem she could hurt Neil more by taking his son for his billions. Don't get it...

    Handcuffed.
Courtney posing as a high school student when she's really an undercover cop was suspiciously similar to "21 Jump Street," but it was Noah's Dudley Do-Right routine that made the reveal a letdown. Instead of thinking it was cool and sexy that she was a cop (and an adult!), Noah sniffed that the girl he fell for doesn't exist and it was all a lie blah, blah. Cue the eye-rolling.

    Meeting Mariah.
Abby going on at length about why she wanted to confront Tyler's ex had many clamoring for headache tablets, but perhaps even more annoying was Tyler being stupid enough to risk provoking another Abby hissy fit by planning to meet Mariah at her hotel. Please.

    Circus act.
Leslie being a no-show for the meeting with Neil and David Tutera led to an interesting conversation about the different ways they view marriage. Not the most exciting drama in the soap opera world, but it was satisfying to have Leslie clear the air and for Neil to have to acknowledge his track record.

    Changed man? (CBS)
    I feel you.
So, Sharon can feel Cassie now? That's different. Some think that Victor has put a Cassie clone on the payroll to gaslight Sharon. Anything's possible.

    Sweet-talker.
It's difficult to buy into the idea that Ian Ward is capable of charming the pants off so many, when even the way he talks is creepy. There's no way a young girl like Summer would think he was anything but weird and old.

    Disgusting pig.
The return of Colin is a much needed shot-in-the-arm for the show in that he and Jill bring their deliciously sarcastic comic relief as well as the slightly raunchy undertones of their considerable sexual attraction. Love the chemistry and their interactions! Though it wasn't completely clear why Jill continued to cover for Colin after they were back at the Chancellor estate, it was hilarious to see her tell the story of their 'love' while she flashed back to what really happened. To have them team up to figure out the music box mystery will be amazing. Cane, of course, was none-too-pleased to see his father. Colin told Cane that he's changed. We hope not too much, but anything's possible. Do you believe Colin has turned over a new leaf and wants to make amends? Vote in Soaps.com's Y&R Poll: Do you believe Colin has changed?

    Safe haven.
All the hub-bub surrounding Billy and Adam's car exploding has been pretty entertaining. David Tom transitioned into the role of Billy seamlessly. Kudos! There's not as much chemistry between this version of Billy and Victoria, so it will be interesting to see how things play out with Stitch and the looming threat of Kelly. Speaking of whom, their cryptic conversations about what happened between them in the past are getting old - they need to just come out with it already. As we now know, both Billy and Adam made it out of the car, however Adam's loved ones believe he almost certainly died in the explosion. Watching the different characters wrestle with their emotions regarding Adam - Jack, Chelsea, Victor - has made for excellent viewing, especially with the inevitable clashes between Jack and Victor putting pressure on Chelsea. One writing misstep - Sharon would have been rocked by Adam's death, not acting all matter-of-fact about it. Moving forward, it's clear the battle over Connor, as anticipated, will heat up.

Way too much evil right now --

Colin back to torment and steal
    Ian Ward stalking Summer
Sharon hiding the truth from Jack, Nick and Summer
    Mariah gunning for Abby
Carmine out to hurt the Baldwins
    Victor planning to take Connor
Kelly trying to break up Vikki and Billy

    Where's the love?

Did anyone else think that Kelly's reaction to Adam's "confession" means she is the one who did it? She seemed a little too relieved to hear that he confessed to Billy. Maybe she will find Adam bloody and stumbling through the woods, take him in and imprison him so he never finds out the truth. Just a thought!

Bet thing out of it all is...the character of Adam WILL make a return in the near future...he's alive!
Vikki being too trusting or confident in her marriage; wake up Victoria and see what Kelly/Billy have done. I think, once again, Billy will end up back at Kelly's to confess shooting Adam, which he's not telling Vikki...and...bam...
another sex act. But this time someone see's it or finds it out somehow. Billy-Boy needs found out.
Loved Sharon/Chelsea scene. These two women need to remain strong against Victor.

I feel for Leslie. Like her and Neil together. He needs to accept their love for what it is, and stop the marriage pressure. She's an independent business lady who never thought of marriage or kids. Marriage would most likely ruin their relationship.

The writing and acting over the last few weeks has been pretty near stellar. I agree the Abby and Tyler story and Noah and Courtney story are wearing on my nerves. But the Adam, Billy, and Delia story has been top notch! Everyone is knocking it out of the park. I'm looking forward to the Jill and Colin caper, as well as the slow unraveling of the Adam mystery. Did anyone else get a sense of gloom and doom from Nikki? Is she more sick than she is letting on?

So if Courtney was an undercover cop ALL this time then why was she such a bad influence on Summer. Courtney was the one pushing teenage Summer to jump in bed with older Kyle and lose her virginity which could be considered statutory rape. Wasn't it Courtney's idea to have the underage graduation drinking party? Plus if you go back to the updates in April 3013 on this site it states that Courtney was the one who got Summer and her the fake IDs to sneak into Nick's club and try and order drinks. So Noah's reaction wasn't the only thing the writers messed up on this s/l.

The writers did not know what to do w/ Courtney for a long time b/f creating this high school teen undercover cop backstory. This is where Y&R makes huge mistakes--hiring actors/actresses b/f they know what they want them to do. Why not just let them hang out & marinate on the show to allow the audience to adjust to them? Once a character is brought on to cause misery or destroy the lives of others, it is hard to accept them as a redeemed character so quickly. I am waiting to see this headless woman who is tormenting/stalking Abby/Tyler. Mariah's reputation preceded her unexpected appearance; but the writers are taking too long to reveal this woman. Put her on the screen b/f she has to be redeemd, too! Noah needs a young, flirtatious innocent kind of love interest. The last actress who played Eden would have been a better choice to provide that for this nuNoah! Bring her back for him.

Loving the Jill/Colin connection; but I do not like the faact that she hung around handcuffed to bedposts for 2 weeks before we got a chance to see Colin as her captor. I did watch that episode and my immediate & initial reaction was to laugh out loud at flashbacks when Jill was retelling how her sudden marriage to Colin happened. Finally something I can look at and feel entertained. I am looking forwad to more of this story. Tristan Rogers is quite entertaining. Love him as the scheming, manuplative bad guy w/ the innocent facade. I cannot tell when this guy is serious, lying or telling the truth.

    Thanks for the rant.

No surprise Candance you don't see chemistry between this Billy & Victoria. You just dislike Villy no matter what.

Easy to predict already that once EH & DT share a scene together you will see a "spark"

Well DT see a connection between him & AH. So does his sister HT too.

How many viewers REALLY believe that Micahel Muhney REALLY was sexualy innapropriate with whichever the blonde twit who said so ????!!!!
These young blondes all look the same to me...and to my friends who are/were Y&R fans?

Could SHE be looking for some attention? Looking to make herself noticed etc???

Michael is happily married and has 3 young kids. HE was unforgettable. Anyone could play those blonde twit roles...just be blond, no acting really needed.

I want my REAL Adam back!!!

Michael can act well! As does peter bergman. Outstanding, both.

New_Billy.....no. Looks like a child when with Victoria!

    All MHO, of course.
