    Happy Thanksgiving. (CBS)
Restless Rant for the Week of November 25 - 27:

Aside from Nikki's soapy reveal about Dylan, it was a pretty disappointing November Sweeps. Thanksgiving was marked with several family celebrations, and so we're thankful for that. Thoughts:

    Forgive the universe.
Billy walking out of the support group when they spoke of 'forgiving the universe'; thinking it was going to be a bunch of malarkey was realistic, and a bit funny. While the Billy/Kelly connection isn't really making any waves, it's logical that he would bond with someone who can understand. It's curious that they didn't go the route of having Billy and Chloe get closer over their mutual loss, though, and instead brought on someone new. Par for the course these days...

    Modeling in the park.
As if any photographer hired by Jabot wouldn't know exactly who Summer Newman/Abbott was... The idea that Summer would be made to freeze in the park was fairly silly, and obviously a set-up for Sharon, who is being touted as 'healthy and strong' again, to march up and bark that Summer is Jack Abbott's daughter - clearly a very bizarre thing to do when she knows perfectly well Summer is not Jack's daughter and she is responsible for that lie being perpetrated. So we're supposed to buy Sharon as being so much better when at the same time she's behaving as though she has no conscience at all? Come on. Sharon was on the mark with her advice to Nick about Dylan, but if they're writing Sharon as getting better they must address the issue of her conscience, otherwise it's not the character we know.

    First time.
You had to smile at Noah presuming he'd be Courtney's 'first' and her setting him straight. Though this pair is cute, and she's got a secret, it's worrisome that their first time together wasn't a more exciting prospect for viewers.

    Prep the bird.
Presumably Leslie prepped Neil's bird prior to Thanksgiving dinner, and all seemed to go well during the holiday celebration, but Leslie definitely had a few awkward moments. Could it be she's not quite ready for the whole family and kids' scene? It was surprising Neil didn't insist on having Hilary join them. Maybe even he realized that would be pushing his luck!

    Say what? (CBS)
    The aftermath of the truth.
The best scenes to come out of Nikki's reveal: Victoria telling Billy, who spit up his beer, about it; Sharon telling spoiled, selfish Nick it changes everything; Victoria and Dylan at the Club bar; and Victor being sensitive to Nikki's feelings for a change. Which was your favorite? Vote in Soaps.com's Y&R Poll: Favorite Nikki aftermath scene.

    Turkey.
Is there a reason Chelsea has to yammer all the time? Unappealing. Connor in the turkey costume was adorable, but Adam was right to suggest 'mommy' may have been going overboard. Chelsea and Adam clearly grew closer over the holiday, but don't expect it to last if fingers start to point his direction in the hit-and-run.

A lot to be thankful for...
It was nice to have Jill and Esther come together in the name of Thanksgiving, and Katherine - and it wouldn't have been complete without the flashback and the bickering match over who was supposed to do the turkey. It was too bad we didn't get to see or at least hear about others, such as Murphy or Brock. Also, why is Chloe so 'okay' and 'fine' all the time? She's going to need to explode and meltdown one of these days. The Chinese takeout and fortunes, and Michael showing up, provided a quirky, smiley end to the celebration.

    Wishbone.
Ashley turning up in Genoa City for Thanksgiving was awesome, as was all the talk about Abbott family tradition. Jack and Summer both wishing for Phyllis to recover on the wishbone was poignant, yet it's increasingly uncomfortable watching them and knowing they're not really father and daughter.

Happy Thanksgiving to our U.S. readers!

Correction, we do not know if summer is jacks daughter or not. We didn't see her do anything, she was off her meds and we don't know. And we don't know where the writers will go with this story whether she will be or not.

Sharon has said she switched the results.

I don't know why some fans continue to insist she didn't.

    Great rant!

Writers change things that were facts..make them non-facts to fit whatever they want

Sharon wasn't in her right mind when all of this happened, we dont know what she did or didn't do. Believe whatever you want.

I agree, Chelsea's endless yammering is annoying and boring. Everytime she starts I find myself saying "shut up!".

Wish Jack was Summer's father. He is an awesome parent.

    Thanks for the good rant!

    Happy Thanksgiving.

PS - that turkey costume was ridiculous. Why would someone do that to their child? He's a human, not a doll.

I liked the family gatherings but my favorite was the unconventional Thanksgiving at the Chancellor estate. The culmination of Michael's surprise appearance and reunion with Lauren was swoon worthy.

There is no way on earth in a hospital today that Sharon could possibly change the results of a DNA test to prove paternity. The writers need to think today's security measures for access to their labs b/f they come up w/ another dumb & unrealistic plot point. If Sharon changed the test results, Y&R has regressed to the 50's, 60's, or 70's when a plot like this might work.

    Thanks for the rant.

ITA about the photographer. Summer still goes by the name Newman and the whole saving Summer from freezing by Sharon was just stupid. While Jack may have fired the photographer, Victor would have made sure he never worked again.
