    Hijack? (CBS)
Restless Rant for the week of November 4 - 8:

"Y&R" plodded forward, still a touch gloomy, although anticipation is building for some storylines, such as Jill and Jack versus Victor, a current favorite, although having Hilary stuck in there is beyond annoying. In any case, here's hoping that Sweeps week will have more going on and that there is a return to humor and romance/passion coming in Genoa City. Sorely needed! Thoughts:

    Shameless and soulless.
Why are Cane and Lily the only realistic ones when it comes to Hilary's misdeeds? Neil's actually behaved out of character. He's usually so protective, nay over-protective of his family, that his outrage over them being targeted should have outweighed any feelings of guilt or responsibility toward Hilary, particularly since her acts of revenge were out of proportion given his actual degree of involvement in Rose's death. Devon is being sucked in by Mason, and Jack has inexplicably gone to bat for Hilary, which makes no sense since her blog posts would have put his company at risk - something that was never even addressed because the whole Hilary thing seemed to happen in a bubble. Thankfully, Jill, who was right about Hilary all along, put up a stink about her working with them, and will at least be a pain in Hilary's behind. Some viewers have actually been speculating about the possibility of a Jack and Hilary hook-up at some point. What do you think about that idea? Vote:

    A personal stake.
Hopefully this hit-and-run storyline is approaching some sort of peak because as fabulous as the acting has been, watching Billy angrily troll the internet (for what exactly?) and Adam drift around the penthouse in a daze has got to the point where we want to see something different happen. Victoria's frustration over dealing with Billy and her breakdown to Victor felt very realistic. Adam's taped confession was also very emotional. Unfortunately, since Adam had previously been living in a dazed funk because of his split with Chelsea and their miscarriage, with this happening now it seems like forever since he's been more than a half-functioning zombie. Ready for this case to be cracked!

    We're all damaged.
November Sweeps will bring about the special Y&R Veteran’s Day episodes surrounding Nikki's fundraiser. Again, thank goodness this storyline will be propelled forward, as viewers were at their limit with the near-miss encounters in which Nikki almost told Dylan the truth, and with Victor's over-the-top tirades about Dylan. Nikki's plan to stick Dylan in a room with her entire family is certain to make for a brilliantly soapy disaster.

    Your what? (CBS)
    Body heat.
Well, the scenes with Sharon and Nick in the freezer were typical soap fodder, and as expected, seemed to bring them closer together. Here's hoping we begin to see the enormity of what Sharon did increasingly weighing on her conscience as she 'gets better'.

    In the hole.
The Baldwin storyline continued to be madness. Not only is this bunk making our beloved Lauren and Michael look like train wrecks, but to make matters even worse, Lauren is now getting mysterious calls again. Could Carmine be alive? Ye gad, I can't imagine...

    Hardcore Courtney.
Who else can't wait to find out what's going on with Courtney? Suddenly she's this suspicious or sinister personality messing with Noah. It could end up being interesting, but right now feels more contrived than anything, especially given that Summer has never before talked about this huge mystery surrounding Courtney's family life. Gah.

    Your what now?
Tyler had his never-before-mentioned former fiancee, Mariah, call him up this week. Funny, I thought Leslie had referred to him having a thing for married women when he first came to Genoa City. Anyway, it gave Abby a reason to fly off the handle. Let's just hope it doesn't lead to another newbie coming on the show.

Still not understanding the killing off of Delia. She connected the Abbotts to the Chancellors...sort of...these newbies have to go...Y&R is not the same... and it's not getting any better...

I am not happy with any of the stories right now. Only got to watch about five minutes of the show this week, and what I want to know is -- how come imprisoned Fen is wearing designer skinny jeans in jail? Just sayin'..........

I wonder if they are hinting at a Jack/ Hilary hookup, Jack does kind of like women like Hilary but I really hope they don't go there. Hilary is just a waste of a character whose actions have never made sense and has made everyone else ( specifically Neil and Jack) look like idiots for even dealing with her. She needs to go.

I LOVE your comment about Billy constantly being on the computer. I get his grieving but what else could he possibly hope to find on there that he hasn't already? It would make so much more sense for him to drown himself in work ( which it seems Chloe is trying to do) or something. I also really hate the fact that he is flat out ignoring his little boy.

So much time is wasted on build up of storyline. In some cases that the big reveal is not done justice. The actual driver who hit Delia,I am afraid, will be a disappointing reveal, too. Will not watch the Baldwin's delima anymore. FF thru Abby and Tyler. Billy must have been buying a gun via the internet. He will not feel less guilty when the truth comes out. He thinks this vendetta against the culprit will end it but I doubt it. Nikki inviting Dylan to her house and Dylan even going with Victor's attitude towards him was ridiculous. Look at what Victor did to Billy and he can cast a stone? I would say watch B&B but it, too, has it's problems. Move the Winters family to another city and they can drop Hilary and Tyler somewhere along the way. Someone save this soap.

LUV ADAM ,BUT READY FOR HIM TO KNOW HE DIDN'T DO IT.!AND BE WITH CHELSEA AND CONNOR ,TAKE HIS FATHER DOWN ,WHEN VICTOR FREAKS ON NIKI FOR GIVING UP DYLAN ,BUT HAVING NO REMORSE FOR ABANDONING HIM. I LIKE HILLARY.*****SPOILER*****LUVED SEEING HILLARY PUT JILL IN HER PLACE WHEN SHE REMINDED HER WHERE SHE CAME FROM AND ALL THE 2ND CHANCE SHE HAD,NO I DON'T WANT HER WITH JACK .I JUST WANT JACK TO BE HER MENTOR. MAYBE THE NEW ABBOTT CAN BE THE ONE FOR HER,

ITA with you Candice & the other comments. I guess we all know that Adam didn't hit Delia,it happened before he came there. Her scarf was on his car because he ran over her hat which was in the road after she was hit, so it will all be anti-climatic when we find out who did it. I hope it won't be long so Adam can get out of his funk.

Neil & Jack taking Hilary under their wing is beyond ridiculous. Jill Cane & Lily are showing some sanity. Michael,Fen & Lauren have become dificult to watch. Michael tells Fen to keep his distance - then keeps talking to him. Making a scene with the guard must be part of his plan otherwise it's just plain dumb. It's so annoying that every time someone gets ready to reveal a secret something interups it. How can Sharon thinK she can have a relationshp with Nick after the lie she told about Summer? Her conscience doesn't seem to bother her at all. She must still be delusional. The Chloe/Kevin pairing is better now IMO. The minutes with Abby/Tyler could be put to better use.

I totally agree with your assessment of Hilary's situation. Can't understand why the writers are making Neil & Jack look like dunces just to keep this chick in the cast. I hope she stabs both of them in the back as a reward.

Mason & Devon bonding over music after Mason acted as Hilary's accomplice is just plain stupid. Devon has been a whole lot of things but never this stupid or forgiving to anyone.

Neil complimenting Victor Newman on fatherhood is a stretch of imagination as is writing him to ask for financial advice for Devon.

Devon seeking TGVN as a mentor and financial advisor is ridiculous! Why didn't Devon do this b/f he inherited money from Kay Chancellor? Beside Victor Newman never helps anyone but himself; he would rather "eat them alive." Or bury them that way.

Nikki & Dylan as mother & son--I cannot see that being a good move at all. Its a story for MTS but otherwise--NO!

Lauren needs to stop being a victim! Get Michael out of prison. Not interested in more of this nor am I intersted in reading that Fen has been raped in his cell while in prison. That's taking Y&R in a direction where it has never been before.

Summer's paternity story needs to have ended long ago & not involved Sharon in the first place.

Time for the cameras to spend more time elsewhere other than on all these folks still grieving for Delia. I still do not understand why this child had to be sacrificed to spike the ratings or just to get emmy reels for the adults. Hope it works for them.

Seems as if the writers are throwing a lot of stories out just to see what sticks. I, too, hope no more newbies are coming to town. I often cannot identify and don't always know the ones who are already there.

    Good Rant!

The only thing I do NOT want to see happen, is Nick and Sharon get back together. Please casting crew, cast someone long enough to play Phyllis for the truth to reveal about Summer's paternity. I hate Jack will be hurt all over again, because I just love Jack Abbott character and hope he and Jill succeedin their quest to obtain ChANCELLOR
