In this week's "The Young And The Restless" Throwback Thursday Soaps.com takes readers back to 1987 when Ashley Abbott aborted a child then ended up losing another years later…
Ashley returned to Genoa City in order to be there for Billy during his time of sorrow. Years ago she faced two losses involving a child and was devastated much like her brother. Nikki and Victor had welcomed Ashley to stay at the ranch after she had a mental breakdown as a result of learning who her real father was. Ashley and Victor fell in love, and Nikki and Victor separated.
Ashley soon found out she was pregnant with Victor's child and was devastated when he went back to Nikki, who he believed was dying of what was said to be an incurable disease. Ashley felt as though she had no other choice and terminated her pregnancy. Victor found out about the abortion, as well as uncovered that Nikki had lied about having been in remission, and berated Ashley. This chain of events caused another mental breakdown.
Years later, in 2003, Ashley became pregnant again with Brad's child. The Newmans and Abbotts were in competition over their cosmetics lines, and though Ashley was away relaxing days before her child's birth she decided to return to Genoa City and get involved in some of the underhandedness going on between the families. The trip resulted in Ashley losing the baby, who was delivered stillborn.
