    (Daniel Tanner/WENN.com)
    Legal battle.

    Updated October 15:

According to The Wrap, Christel Khalil reached a settlement in the legal dispute with her former talent agency. Her legal representation stated: "The Parties are pleased to confirm that they have resolved all of their claims against each other, they wish each other success in their future endeavors, and the action has been dismissed with prejudice."

    Updated August 20:

Maverick Artists Agency Inc. has responded to Khalil's lawsuit by issuing a statement suggesting that her allegations are not entirely truthful and claiming that she may be trying to avoid paying them $20,000 in fees she still owes the firm. Maverick's statement can be viewed in its entirety at TheWrap.

    Original article August 8:

"The Young And The Restless" actress Christel Khalil (Lily Winters Ashby) is currently dealing with a legal issue. According to Law360 Khalil was in California court on Tuesday and sued Mavrick Artists Agency Inc. Represented by Robert N. Pafundi of the Pafundi Law Firm, the suit claims Mavrick Artists Agency Inc. would not allow the actress to terminate her contract in April 2013 after money was withheld and violations were made. More specific allegations include unlawful conversions of earnings, co-mingled funds, non-compliance with the Talent Agencies Act and others.

Khalil allegedly was sent only two auditions during the 2012 - 2013 pilot season for series regular roles. The agency failed to book her for commercial auditions and didn't pay her for time worked as a guest star on CBS' "Two Broke Girls." Khalil also faced embarrassment after the agency allegedly submitted her for the role of Lily after already having had a contract role with "The Young And The Restless" for the last ten years.

The case is officially labeled Khalil v. Mavrick Artist Agency, Inc., case No. BC517376 (Superior Court of the State of California for the County of Los Angeles) and Khalil is looking to receive damages and reimbursement from the date of the contract with Mavrick to present for funds paid to the agency.

Does all this mean Khalil wants to leave Y&R? I can see her wanting to do some ad's but why is Y&R involved?

I don't think she was looking to leave the Y&R. She was just doing what all the other actors do and that is extra work, like commercials and guest apperances. The agency working for her didn't do their jobs properly by getting her more gigs and worst of all they sent her resume to the Y&R and she was already on contract with Y&R for the last 10 years. That didn't look good for her or the agency. I guess!

I don't know about the stealing money part (but I highly doubt it) but CK needs to get over it. An agents job is to SUBMIT their clients - but they can't guarantee that the casting directors or producers will call them in for an audition. Ask me - I work in casting - and maybe she's just not right for a part - so they could have submitted 100 times - but if she's not right or someone feels that her schedule with Y&R may conflict - they just won't call her in. Any agent will tell you they get 10% of the money, so it's not realistic that an actors feel that an agent do 100% of the work. I don't know all the details here - but to be honest, CK may be shooting herself in the foot. Word gets around - and it might come to no casting director or agent will want to work with her anymore... I wish her the best - but I think most people are going to think this suit is frivolous...

The Agency should have let CK out of her contract and there would be no suit. If she was not happy and/or satisfied w/ their services, she should have been able to leave the agency. Call the lawsuit frivious; but the customer or client is always right. Christel was not served well by this firm if they could supply only 2 auditions in a year & submitted her for an audition at Y&R, the place where she is already working. That smacks of both stupidity and icompetence. The Mavrik Agency was not familiar w/ the product or client they represented. To me, this is the simplistic view; so I am sure there are other circumstances involved that a Hollywood outsider like me would never understand. I do wish Christel well in this case & I hope she finds better representation the next time.

She did all this just this to make a quick buck. I lost respect for this actress.

This is ridiculous. Please let this be a dream. She is such an accomplished actress. Here lines are perfect, she does not look at the camera like some of your child stars. You could have come up with something better than killing off a child. Also I can't believe Adam did, this. If he had, we should have heard a thump or something. Give him a break. Constantly beating up on one person can get old. Let this be a bd dream. Keep Deliah.
