    More to it? (CBS)
    Restless Rant
    Week of April 1 – 5:

Two or three events piqued the interest on "Y&R" this week – the twist with Jack and Victor working with Paul and Alex, Jill and Delia’s returns, and Victor and Adam’s scenes in the hospital on Friday. The rest was kind of lukewarm.

    That woman is married.
Some peeps feel Cane is acting like a caveman or whatever over Lily and Tyler’s continued closeness. Tyler has repeatedly and openly made it known that he’s very attracted to Lily. That, along with the physical contact, makes some concern legit even if he trusts Lily. Of course, everyone's going to have varying opinions on how he/they should handle it.

    On edge.
It was sad that Chelsea had to worry about losing her baby this week, but honestly, it’s time for a bit of a rant about this character – Chelsea was probably at her most interesting when she was a 'bad girl'. Turning over a new leaf and keeping her word to Billy and Victoria was all very nice, but it made her rather blah. Pairing her with her buddy Adam was sweet, but nothing off the charts. It’s become headache-inducing watching her go back and forth about whether to tell Adam about the pregnancy, and second-guessing herself all over the place – it’s approaching a 'who cares' situation. That urgency the viewers should be feeling for Chelsea to (please!) tell Adam about their baby and happily reunite is missing from the equation. Now she’s going to spend however long worrying and fretting about Victoria? Not working. Chelsea’s one-night-stand with Dylan was the most interesting thing involving this character in eons.

    However long it takes.
Speaking of Dylan, he seems determined to take Phyllis’ advice and wait out the borefest that is Nick and Avery. Honestly, Nick’s proposal was pretty flat on Friday. I felt like he was just trying to seal the deal so he could turn around and rub it in Dylan's face. Nick doesn’t even 'get' Avery. It was laughable how he was suddenly all enthusiastic about the outcome of her case after spending the past month endlessly hounding her to drop it.

    Stolen items.
Hooray for Jill finally making an appearance, but do they have to write her so grouchy? She was more concerned about the box of donations than the fact that Katherine might be having issues with her memory, and that’s not how their relationship has evolved. Where’s Murphy? I want to see him supporting his wife through her troubles – those heartwarming scenes are missing. Anyway, Adriana’s likely going to get blamed for stealing the stuff Chloe took in an attempt to make viewers feel sympathy for her. Sigh.

    Wheeling Wheeler.
It looks like Wheeler’s done like dinner thanks to the great team of Victor and Jack (!) joining forces with Alex and Paul to bring him down. That said, with Leslie being so over the moon about her father's freedom and innocence, I have to wonder if there’s going to be more to this story – it seems too pat. As for Wheeler threatening to bring Jack and Victor down with him – it’s hard to believe neither of them would have anticipated that.

    The talk. (CBS)
    Spaghetti on the ceiling.
Also making a long-awaited reappearance this week was cutie Delia – love her in scenes with her daddy! As for Victoria choosing the quest for a baby over Newman – it seemed she couldn't tear her eyes away from that headline about Sharon. As for her worrying about people finding out she’s trying to conceive – don’t understand why it’s a big secret.

    One last time.
I hope they’re not going to make Carmine into a stalker – he didn’t stalk Abby. Anyway, Lauren giving in to 'one last time' was a bit weird, but even stranger was how she stayed all night until morning and then suddenly got angry with herself. Huh? Why didn’t she leave right after they did the deed? In any case, Michael was acting cagey. I think he’s either begun to put two and two together, or he already knows about Lauren and Carmine, or at least that she’s lying. Either way, now that Lauren’s finally ready to let him off the hook and reconcile – she may be the one in for a shock.

    It’s Summer time.
Can Kyle resist a naked Summer in his bed? I don’t much care knowing the current Kyle is leaving the role – such a drag. Summer just seems ridiculous. This story has no depth like the one she shared with Jamie – viewers had an emotional investment there.

    You’re my son.
Could Victor’s conversation with Adam have been a dream? Taking it at face value it certainly had an emotional impact. Any truce will likely be short-lived, but it was definitely something that needed to happen and was a long time coming. I was totally drawn in! What's your take on Victor's words to Adam? The show is too Newman-centric. I want to see more of other families and their problems in the spotlight.

Thanks for the rant. I appreciate your viewpoints.

Thanks for the rant Candace. I have a few rants of my own. Why is Dylan broke? He just finished a second tour of Afghanistan, remodeled Sharon's kitchen and inherited his dad's business and home. And while Nick doesn't have to use his influence to get the charges dropped he could get the terms of the bail change so that Dylan could return home and come back for the trial. After all it was a simple bar fight not a murder.

Normally I agree with everything you say, but this week sadly I think you have missed the mark on a few issues.
The only time that Adam has been truly happy, was when he was with Chelsea. Fans talk of Adam's chemistry with Sharon, but that relationship is just a toxic waste dump for the two of them. Their relationship has always had so many lies interwoven through it, that there is no happy ending for these two.
Chelsea & Adam just fit. They bring out the best in one another, accept each others failings & (a part from this pregnancy secret) they have always been able to be honest with one another. The dream scene in the hospital showed the chemistry the MM & MCE have, the joy that Adam & Chelsea have with each other.
This story line isn't done & their relationship is far from over. There are many fans out there who want to see these two back together.

Some thought Lauren and Carmine were so hot and look where we are now. I am completely disgusted with what they have done to Lauren and Likey in a month's time. This is not the Lauren I have watched who adored Michael and was Michael's best friend and protector. Michael offers her everything and now they are trying to say sex with the smarmy and manipulative Carmine means more to her than Michael and her son. I am sick of veteran characters being used to prop newbies. Lauren is being ruined so they can have Carmine walk around with his shirt off all the time and come off as some sex god. Likey, Lauren and their fans deserved better that this.

You are so right. Adam and Chelsea are dullsville and what is worse, she made Adam very dull and uninteresting. He is so dynamic when he is with Sharon. They need to get those two totally together once and for all. Being pregnant again is absolutely ridiculous. Has this idiot never heard of birth control? It is time to write Chelsea out of the show before she completely ruins it.

Watching Chelsea go back & forth about telling Adam she is preggers IS headache inducing, Carmen. I can understand her fear that Adam might take custody of the baby though. He will surely know that it is his. It may be that Vicky is afraid of people knowing she is going to try to have a baby because they might try to talk her out of it?That's the only reason I can come up with.

The most interesting s/l to me is now Lauren/Michael. I disliked it at first but can't wait until they are back on the tube. It's not really plausable that she would act that way, Carmine has her believing that he was her "friend" when he was really trying to turn her against Michael. He's is very persistent in his persuit of her.Michael is beginning to suspect the truth, I think.

If any man saw the guy he suspects of trying to steal his wife walks in and sees him hugging her, I think he would go a little beserk. Lily should not be Tyler's confidant. If they don't show Murphy supporting Kay now, they should just get him off the show. He's absent most of the time anyway.
I wonder how long the make-up between Victor & Adam will last, Hmmmm? I've warmed up to Alex, especially since he is clean shaven.Avery is not ready to get married. Sorry Nick.

I thought Cane's behavior was right on point. Tyler has been down right awful from day one. Lily has done nothing but make the situation worst. Once they cross the line Lily will look like an idiot when she realizes Cane was right.
I wish I cared about Gus/Tyler/Leslie but I don't. A complete waste of air time IMO. The Avery/Dylan/Nick triangle is good. Can't wait for Avery to cheat with Dylan

I actually really like Chelsea but I have to admit there are thing that just aren't making sense. Like this week, her freaking out over Victoria possibly knowing she's pregnant. SO WHAT?! What could/would Victoria possibly do with that information anyways?

Can we also talk about Chloe? I am beyond bored and angry with this storyline. Chloe's constant talking about her, Kevin and Delia being "Homeless" was absolutely insulting imo to those who actually are without a home. How can we possibly feel sympathy for characters who have been more than welcome to make themselves at home in a huge mansion and not pay anything for it?
