    This! (CBS)
    Restless Rant
    Week of January 21 – 25:

Jack’s addiction storyline wrapped up in a neat little package this week, leaving the brewing battle between Adam and Victor as probably the most compelling story moving forward. Also picking up steam is the conflict between Lauren and Michael, which given their temperaments, could be epic. Points from the week:

    The rumors are true.
Jack Abbott certainly landed on his feet this time. His addiction is all under control, the dead prostitute situation was reduced to a mere inconvenience, he’s got a new lease on life where business is concerned, and his prospects of bedding Red again are looking promising. All seems a little too good to be true! I’m guessing Jack’s next big disappointment will come from getting involved with Phyllis again. She doesn’t love him the same way she does Nick, and at this point, any amorous attentions he’s getting from her are by default.

    Money, money.
The missing/stolen money storyline continues to drag on. I’m over Noah complaining about Adriana, and was glad he decided to cooperate with Alex – though it remains to be seen if Alex is actually on the up-and-up or is, in fact, a dirty cop. Possibly, he’s a dirty cop, who was also Adriana’s drug-dealing boyfriend… As for Chloe and Kevin, if getting busted puts a stop to all of this ‘turned on’ stuff it can’t happen soon enough. It’s almost painful to watch couples with no chemistry in those kinds of scenes. Chloe had more chemistry with Billy when asking him to sell her a building than she’s had with Kevin at any point.

    You don’t know me.
Tyler snapped a little on Devon this week – does he have hidden anger issues? In any case, while Neil kept busy not being professional with Leslie at work, and Devon began to question his career future, it began to emerge that Leslie and Tyler are guarding some sort of secret with regard to their past and are worried about it affecting the present - somewhat intriguing. In other news, Lily was too busy to meet Cane this week, which could be a hint of problems to come.

    Revenge sex.
I’ll admit to being taken off-guard by Chelsea and Chloe checking out Cane while discussing the necessity for revenge sex. Considering Chloe’s history with him it was odd, but Chelsea’s reaction made for a funny moment.

    She’s baaaack!
Christine rolled back into our lives this week and Paul immediately caught her up in the Genoa City’s teen intrigue. Christine, however, was more interested in having another go at Phyllis, which instantly felt tired - ‘been there done that’.

    Secret. (CBS)
    Mounting evidence.
At the hospital, Jamie predictably woke up, uttered Fen’s name, and passed out again. Meanwhile, Michael, who has convinced himself his offspring is dangerous, grilled Fen at home. Later, Paul produced evidence that placed Fen at the scene, and Jamie woke up again while Fen stood over him and stared creepily. Gah. I felt like Fen was about to smother him with a pillow or something. Meanwhile, Lauren became scarily protective of Fen when guilt was implied – the conflict developing between Lauren and Michael, and even with Paul, is very compelling stuff.

    Dive bar.
Victor should know by now that insulting Nick’s bar would only fuel his desire to see the venture through and prove him wrong – not propel him back to Newman with his tail between his legs. In any case, things seem to be looking up for The Underground now that Tyler’s involved. Nick certainly took his suggestion to ‘sex the place up’ seriously, by actually having sex in the bar. Well, upstairs at least – you know, where Noah and Adriana did it last week… Seedy.

    Sister act.
I’d say Avery’s getting off easy with Phyllis just verbally smacking her down. Under the circumstance a full-on catfight would be completely legitimate.

    Same game, different players.
I’m excited for Victor to go up against Adam instead of Jack. It’s almost like Victor going against himself – except that Adam’s weakness may be that he’s slightly more emotional than Victor. Sharon is also his Achilles heel, which Victor seems poised to exploit as evidenced by ordering Mason to find out what type of meds she’s on. Mason is a well-dressed sleaze. As for Adam ousting Billy – I’ll miss their interactions, but it was a smooth move and not unexpected. Adam and Sharon’s off-the-charts chemistry had me anticipating another romp in the office, and Sharon too, as it only happened in her imagination. Other players in this drama include Adam’s mystery person on the phone (can’t wait to see who it is!), Victoria, and Nikki, who really needs to stop acting shocked about anything Victor does. Apparently, Nikki has something she’s keeping from Victor. Any guesses? Let us know what you think Nikki could be hiding by voting in’s Y&R Nikki’s Secret poll.

Great Rant! While I do like most of the s/l the nuwriters are bringing, I am still having a problem with the slow pacing of the show. And tend to lose interest by the time they get back around to them. Like where's Summer now that Jamie's in the hospital? If she's still sick, she needs to be in the hospital too. LOL And I miss seeing Jill and Tucker together with his little time left on the show.

And little Miss Cupcake(Avery) needs to STHU with her constant whining for Phyllis to forgive her. She can't have her cake and eat it too.

I am new to this blog, but I think Nicki is in with Jack in hopes of keeping NE away from Victor. She was upset to find out Jack had left NE and left it in the hands of Billy and Adam. Also, I think Leslie is Tyler's Mom and the dad may be the person they are hiding from. This also confirms the slip-up about their "mother" and "grandmother" being dead. Of course, Leslie's mom would be Tyler's grandma!I think Alex, the cop, is Adrianna's 'former boyfriend' who is a drug dealer = dirty cop!

I also can't stand Christine! Quit flogging a dead horse -- get over the compulsion to make Phyllis pay! If Summer is sick, it must be serious since she has not been seen lately. I think we will see that her illness is serious and a DNA or bloodtest will then prove she is Jack's daughter and not Nick's!

Yes! I forgot to mention Summer's absence, and I had meant to. She should be at the hospital where Jamie's laid up causing drama!

Can't wait for Shadam to come back full force. There
chemistry is natural, easy to watch. All of their scenes
    this week were great.

You were spot on Candace! If the only thing they can use Christine for is to fight with Phyllis - they might as well send her back to DC - IT HAS GOTTEN OLD and I thought they wrapped up this 20 year old S/L but no, they are obviously using it to prop up Christine. They need to know Phyllis fans are tired of this. She has been fed to her haters long enough now and we are still waiting on the recovery the writers have promised us.

First - I think Avery & Nick are boring & I don't see how Avery can expect Phyliss to get over her moving in on Nick so fast. Who is the mystery man we only get a glimpse of occasionaly. It seems like it could be Avery's old love. Sharon sure wants Adam back. It's funny that she is his top aid running the hugh corp. The s/l between Tyler & Leslie is becoming more intriging. I think Nicki is sick.

"Chloe had more chemistry with Billy when asking him to sell her a building than she’s had with Kevin at any point."
THIS^^^ Hit the nail on the head Candace.

While I'm not surprised about the direction the show is taking Sharon and Adam, I'm still disgusted with it. Yes they have great chemistry, I'll be the first to admit to that but I'm sorry, I don't see how you can get around their history i.e., Adam taking and keeping Faith away from Sharon, Adam purposely throwing away evidence that exonerated Sharon etc.

To me it looks like Paul may be getting a little fed up with Christine's obsession about Phyliss. There is trouble in the wings for Lauren & Michael and for Cane and Lily. Jack goes from one heartache to another. He knows Phyliss isn't over Nick. As for Chelesa & Nicki they marry powerful, driven men & try to change them. Nicki should have learned by now that Victor will never change.
