    I'm done! (CBS)
    Restless Rant
    Week of December 24 – 28:

There’s a tremendous cast in place, but "Y&R" honestly isn't doing much for me lately. Although there have been some dramatic moments in the business storylines and with Jack’s addiction, there is just no sizzle on the whole; even Christmas was a drag. There's a lack of couples with intense chemistry, and a disturbing trend toward 'love in the afternoon' being left to the imagination. Sorry, but watching people go up or come down the stairs or clutching bedclothes to their chests 'afterward' is no substitute for passionate scenes.

    I’m that good.
The steam room scenery was 'that good'! I'm all for Tyler, but find he is talking himself up too much – there’s confidence, and then there’s arrogance, which is a turn-off. In any case, the writing seems to be on the wall for Tyler to cause issues with Cane and Lily - it's pretty obvious with Cane being written like a sourpuss, and Lily and Neil being so enthused about Tyler and his talents. How do you feel about the prospect of Tyler coming between Lily and Cane? Vote in’s Y&R Tyler Trouble poll.

    Jolly Ol’ Saint Vic.
Victoria buying into Victor’s crap for the billionth time was disappointing, though not surprising. Billy and Victoria’s sexy moments are still good, but it’s way past time for him to stop giving Victoria her way all the time. As for Nikki and Victor’s Christmas gift exchange (the bible and the ranch plans), the gifts were nice, but the scenes didn’t draw me in – not sure why.

    I’m done – you’re done!
Jack’s addiction storyline is moving along nicely. It’s done wonders for the character of Kyle, who is emerging as not just sympathetic, but assertive, which is sexy. The intervention was entertaining viewing, if a tad predictable. It will be interesting to see how Adam's role will play out in the Jack/Victor feud this time around. As for Phyllis and Jack kissing – may it never go further. Jack makes Phyllis a dull girl.

    Gingerbread men and snowman pancakes.
Nick and Avery might be good-looking, but the fun stops there. Why do they talk about food and cooking constantly? Even in bed! It’s like a writing gimmick run amok. Dylan of the dog tags can’t show up fast enough to shake-up this situation. Navery's attitude toward Phyllis niggled this week – why do they expect her to ever be okay with them being together?

    Hmm. (CBS)
    Handcuffs off.
This Chloe and Kevin storyline is just a mess. They don't work as a couple, so it’s adding insult to injury to have to sit through Chloe giving Kevin 'permission' to plot some idiotic caper. Kevin yelling at Michael’s house at Christmas was bad enough, but later, discussing how they hadn’t had Santa gifts for Delia didn’t even make sense. As if Billy doesn’t give Chloe money, and Victoria, Katherine, Jill, Esther, Lauren, and Gloria wouldn’t have seen to it that Delia was spoiled rotten.

Why didn’t Michael look at Fen’s untraceable phone and see that he’d been sending bullying texts to Jamie? Seems simple enough, and might have spared us from months of whining and tantrums from annoying Fen, who most recently snapped because Summer only gave him an air-kiss. Sigh.

    I’m ready.
I like the idea of Sharon going back to work, but found her Christmas wandering a bit odd. Why stop over to Adam’s to share what a great time she had with her kids and tell him again that they can’t get back together? It was notable that they had Sharon cross paths with both Detective Alex and Cane this week. Chemistry with Alex? I was intrigued...

    Christmas blues.
After Sharon stopped by, Adam got a visit from Chelsea that was shaping up to be positive until she realized she was a consolation prize. Then there was Victor stopping by with tequila and threats. Adam's pain over his personal interactions was palpable in numerous scenes this week. In any case, both Adam and Nick stood up to Victor this week - bravo.

    Stress levels.
I love to see Jill bickering with/caring for Katherine, but it was disappointing not to see more of her personal interactions with Tucker or her visiting with Billy for Christmas, or even getting involved with what’s happening with Jack.

The show is moving along extremely well. Characters are being fleshed out. The new ones are being introduced around town gradually. I will agree that Kevin and Chloe have zero chemistry. In fact, it is time to write out Kevin. He is a non-essential character and makes me ill. Love the way Sharon is being redeemed gradually. Kyle finally is being written well. The show is on a roll.

Like you Candice, I'm a little tired of Billy always giving Vicki her way, but I don't think it would go well with him if he didn't. She should have cared more for her immediate family & gone to Jamaca with them rather than chosing Victor.Jack played his role great this week, especially at the intervention. You're right about Navery expecting Phyliss to be Ok with their relationship. Who would?

Jabot is aiming for a younger crowd so I don't see them hiring Sharon for the face of Jabot. She's a little old to be interviewing for that job. Tyler is going to give Cane grief the way he's persuing Lilly and making no apology for it.

Feel like a new family has mov ed into the neivghborhood and is occupying the house of a family I used to know and enjoy so much. Same house and neivghborhood but the new family doesnKt work. Feels strange and unnatural. I feel like the characters are all strangers any more. Wonder how the actors feel?

Victoria not get her way? YEAH RIGHT! She'd whine even more than usual. And how big of Victoria to push Billy to stage an intervention for Jack, just days after Billy blamed Jack for things that were on BILLY not Jack and just a few months after Victoria was pressuring Billy to SPY on Jack to get Newman back. Billy is such a wimp these days. I miss the old Billy Abbott.

Waiting for Shadam to return in full force. Adam and Sharon are always on fire...bring on the HEAT.

The storyline surrounding Jack is noteworthy. Looking forward to Tyler shaking things up with Cane and Lilly.

Lastly, please do not let Victor win again.

I agree, you would think Jill would step up and help Jack, she is a huge part of that family. Great point!
Something is missing, so much does not make sense.
Billy needs to grow balls with his wife like he did his brother.
Chloe and Kevin are just so unbelievable.
The scene with Victor and Nikki didn't do well becuas she had that Biotch look on her, holier than thou, oh and we wonder where Victoria gets it from. Grrrrr that family.
Ya what is with Food being the biggest part of their relationship. I do like Nick and Avery though and hope that it sticks for a bit.
