Throwback Thursday Y&R Poll: Mary's Marriage To Carl.

    Thursday, December 13 2012

    Hadley and Conwell (CBS)
    In sickness and in health.

In this week's Throwback Thursday takes readers back to 1998/1999 when Mary Williams found out her husband Carl was alive…

These days Sharon has been urging Adam to work on his marriage with Chelsea. Years ago, Mary Williams thought she no longer had a marriage after her husband unexpectedly never returned home from work. She spent eight years grieving Carl and later had him declared legally dead.

Charlie Ottwell won Mary's heart and was about to ask her to marry him when a miracle happened. Christine came across a man named Jim Bradley who looked exactly like Carl and convinced him to return to Genoa City. The truth was revealed that Carl had been beaten so badly, on the job, the day Mary last saw him and had suffered from amnesia. No matter how much Mary and her son Paul tried to bring Carl out of it, he never remembered them or their life together. 'Jim' made the decision not to resume his life as Carl and left town for good.

Do you remember why Carl chose not to resume his marriage and life with Mary? Vote in our poll then feel free to leave us your favorite Mary moment in the comments section…

Sadly Daytime recently lost the actress who played Mary. Please leave your condolences in Carolyn Conwell's passing.

Whatever happened to Mary anyway....How did they write her off the show!

    Brings back memories! Wow!

Mary asked Carl to leave Genoa. The day after, Carl paid Paul a visit and asked him what he should do. Paul answered they should do what his mother decided. So He and Carl said goodbye to each other.

Mary was never really written off the show. She made her last appearance in May 2004 - She was then celebrating Mother Day with Paul and Todd. Mary's name was mentioned several times in 2009 and 2010.
