    Keeper of the cash. (CBS)
    Restless Rant
    Week of November 12 – 16:

It wasn't an earth-shatteringly exciting week on "The Young and the Restless," and we need something more going on in the romance/passion and comic relief categories, but it was solid drama. Some talking points...

    Hole in her soul.
Well, Sharon got a diagnosis and a prescription this week. Here’s hoping she’s on the road to stability – she’s going to need her wits about her to deal with Chelsea, who is showing definite signs of destabilizing. How creepy would it be to wake up with your ex's new wife staring down at you? Gah! Sharon also saw her kids this week. I found the scenes where Faith was 'scared' of her mother very odd. In other news, Adam’s guilty conscience peeked out when he generously offered to cover any outstanding costs Jeffrey had relating to the Gloworm fire – won’t take Chelsea long to do the math on this one.

    Over at the tackhouse.
Noah unveiled the truth about his time in New York – he had a whirlwind affair that ended in a cheating scandal, which has now led to him hiding a bag of cash for the person who wronged him. Glad to see he’s not as dysfunctional as the rest of the family... Nick, meanwhile, divided his time between trying to rid himself of Phyllis, and chasing her sister. How convenient, and ridiculous, that his kids endorsed the idea of him boinking 'Aunt Avery'. This would be mortifying to any teen in real life. It would have been more realistic if they played it that Nick’s actions were adding to Summer’s issues. Speaking of which, Summer’s problems seem to be compounding as she’s under suspicion of cyber-bullying and is ticking off her partner in crime, Fen, to boot. That can’t be good.

    Little piece of metal.
After the beer, pizza, and begging debacle that spelled the end for Ronan, Phyllis is trying to move on from him and Nick, and moved in with Jack. They make a great support system for each other – no bones about it – but totally lack zing as a romantic pairing, so if it’s going that way, here's hoping it doesn’t last long. As for Jack, mere days into his painkiller addiction storyline he’s already downing 'em like a kid scarfing Smarties on Halloween night. By next week he should be fluctuating between being right out of it and flying into uncontrollable rages. Not ideal for a man trying to run with the big boys!

    Slinging insults (CBS)
    Corporate shenanigans.
While Jill and Tucker worked to convince Katherine to accept a solution that would make us all very happy – Jill and Katherine running Chancellor together, Neil had his eye on a new, ahem, hire - Leslie. Dear Neil, hitting on someone while trying to get them to come and work for you is sleazy. Okay? Thanks. Anyway, I’d love it if Leslie stuck around, but can’t Neil let Harmony be gone longer than five minutes before he’s chasing someone else? Also, where are Devon, Cane, and Lily? What’s up with the guerrilla marketing team? No idea what’s going on there…

    Destination Miami.
What a hot mess! We’ve got Victoria trying and failing to finesse her way out of Eddie’s clutches, while back at home, Billy and the Newmans wasted precious time indulging in an insult-slinging fest that led to Billy heading out with the briefcase of money and Neanderthal Nick in tow. They’re bound to muff this up. Otherwise, what fun would it be for Victor, who we all know is just waiting for it to be proven that he should have gone himself. Who do you think should be the one to save Victoria? Vote in's Y&R Rescuing Victoria poll.

    Not enough.
So, if the video of Ricky killing Rachel wasn’t enough for Michael to drop the charges against Paul, and Paul doesn't want to use the footage in his defense – why the heck did Chris and Heather even go looking for it? To cap it off, Christine ended up kissing Paul. It was gasp-worthy that Nina walked in on it. I’d like to see Nina kick her butt. Just sayin'...

Sharon is playing this well, I do hope she gets out of that cottage soon. Not sure why Chelsea is all psycho on her but it will be interesting to see.
Anyone else think Fen looks like a psycho? Just asking, I think he might give Ricky a run for his money in the nutty department.
I actually really liked Jack and Phyllis together before. They are good friends and that can usually make great lovers but she will never truly be over Nick so I hope for Jack's heart and all his past hurts that he doesn't get hurt again. I have a feeling that Nick and Phyllis will be another Nikki and victor, on and off.
I wish beyond wish that Billy will save the day. BUT I think we can all see what is happening there. Victor always gets his way. I wish for once he would end up at the bottom and then see if Nikki even wants him without all his power and money. Would be a great storyline.
I can't wait to see Jill and katherine together again and the comedic relief it will inevitably bring.
I like Paul with Christine, just sayin. I like Nina but I have never been a fan of their union. Paul is a core character and it would be nice to see some good things for him. Romance being one of them.

    Have a great weekend!

Candace, I don't if you remember me posting a comment several weeks ago when you did that interview with Danny.I knew that Christine could never ever love Danny like she once did. Her feelings have changed tremendously over the years. I always like Paul and Chris together.

Like Chicky2, I hope that writers have good plans for Paul. His scenes with Christine, especially the one he was alone with her, were great.
More airtime for Paul, please writers.

    Thanks for the comments!

I'm all for more airtime for Paul! Christine is always self-righteous with others, which is why I teased that I'd like to see Nina kick her butt. Agree that Paul and Nina never had any great burning love.

Paul & Christine have always been good together. Nina should know as she was friends with both of them when they were together.
Hope Sharon comes around too. Hoping that Adam & Chelsea work things out I like them as a couple. Maybe they can find someone completely new for Sharon.

I agree with you Chicky2, Sharon is playing her part very well. Here’s hoping that she can find her back to her kids.

I agree Candace, I’m worried Chelsea is coming a bit unraveled, but shouldn’t we blame that on Adam for putting her in the middle where she feels she has to fight for him. She was right this week when she said that he couldn’t support her when she miscarried but he’s in 100% for Sharon. I would really hope that the writers give Chelsea and Adam a chance.

I always thought Phyllis and Jack were well suited for each other. She always seemed too old for Nick. But she’s moved in so Jackie Boy better watch his heart, he always gives it away to quickly!

I agree that it was a blah week for the most part. The only storyline that piqued my interest was Noah and the package of money.

I always tune in for Mr William Abbott and the beautiful and even more capable Victoia Newman. Nick is pouting his lips and puffing out his checks - very angry for a rich boy.

William will one day sell restless style, he will run a successful reputable business. He'll do this in such a way Victor will back off - never like him but back off.

First Victoria will be returned. William will beat up nick and he will beat nick bad.Victor will continue to find deep disapointment in his black and blue whining child.

" How convenient, and ridiculous, that his kids endorsed the idea of him boinking 'Aunt Avery'. This would be mortifying to any teen if real life. It would have been more realistic if they played it that Nick’s actions were adding to Summer’s issues. "

This is so bang on I couldn't have worded it better myself. It is really offensive to the viewers as it is so unbelievable. I hope the new regime starts doing much better than this and the other stories we are seeing now.
