    Smack! (CBS)
    Restless Rant
    Week of October 1 – 5:

Though issues with certain characters continue, it was a week with more balance as we saw drama, romance, passion, and, of course, the slap, which could be considered comedy or high drama depending on your perspective. A few thoughts to ponder:

    I won’t forget.
Well, this week it became evident that someone is messing with Paul and his case, and given the flowers on Ricky’s grave, my money’s on Isabella. There had to be some reason we saw Paul go to her facility and tell her what happened. There are still many questions surrounding the knife business and who took Daisy out of the facility. Fingers crossed that it doesn’t drag on too much longer or get too bizarre; we’re still recovering from the debacle of Diane’s murder case. As for Michael, I’m over him ripping into everyone and their brother for being crooked and secretive, while he whispers and plots with Ronan about how to save Paul, admits to Christine that he doesn't like having to use her evidence against Phyllis, and coached Lauren on covering up her role in Paul’s case. Um, huge conflicts of interest! As for Eden’s role in Paul’s case, I didn’t understand why they ended her hypnosis session prematurely, and later, Kyle was on my last nerve trying to make Eden's situation about Diane.

    Code of silence.
As the train wreck that is Chloe and Kevin continues, they find themselves plotting with Daniel and Heather to keep the secret that they are seeing each other. At least Daniel and Heather are turning out to be a solid couple with rooting value. It will be interesting to see if Daniel is able to go through with his divorce ‘in absentia’ before Daisy returns. Either way, she’ll want to mess Heather up.

    The parent trap.
People like Devon, Cane, and Katherine, need to decide once and for all if they’re going to accept family members for who they are or not. Devon complains about feeling like a chess piece between Tucker and Kay, yet if Tucker messes up, he plays the Neil card – same kind of thing. Harmony is giving Tucker more of a break than his own mother, and Katherine has excused Victor for far worse than what Tucker did. Cane knows what Genevieve’s all about, and when they make up he seems to accept her, only to get all Judgy Judgerson again. It’s like he forgets how it feels to have people jumping to conclusions about you…

The slap heard ‘round Genoa City.
Well, whether you love or love to hate Phyllis, there’s no denying her tendency to run her mouth at times, and it’s always entertaining to see a good soapy slap across the melon. Yes, it was high drama at the GCAC with Nina and Phyllis up in each other’s faces, although I have to admit that given Nina’s non-relationship with Ronan it all seemed a bit trumped up. That said, with Nina believing that Phyllis tried to kill Paul, perhaps she was just happy to have a reason… On another note, Nina might want to keep her eye on Avery and Paul’s cozy little client/attorney connection now that they’re into hugging. Hmm.

    Sexy lady! (CBS)
    Second chance.
The hit-and-run stuff is starting to feel like what it is - old - but Chris and Danny still have that same chemistry from back when 'the kiss' happened.

Avery did a good thing resisting hopping back into the sack with Naughty Nicholas, who, with Sharon not currently an option, set his sights squarely on her for some tension-relieving nookie. Phyllis, for her part, resisted Ronan on Monday, but Friday was an entirely different matter. Who can blame her for giving in – when Ronan moves in close and starts huskily saying how much he wants her, it’s insanely sexy. Way. Too. Hot. Upping the gasp-factor was Nick almost catching them in the act. Vote on Phyllis and Ronan in’s Y&R Temptation poll.

    I want to taste you.
"Y&R" was not short on passion this week. Cane and Lily’s ‘personal relations’ were also very hot – especially the coy striptease, and some of the lines coming from Mr. Ashby. It’s amazing to see steamy stuff like this for established couples, and also allows Lily to be depicted as a sensual woman instead of a giggly girl/woman when it comes to romance.

    Loose ends.
Also in the romance department this week was Victor’s impending marriage proposal to Nikki. Only in Genoa City would someone stop a proposal to run off and pow-wow with their ex, who's barely speaking to them. Too funny that Jack credits Nikki’s nonsense with driving him back onto his feet again. Jack and Genevieve have a good vibe working together despite him not being able to fully trust her. As for Jack’s bid to strong-arm Tucker and get Beauty of Nature back – ain’t gonna happen, as Victor would say.

    Get me out of this.
Sharon is someone I don’t even recognize. The faces she’s making at people, the total lack of vulnerability or self-doubt… If they came out with a multiple personality storyline it would be the most believable option right now. She’s so changed that it’s not even exciting or amusing that she thinks she can take on Victor.

Could not agree more. Kyle is the most annoying character on the show, and Sharon is someone her own mother doesn't recognize. Love Lily and Cane, and like Daniel and Heather. But the mysteries are getting old fast. Send in Agatha Christie and let's get this mess cleared up quickly.

Good rant - totally agree with you. It amazes me that Katherine can forgive Victor for numerous things but Tucker gets the cold shoulder every time he does something she doesn't like.

Love seeing the interaction with Christine, Danny, Paul, Nina, Lauren and Phyllis. Reminds me of the good old days of Y&R.

I actually like the Heather and Daniel pairing and it is too bad that Heather is leaving again. Make up your minds people, is there a heather character or not. She is fine, she is adding something unlike the Chloe's and Kyle's of the show.
I agree on the passion and I actually like Phyllis and Ronan together and of course Lilly and Cane were awesome, nice to see them being a couple and not just talking "babies".
Yes, katherine is a whole lot judgemental for a woman who really has no room for judgement. Hello, how quickly we forget our own mistakes let alone Victors.
Lets wrap up some stuff and move onto some new.
If Geneivive was not leaving I would like to see her and Jack again, this time working.
I do shake my head at the people that are leaving and the one's they choose to keep. I guess they know something the rest of us don't.

I love the Lily and Cane and Heather and Daniel angle. I would love to see an Avery and Paul love story. They are both fantastic. It seems like Paul could be halfway there. There is really no chemistry between Paul and Nina as far as I can see.

I would also love to see Genevive and Jack get back together! I hate that Genie Francis is leaving! She has done wonders in this role.

I still like the new stronger Sharon, it's about time too.

Good rant, it made me rethink some things. It was so close--the end of the Paul saga, the knife & Erin's hypnosis. I don't know why they stopped her when she was about to get into the scary part. Kyle's interference is of no help he needs to butt out. Nick hitting on Pyliss' sister was not cool. He should look somewhere else or go back to Phyliss. Nina should butt out too if she wants a relationship with Roana. Nick literaly drove Phyliss into Ronan's arms, he knew Ronan was just waiting for the chance.

Who would want to hurt Paul, he is such a good guy? Patty & Isablla are both locked up so how could it be them? Christine & Danny could ride off into the sunset & I wouldn't care. I agree Niki running off to Jack instead of saying yes didn't make sense. It's a little ridiculous Niki& Victor fawning over each other - again! He sure is the romantic though-alway candles, flowers & gifts for is women.
