    I'm fine! (Soaps.com)
    Restless Rant
    Week of September 3 – 7:

By the end of Thursday’s episode, some were glad it was a short week of "Y&R." Check out a few talking points:

    I had an affair.
Well, many had wondered how on earth Phyllis would get herself out of the latest tight spot she was in – now we know. While it may seem a tad far-fetched that Ronan and Nick would both go so far out on a limb for the love of ‘Red’, it’s a nice set-up for future conflict. Anyway, with Tim dead and Heather having tossed Ricky’s box (containing Phyllis’ file), Phyllis may very well beat the hit and run charge. It’s hard to believe Christine didn’t hightail it to Genoa City when Tim turned up dead – thought she’d be all over that!

    Mentally unstable.
The bizarre saga of Sharon versus the Newmans continued this week with Victoria stumbling onto Sharon’s stash of stolen goodies. I really would have liked to see a blowout when that happened, but instead the scene basically just skipped to Vikki smiling smugly. She then made Sharon’s kleptomania the centerpiece of her argument at the competency hearing, which left me wondering what her testimony would have been had she not discovered the stash! In any case, Nick’s testimony seemed to sway the judge enough for him to order an assessment, thereby sending Sharon one step closer to the edge, and also into Tucker’s bed. It was interesting to see Adam show up at Tucker’s door and take in Sharon’s attire, or lack thereof, and realize through his eyes how she’s being played. Later, Sharon went off to Fairview, where she encountered none other than Daisy, in a weird replay of their meeting in jail. Cool twist. I’m anxious to hear how Daisy wound up in there.

    Seeing stars. (Soaps.com)
    Rash Jack.
Jack was acting out all over the place this week. First he refused to listen to Cane’s warning, which will probably bite him, but I was also confused – isn’t Cane the head of marketing? So then why is he acting as Jack’s financial advisor and gopher? Gah. Later, Jack met Nikki’s latest appeal with cold indifference. I’d have expected more of a sad acceptance with regard to this, considering he put up with her connection to Victor quite willingly during their engagement. Now he’s acting like this has come out of nowhere and he’s shocked by it or something – makes no sense.

    Snow globe.
Paul will likely find that recording in the snow globe, at least the story is inching in that direction. In the meantime, Avery and Paul working together could lead to sparks flying, and Heather spending time with Daniel and Lucy was cute this week.

    Every breath he takes…
I can't help but feel that the Victor/Christian storyline could have been amazing if written differently. Unfortunately, it's moving at a snail’s pace, has been boring, and the beats in the story have seemed silly: Genevieve pretending to be a nurse? Tucker arranging for Victor’s anti-rejection meds to be delivered? Billy keeping it from Victoria that he’d located her father and that he’s in rough shape? Nikki and Victor both looking up at the stars simultaneously? Okay, that was kind of cute, but overall many just aren't feeling this story. Are you enjoying the amnesia storyline? I never remember Ronan and Phyllis having some great love affair. It was all just hot sex and she was still in love with Nick. So for him to give up his career for her is just plain dumb. Why is he still even working? Shouldn't he be fired now or at least taken off hers and Paul's cases? Paul is the one Phyllis is accused of trying to kill.

I had never seen Sharon as debased as she was yesterday in a bordering on playboy cover get up of shirt falling off bra and panties underneath, assuring Adam she's fine and Tucker in his bathrobe impersonationg Hugh Hefner! It was really hard to watch a character sink so low that they no longer had any dignity or decency or regard for themselves. It's disgusting to write a character so low as Maria Arena Bell has written Sharon Newman.

So so true Candice. The brazen appearance of Sharon showing off in her undies to Adam is just another sign that she is out of control. I can't wait to see how the evaluation will turn out. Daniel & Heather are cute together, he finally has a relationship that's not weird. I knew it, I knew it, and probably so did everyone else, that Daisy wasn't dead, but what a way for her to show up!

I think Victor is faking his amnesia

I forgot that YR won't be on today/tomorrow..I watched Glee after I taped DOOL! Will be on tomorrow for Monday..Stupid Sharon..Victor, Nikki, Tucker...

I don't remember the love affair between Phyliss & Ronan either. It must have been brief. Nick earned some credit from me for sticking by her.

I agree w/ you. I don't know why the writers are trashing Sharon.
Sharon should be in charge @ Newman and keep Victoria @ home.
How could Nick ruin Sharon reputation, she is the mother of his kids? I'm getting sick and tired of Victoria and Nick shinning.

Candace, I don't really think Jack was "acting out" last week. He has always been OK with Nikki's feelings for Victor, but she left him on their wedding day to find Victor. THAT'S what Jack found unforgiveable. As for Sharon, slutty is as slutty does - that's just Sharon. I do hope the writers put Paul and Avery together. They'd make a great couple, and Paul deserves to finally be with somebody as sweet and attractive as Avery.

I am sick of the whole Victor and Niki drama. With all the writers this show has, it seems they could be a little more creative and come up with something new. Yet they come up with same scenarios over and over. Niki sort of sickened me when she went trolling around making snide remarks to Sharon. If she was done with Victor why go on acting like a jealous little school girl. With that turned up snubbed up nose of hers, she reminds of that comical blonde on the muppet show. Sharon hit it on the nail when she said "you started on the pole and ended up in a bottle. Why would I want to be like you?!" If it's the writer's intention to make her an unlikable character, it's working for me. However I'm so sick of the same repetitive drama between them, I fast forward through most of it. Seems they keep doing this to put them front and center of the show. But unfortunately they are old hat, and will probably bring down the ratings. Would not surprise me if Y&R soon ends up on the chopping block. To bad so sad
