    Davidson posted a message for her friends and fans on Facebook today. It stated, "It's official. I've been let go from 'Y&R'. Not really sure exactly why but in the big picture I guess it doesn't really matter!"

    Davidson's representative has confirmed to Soaps.com that she is indeed leaving the show.

    Actress Eileen Davidson has shared with friends and fans online that she has been let go from "The Young and the Restless" as Ashley Abbott. The actress, whose character is currently experiencing marital woes, tweeted, "Last week I lost my childcare. This week I lost my job! It all works out because I don't need a babysitter if I'm not working. #beingpositive."

    According to Soap Opera Digest, Eileen may return to her former dual role as Kristin Blake/Susan Banks at "Days of Our Lives."

    Dear lord, that says a lot that she's leaving Y&R to go back to DOOL. MAB and her wrecking crew have yet again done nothing to keep vet characters like Ashley on the show. She's an integral part of the Abbot family, yet she's gone and Tucker and Genevieve remain?!

    OMG, Please tell me that Eileen will be returning to DAYS. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE. They need her. She would fit in perfect now with the whole EJ not being Stefano's son storyline. We only hope Ken Coday reaches out.

    Another great actress bites the dust! MAB, what is wrong with you all at Y&R? Are you raking in the BIG BUCKS and don't want the seasoned actors to remain on this show?

    You prefer hiring ridiculous actors with ridiculous story lines that NEVER reach denouement That way you RICH PEOPLE can maintain your present salary.

    This show has been going down into the SEWER since MAB and her useless group of writers don't know what to do with the seasoned actors. Even though a two year contract was signed, I highly doubt that it will still be on the air by the end of the year.

    One last thing...YOU have destroyed BILL BELL Sr.'s show that used to be a CLASSIC, filled with ROMANCE, INTRIGUE, ETC. You have turned it into PURE GARBAGE.

    It's HIGH TIME that you ALL take a long, hard look at what you have been destroying. People have stopped watching this CRAP, stopped reading the updates, and no longer posting. They have abandoned a once LOVED SHOW. Look at the number of viewers you have lost and the number of comments that continue dwindling every single day. It is ALL YOUR BLASTED FAULT.

    Eileen: I wish you the best of luck and hope DOOL will hire you again. You will certainly be given better story lines over there. God Bless You and your family. I will HATE seeing you leave.

    Y&$ with out Eileen is like a soldier without a gun! The summer with out the sunshine!
    How it is possible? She is one of the most important characters on this soap and I think this is the beginning of the END!
    Please bring HER back ASAP!

    Why let go Eileen Davidson? and bring on all these new cast members? I really like Eileen Davidson/Ashley! This makes me mad. and ITA the Victor/Sharon pairing is nauseating and I can not even watch that. I have watched this soap since it premiered, it may be time to stop.

    Good luck to you Eileen Davidson, I have enjoyed your acting for many years.
