    Stung? (
    Restless Rant
    Week of January 16 – 20:

Well, it was a week that delivered plenty in the way of drama and tension, with just a dab of romance here and there. Let’s get right to the thoughts:

Just wait until I’m done with these people.
So, it looks like Chelsea’s going to be a force to be reckoned with – she’s already managing to get Billy and Vikki feeling sorry for her despite knowing full well she’s a con artist. I’ll be disappointed if world-wise Billy gets too taken in by her – c’mon, even Keeley can see what she’s about! Like all good soap opera villains, Chelsea makes viewers positively squirm with the desire to have her gone from the screen. Having Cane tell Chelsea that she picked the wrong mark for her con was a nice bit of foreshadowing too – makes one wonder if he’ll get involved again at some point. The Cane/Billy relationship reels me in every time. Chelsea is also working with someone – no doubt her mother, who is due in town before long – double trouble!

    On frozen pond.
Cane and Lily’s little skating date was a nice bit of romance inserted into the rather heavy week of drama, but they really need more to do – they can be happy and still mix in with other storylines so they don’t become isolated.

    Glass-wall marriage.
Well, the Victor/Sharon union was seemingly short-lived, but the hullabaloo created a lot of great interactions among the characters involved – I could go on all day. The scenes between Adam and Nick, and Adam and Victor were riveting – miss a facial expression and you miss a lot. Nikki and Katherine discussing Victor at Gloworm? Awesome. Heck, we even got to see Lauren doing her thing this week – loved that! Tying it all into the business storyline/sting against Adam worked exceptionally – Victor was really working it from behind bars, wasn’t he? Every conversation and event had some degree of tension until near the end of Friday’s episode when Tucker told Ashley the truth, Victor kissed Nikki, and Sharon warned Adam. Can’t wait to see what happens next - and that’s what it’s all about. What do you think Victor will do to Sharon for warning Adam?

    Earth to Jack! (
It was pretty hard to buy the fact that Ronan was able to magically coax all those memories and details out of Nikki, but if it brings us closer to sorting out this Diane mess and moving on, I’m in. The next step is to see how it all fits together, as it still seems Nikki only played a part in Diane’s death.

    Green-eyed monster.
Wow, Eden went from chill hippy-gal to bunny boiler in nothing flat! In all seriousness, I see her point in being miffed about the Daniel/Chloe kiss, and love that she sent the photo to Kevin to stir up trouble. As for Ricky, he’s just got the creepiest, iciest vibe…

    I’m saaaawwwwy!
Oh Angelina, if Kevin drowned you in Long Island Sound, we’d forgive him. Kevin’s pure rage at Angie’s confession was brilliant to watch, but Angelina continues to be too cartoon-y to connect with on any real emotional level, which is disappointing because had we been able to identify with her in those scenes, it might have been a turning point.

    Smack of the week.
You know it’s going to Devon, who as predicted in last week’s rant, acted like a stubborn arse upon learning that people actually wanted to help him hear better. Thank goodness he came around quickly!

    Having it all.
Jack toasted Genevieve to 'having it all', but I’m pretty sure since he’s too dumb to recognize Patty, or her voice, when she’s standing right in front of him in his living room, that he deserves whatever clout to the head is coming! Methinks Gen’s dipping into her Canary Island account to buy up Beauty of Nature out from under Jack’s nose, and Patty’s going to finally snap as the wedding nears. Calling Paulie!

I would like to see Paul more often. Why has he spent so little time with his son? Will Nina come back? (we haven't seen her for two months). Why hasn't Paul played a bigger part in Diane's murder's investigation. Ronan was a stranger to Diane and Nikki whereas Paul is Nikki's friend and used to work with Diane's ex-husband Andy (who happens to be Ricky's godfather).

EXCELLENT! You are brilliant. Love the Rant and every bit is true.
Watch out Jackie, Patty may end up being the only thing you get!

Thanks for commenting! I'd like to see more of Paul too.

Gotta agree about Angelina. It's a shame because Diana DeGarmo is wonderful singer and actress but the writers had the Angelina character DOA and there's been nothing Diana can do about it. It's a shame too because had she been written correctly, it would've been nice to see her break up the awful coupling of Kevin and Chloe.

Loved, loved seeing Lauren in business mode and the show letting her be smart, savvy and even a bit snarky to Adam. Sad that this is such a rare occurrence. Lauren should be used in the regular rotation just like most others. Tracey Bregman is too good to be stuck on backburner and Likey and their fans deserve a story after waiting so long.

I don't care about a Nikki/Victor reunion! These two caharacters have come together and went apart so many times I have lost linterest. I don't even recognize them anymore nor care about their existance on the show! They could leave and I would not miss them. So glad that Sharon and Victor did not sleep together. The kiss was enough of a gag. Sharon did not have to marry Victor because he got the custody issue revamped. She could have won that herself but for storyline purposes...How will Victor and Nikki feel about Sharon and Adam living near the Newman estate at Sharon's house? Sharon should sell it back to Victor and leave! Genevieve buying B of N with stolen funds from Colin is a twist. Did she buy it for Jack or for herself to run? S

I was glad to see that Sharon had the back-bone to tell Adam about Victor's plan. Victor never does a good deed for nothing, he got Faith back for her so she would feel indebted to him. I wonder how he will get revenge on her now. The action between him & Nicki gets confusing, when he tells her to get lost in front of Sharon but when they are alone he embraces her. Obviously she understands.
Genevive could look a lot better than she did on Friday. Her hair & dress were horrible, so unattractive. She needs a softer shorter hair do. What is she really hiding from Jack? And Jack is so gullable!
Myrna is just a little too far out. Her face is barely scared so why isn't Gen suspicious. And nobody pays any attention to her when she's all covered in black clothes in Gloworm where everyone knows everyone. Anyone with half a brain would want to know more about her.

I was elated to see Katherine back. She appears a little weak but nevertheless she looks and sounds great! As for Sharon, marrying Victor was from the inception a rouse. No one woman will ever claim Victor's heart but Nikki. He could go through all the women in Genoa City but will always come back to Nikki.
