The Young And The Restless Most Memorable Moments 2011. (Videos...

    Vikki and Billy. (Soaps.com)
    Conflict and emotion.

"Y&R" has delivered tons of drama this year, so we turned to Soaps.com readers to help choose the three storylines that brought us the most memorable moments of the year. Check out what we came up with, relive some of the moments through the video clips, and then share your thoughts in the comment section.

    Billy’s return to Genoa City.
Viewers couldn’t believe it when Victor liberated Billy from a jail in Myanmar only to keep him away from Victoria and little Delia, who was battling a life-threatening illness and wanted her daddy. The storyline was fraught with tension and emotional moments as Billy repeatedly challenged Victor and risked his wrath trying to see his girls. We were also treated to some great moments between Billy and Kevin, who became caught up in Victor’s scheme. Who could forget that fateful moment in the New York airport when Victoria finally laid eyes on Billy in the same bar they’d first connected in, and realized he was alive...or the moment she learned her father had deliberately kept them apart? The pair has remarried, but Billy still seems to be harboring a secret about what happened in Myanmar...

Cane’s death and the Aussie storyline.
The story of Cane and his Australian kin that played out this year was as convoluted and twist-filled as they come. There were so many moments that took viewers’ breath away – from Cane’s 'death', to the babies nearly being kidnapped and killed, to the reveal that Cane was actually alive and helping bring down his father. We were introduced to Genevieve, learned the nature of her strange relationship with Colin, and watched both Cane and Colin try to win back the trust of Lily and Jill respectively before Colin’s true colors emerged again and he was sent back to Oz. Memorable moments are still coming out of this story as Lily and Cane reconnect, and Cane builds a new relationship with his mum.

    Lucy’s birth/adoption/custody.
From the minute Crazy Daisy turned up in Genoa City insisting she was pregnant with Daniel’s baby, viewers knew they were in for some drama, but they had no idea just how far-reaching and emotional the fallout would be. We watched, enthralled, yet horrified, as Billy and Vikki fell in love with Daniel’s child. We witnessed Daniel’s stunned realization that Lucy was his daughter, and his struggle to do right by her. We held our breath as Phyllis put two and two together and concluded that Billy and Vikki were raising her grandchild. Numerous heart-wrenching scenes followed, and some of the courtroom confrontations were downright chilling. The twists and turns of this storyline left viewers with many moments to remember, and Lucy’s tale continues as Phyllis’s sister, Avery, has now entered the fray as Daisy’s legal representative.

Honorable Mentions - Sharon's story and Diane's murder.
It was a wild year for Sharon as she ran from the law, allowed her loved ones to believe she was dead, dealt with her feelings for both Adam and Sam, and fought to prove both her innocence and her fitness as a mother. As for Diane, she returned to town, tangled with one enemy too many, and wound up as the subject of a murder mystery. While Diane brought some unforgettable drama when alive, her tale is at risk of becoming most memorable for the length of time it is taking to reach a resolution.

I will say that all the stories that were mentioned were I think the highlights of Y and R this year, although, I wasn't too keene on Sharon's storyline. I did like her with Sam though. . I'm looking forward to what's to come in 2012 for Y and R and what will happen to little Lucy. I really hope that she will end up back with Billy and Victoria, but who knows?

I still think of Cane's "death" and get chils from that! The acting from all parties in that story was amazing. Colin was great too, and I miss him on Y and R! I wonder if he'll come back to GC or if he'll just stay back in Austrailia? I'm also curious as to what will happen with Jenaveve? Will she marry Jack? Will she be a casualty of Patty? Interesting!

    Hey it's me, HeyMon...

Why do we have to pretend that one of the biggest s/l's of the year never happened. The running over of Tucker by Abby. It caused for months of good story as Kay TOOK OVER McCall Unlimited, and did what she wanted with it. Ashley went to jail protecting her daughter, and Katherine went after John Abbott's daughter with a vengence, when she thought Ashley had did the dastardly deed.

Furthermore, this was a normal story-line that was developed week after week -- in a normal fashion. No sudden hook-ups, no Sharon sleeping with Adam, lying to Nick, getting married to Victor. It was normal, normal, normal.
